I personally had a fine experience here but after hearing about what has happened to Johiah my suspiscions have been comfired that the administration is too busy with politics and covering up real issues in the school, especially now that Dr. Martin has retired. Allen Upchurch is by far THE worst administrator I have ever encountered and continues to be. He is probably the root cause of children being unsuccessful at this school. He has even proven to be terribly racist. To which the school is aware, as when I was in school he was given administration suspension for an incident. I am tired of hearing stories of his crass administration and ignoring the real problem of gang violence at Ridge View. That's right kids, right here in our neighborhood and the administration would rather cover it up and not have it stain its beautiful state record than protect kids from getting jumped in their very halls! That did not happen when I was there 6 years ago and it saddens me.

Oh great now. What school should i go to now, Blythewood High School, or Westwood High School, now I never attend to this school again, because there are gangs in Ridge View High School and they are under investigation, and I heard about Cop attack in Spring Valley High School never attended to da again too. Spring Valley High School, and Ridge View High School need to work on there safety policy this is unacceptable right now, these two schools are acting up now. And the other guys on the post was unacceptable man, I was mad too. Now it between Westwood High School, or Blythewood High School

Stop The Gang Violence! The people that walk home are always getting beat up due to the gangs. Some gangs also sell drugs at school. Students are always coming to school high on drugs. The administration people don't care. All they care about is to make the school look perfect for those who don't go here. This place is trash. The janitors never clean the cafeteria. Many buys can be seen crawling on the wall. Very disappointed in this school.

Today at school I enjoyed 8 ounces of milk and 30 grams of a single poptart for breakfast. They didn't had anything else. They expect me to pay 2.50 dollars even though I am eating less because they run out of food everyday.

Last year the the instrument room smelled like pot and that's pretty OK!!! I love this school sm, the early college prep is so great, and I have not witnessed a single fight so far!! That's how you know this year is going to be great!! *UPDATE*: These little stories of gang violence may, or may not be true. The worst I've seen in this school is a couple of stoned kids, but that's everywhere. Sometimes fights do happen, but that's either because someone provoked the fight, or someone was so annoying to the point where they kinda had it coming. Also most of the people/Students who wrote negative reviews were either illiterate or on drugs, either way, I enjoyed my time here.

Awful place - was looking at houses in the area but would never send my children to a mismanaged school like this. Will be looking at private schools or other counties instead- grateful my parents found a better school system for me as well

I have one more year at rvhs and it's a great school that has a lot of clubs for almost everything a Teen is going through. Rvhs is very helping and education is always the number one focused, but we do know how to have fun and support each other.

There are some good people there, I have met them, but the school is trash. It is a very liberal one sided school where there is honestly no freedom of speech even though they say there is but if I say anything against liberal snowflakes then I could get expelled because they are too soft and have to go to their safe spaces. The students and some teachers there are just way to soft and liberal and discretely force their ideas upon us.

I have never attended this school but as a concern aunt of one the students that does. This school is horrible and I would not dear let my worst enemy attend this school. For the past several months my nephew has been threaten, robbed, and picked at by these so call “gang members” that attend this school (this has happen during school hours). On several different occasion my nephew have reported the altercations to administrators of the school and nothing has been done about it. Every time something happens it always “it will be investigated”. Since then, my nephew is up for expulsion and nothing has been done to these gang members. I mean I thought apart of the administrator’s jobs was to provide a safe environment for students to learn. This is just sad and poor judgment on the administrative department (especially the Assistant Principal Mr. Allen Upchurch). Since this problem started Mr. Upchurch was informed about all altercations and he did absolutely nothing to correct the situation. This is the result of what happens when you hire someone just to have a job to collect a check and no concern about the student’s education and their safety?????????????????????????????????

Two years ago, I was warned that I may not want to send my son Ridgeview High School. Boy oh boy, did I wish had taken heed. My son has been the victim of bullying by gang members at the school as well as bullying by members of the administrative staff. We have done everything we could in assisting them in eradicating the continuous pursuit of my son. We provided them with videos, screenshots threats (including death threats) towards my son and I. The whole time I was only met with we are investigating and it will be dealt with. When you have habitual offenders in your school and you know they doing gang activity to endanger students, you as members of the administrative staff, should make it your business to make sure every student that walks on that campus have a safe experience. Remember, if it is perceived as threat to a child in a controlled environment, IT IS A THREAT TO A CHILD. That child does not have the option of running away from the situation when they are in a institution of such as a school. My son has been recommended for expulsion for defending himself while being picked on, jumped on and in one of the jumping incidents robbed of his jewelry. I am writing this review because as I have found out in the past few days there has been many testimonials made by current and past students of Ridgeview that has encountered the same problem only to have nothing done about it.. Ridgeview needs reform... Not cover-ups.
