My students are now in 8th and 10th grades and have been at PSA since 6th grade. This school serves a unique niche of gifted and talented children who are underserved in the vast majority of local area k-12 schools. The faculty and staff have truly formed a warm, supportive community spirit with the students and their families. This school is not for everyone, but our personal experience is that if your child belongs in the gifted environment, the administration / faculty makes every effort to meet their needs to help them succeed, even for 2E children. The principal knows each and every student's name and encourages students to reach out to him. In addition, this school consistently performs at the highest levels in the state on the Dept of Education report cards, even though it is funded at the lowest level (no transportation or facility funding, even though it is a public school). Our experience has been extremely positive.

This school is amazing! My gifted children have thrived here. The difference in the atmosphere, the relationship between the teachers and students is one of mutual respect...virtually unseen in public schools! I am excited at the opportunities several teachers, mentors, volunteers, & staff offer these students. The administration is hands-down the best I have had the pleasure to experience. Thank you everyone at PSA for being a part of this innovative school that surely should be a national model! You truly become a family member at PSA!!

One of the best middle school and high school institutions in the state of South Carolina! It pushes you to be the best student you can possibly be. You can be a 6th grader and take Algebra I.

If you have a gifted student, this is the place you should be. We travel 25 miles one way, from Mt. Pleasant, every day so our son can attend PSA. The administration is caring, responsive and attentive. The teachers are knowledgeable, helpful and dedicated. Our child who previously stared at the wall during math class out of sheer boredom now can work a few grades ahead with the support of the administration and staff. If you have a child that is behind and can not keep up with the accelerated workload, this is not the place for you. If your child is only at school because they HAVE to be, this is not the place for you. But for those of us that have struggled with finding a place that can challenge our kids, we are grateful beyond measure for this school focused on gifted children.

The school was okay, however, I did not fit in with the people around me. I went there in 7th grade and I was there for about a month before I switched back. The staff then was wonderful, however I'm not sure how they are currently as I have not been there since I left.
