Not sure what's going on at Bishop McDevitt but they need to fix it soon before they see a decrease in the students attending the school. A lot of parents and students have been complaining about the school being extremely unorganized so far this school year. Everyone is aware of the changes and new staff but it seems to be getting out of hand. There have been a lot of complaints about the new Assistant Principal for Student Services from both parents and students. McDevitt has had a great reputation over the years I hope they do not ruin it because myself along with others are considering pulling their children out of the school.

I think Bishop McDevitt is a great high school. They prepare the students for post high school.

My son has been attending Bishop Mcdevitt High School for 4 years now. I’m very disappointed with the school assistant principal Mr. John Church. I contacted the school on 1/10/2019 regarding an incident that occurred with my son. Evidently his phone was confiscated by Mr Church because he observed the phone in my son pocket. Mr Church deliberately went to my son classroom sat three seats behind him and stated he found it strange that my son was shredding small strips of paper. According to Mr Church that how he noticed the phone in his pocket beneath the desk. Ok, Mr Church school rules must be enforced however you’ve been targeting my son since September . Mr Church and I had a brief conversation regarding scheduling a meeting that occurred today at 6am this morning. During our conversation prior to meeting today Mr Church refused to meet with my husband and I. I quote verbatim I normally will say yes to meeting, but I’m going to say no because I’m the only faculty member on the premises that early and if something were to happen I will be forced to defend myself. Ok Mr Church that comment is offensive and I feel discriminated against. After the offensive remark he decided that he will meet with my husband and I. The morale to my post is Mr Church shouldn’t be an assistant principal if he treating minorities unfairly. I’m in the process of filling a complaint regarding his behavior.

The majority of teachers are terrible. This is my sons 9th grade year and he will not be returning once the school year is out. Teachers would grade my sons assignments only after I had a sit down with the principal. But were quick to send home multiple failure warnings when he wasn't even failing.

I didn’t particularly care for the school itself but some of the faculty was good and I’m grateful for the friendships that I was able to make.

This is the worst school to have ever exist. DO NOT send your children here. Staff are VERY rude to students. I say this from personal experience and experience from my child. Very money hungry school. They dont treat international students fairly and are just overall rude to everyone. They won't respond to your children's emails unless your children CC it to you. The staff are the rudest people I have ever come across. Very very rude people. They treat some student better than the others and they PICK on your children. If you are considering this school, please take a look at other better schools first.
