I think Google should restrict ratings to parents who actually have had kids go through Jesuit, BTW. I have had 2 of my children go through this school, and I know it has changed both of them for the better. Jesuit graduates leave the school with a world view that connects the brain and heart and relates both to the world around them. It is a true college preparatory school, and rest assured that your child will learn how to construct essays, give oral presentations, and have a good grasp on as much math and science as they can handle. Also know that they will expect your child to be a good citizen, and give back to the community regularly. They believe in equal parts love and discipline, and there are always consequences for actions. It is a school with a long history of excellence in all facets, from sports to the arts. Any other negative reviews here are sour grapes or activists, IMO.

I often heard Jesuit was a special place. Now I know it is. The academics are rigorous and there are classes and levels of classes for all. You can take Algebra as a Freshman or Calculus depending on your level of readiness. There are language classes, honor classes, but most of all the students are expected to take care of their needs on their own. It is truly preparation for college in all ways (Academic, Study Habits, Self-Ownership). While many think of sports when they hear Jesuit, it really offers something for everyone. The theatre offers an opportunity to design, produce sets, direct and act in plays. The clubs offer anything you want because you can create a club for any interest. As a non-Catholic family I was hesitate about all the religion. But we have found that it has challenged religion as a whole and made our family stronger in not only our own faith, but we have a better understanding of the many roles faith has played across the world and how important it is for us all think and act out of our comfort zone! Jesuit's motto is Care for Others and Do the Best You Can DO at What You DO. They mean it, they expect it, it is a requirement. And to me that is one reason why Jesuit is so special.

A great schoo bringing out the best in its students. Thoroughly committed to excellence and service to others in the Jesuit tradition.

Jesuit Portland has been an outstanding experience for family. Our four children have had numerous opportunities to explore and be challenged in their academics, character, spirituality and athletics. Jesuit Portland culture fosters deep, supportive friendship with students and faculty and amongst families. It is a remarkable place.

The crusaders: What an interesting name for a mascot! Are they teaching any history in this school?

It has been an absolute life changer for us. The community is supportive and there are no barriers to how much you can achieve. You are judged on your character, and not what kind of car you drive. A truly wonderful experience for our son, and us.

Got a good education but... well that is expected since tuition is $$$$$. Everything else was a *travesty*. Definitely wouldn't send my child to this school. Let me know if you want stories, I could write a series of novels about how awful my experience was here. Good try, jesuit. Parents: save the money, put your kids in the IB and AP programs at public schools. However some great staff members include: Gladstone, Satterberg, Mr. Villareal, Honeycutt (legend), Mitlon, Zim, Father Adams, Señora Raffaele.

Love the school.

The kids here have personalities like hollywood cardboard cut outs. They say they're a very accepting school but its 95% white and there's essentially no culture. The kids have no real world experiences and think that they're better than everyone else but most outsiders hate em. The teachers are some of the best I've ever seen and for that its 2 stars.

Incredible school, incredible people, extremely qualified teachers Also Jesuit XC is an extremely good program that produces insanely fast kids in an incredibly fun and tight-knit environment.

The press box bathrooms suck. The doors don't work and their are fake soap dispensers that impair the user experience.

Bunch of no good rich boys, go away

I would highly recommend against this school. The practices they have to raise funds are atrocious. They auction off puppies to the highest bidder annually with no care for the animal's well-being. These are not the morals and values that should be instilled in children.

What a shameful educational institution, for auctioning off a puppy for charity reasons, for over a decade, in their words. Is this how you teach future generations how to be compassionate about life? How to do the right thing? How to be ethical? Animals are not auction items. There are reputable, official breeders and breed clubs where people who are knowledgeable about breeds and have true interest in adding their family a forever companion can go and adopt through formal paths. Auctioning off an animal is NOT different than auctioning off a child.
