My daughter was a student Aug 2018 to Feb 20th 2019. She now attends a amazing school as of Feb 21st 2019 starting school work Feb 26th. I received a summons to court that my daughter was truant from March 27th 2019 until current with complaint filed on April 30th 2019. My Daughter wasn't a student at this school at the time they reported this. They are extremely rude trying to get it figured out when I did get one call through and I was hung up on several times. I have 10 unanswered calls to principle as well as truant officer all of which will not call back. Next step is a lawyer and I will be making sure this is made public with the news. HORRIBLE SCHOOL. My daughter learn NOTHING at this school and is now a straight A student

Garbage. They email me and I no longer have a kid in their "school" this is the biggest waste of our tax money up to date. This "school" is such a joke. They weren't even communicating with us and now they're spamming me asking for a review, heres your review 0 stars!!

The classes and teachers do not help students at all. They call you over and over nonstop. To the point I had to disconnect my phone. They do not care what situation youre in at all. We entered the school late and immediately had 42 overdue assignments because they expect you to do everything they had done that school year and if you don't get it done in one day they get angry about it and won't leave you be til it's done then they keep stacking a million assignments a day over that but expect you to have everything done. It's ridiculous. They are completely rude. When they call they have extreme attitudes and talk to the kids like they are stupid. I really hate this school and would never recommend it to anyone. By far the worst experience ever.

My daughter attended OHVA grades 2nd - 6th when I realized our local, brand-new b&m school was teaching to the class. (She was ahead of the class.) She needed more of a challenge, and with OHVA, we were able to work at our pace, and supplement the curriculum as able. Don't listen to the "your child won't be socialized." Go to play groups and attend field trips. She jumped back into b&m for high school due to the math becoming too complex for me and I felt she should take foreign language in person. She went to football games and fit in just fine. She took her senior year of HS at OSU, and this past Friday, enrolled at Yale. Our homeschooling days, which encompassed grades 2-8, provided a foundation for success. Had we not gone the route we did, I doubt the public b&m schools in the state of Ohio would've led us to the same finish. Incidentally, she placed in a level 3 German class and level 4 French class for her freshman year at Yale. Good program at the high school level of sending her to OSU; I will say that. I do believe the K-12 schools offer PSEO options as well. Our OHVA years were some of our best times; traveling off season, spending more family time together, and no one counting the days she was absent due to an illness and barking at me as in b&m first grade. (She missed 10 days for tonsil and adenoid surgery.) B&m school also gave plenty of strep, and we didn't miss that one bit. OHVA was fantastic; curriculum and the teachers that kept in touch. Thank you!

Our daughter started Kindergarten with K12 OHVA five years ago. We are very proud to have chosen the right school community for this educational journey and believe that each year with K12 and OHVA family, we could only get better as we all learn together and make progress as new and innovative ways of learning comes up. Before we decided to adopt K12 OHVA partnership, we researched and compared a lot of other school communities. We’ve read both positive and negative reviews as well as testimonies of young people who has moved on after graduating. It helped to weigh in reasons why different families differed with their opinions and understand why it worked with others while some others failed. ‘Hence the reason why it’s important that families are given the choice and the right to decide How, Where and Who they would like to partner with when it comes to their children’s education. School Choice! What helped us the most in making our decision to go with K12 OHVA is their curriculum. We found that what they provide for their student’s education is very well balanced. The online and offline classes ensures that the students have a steady pace in their learning. The Teacher’s Guide Book details everything for the Learning Coach to follow and succeed in guiding their child’s learning at home. Even parents who had no teaching experience will find it easy to follow the step by step guide for each class and subject. In our five years with OHVA (going six this year), the staff and teachers are just a phone call or email away. They are very accommodating and happy to assist with whatever questions and help that you may need. Talking with them leaves you with a warm feeling and doesn’t make you feel like you have inconvenienced them at all. That observation also goes to K12 Tech support whenever computer glitches happens. We find it very easy to navigate both K12 and OHVA websites to find answer to some questions or problems that might come up. My daughter loves each teacher that she connects with everyday in her Class Connects and Online Clubs. She enjoys interacting with her online friends and always enthusiastic to relay what happened in her Class Connect time. We are very satisfied to see our daughter flourish at her own pace each year. Because we have control of our time, we are able to let her passion in art develop and allow her to dabble in any other interests that she'd like to embark on. OHVA schedules Face to Face excursions all year long. We have the freedom to choose which educational or social excursions we would like to attend. Although it’s required that you attend at least four, we usually end up attending more as we take this opportunity to meet up with her friends or visit places we never thought of going to. Learning Coaches are also provided with a lot of Class, info and tips in Learning Coach University and eQUIP. We can learn at our own pace too. Moving on, we could see ourselves as parents and our daughter finishing this journey through High School years with K12 & OHVA . For parent’s who want to be a part of their children’s education; to be the main teacher’s to instill good philosophies in their children’s lives; great curriculum already planned out for you; educational materials provided for free; and all the support you need to succeed… What are you waiting for, get on the K12 and OHVA wagon to success!

Horrible communication and the staff members have no compassion for students who have difficult circumstances. Will be reporting them.

Ohio virtual academy was one of the worst schools that I ever went to they do not help you no matter how many times you need it. They cause drama & stress in your life every day you are in that school, & the principal also called the cops for no reason & they don't care about your grades or how many times you are in there classes so if you think about going to this school please don't because it will be a big mistake.

Out of three online schools that my son has been to this is by far the worst several times I’ve asked several different people about the curriculum they offer such as languages and I can never get an answer everyone wants to beat around the bush and pass the buck I would rate this a zero out of 5

K-12 OHVA is such an amazing school that we are enrolling our youngest son in kindergarten. HIs brother just finished 3rd grade and we couldn't have been happier with this school.

Reviews are usually given by people who are unhappy and often those who are satisfied rarely think to give reviews. I read some negative reviews and think it is very sad because in our case it is an amazing school. It is school, it does require effort and does require doing the assignments, but it is school! It is completely free, they supply everything you need for the exception of things you would purchase for your child in any school (paper folders etc) They provide twice a year a stipend to help with internet. Provide computer, printers, books. We have had very caring teachers and having class connects helps make sure the child is learning. Just remember because someone had a bad experience, it doesn't discount the entire school.

This is the best school my daughter has every been to they got her all the help that she needed that the other school would not do for her

The school sends you to ten different people looking for answers to your questions and you never get any answers. They don’t offer a second language course for credits. I’m am thoroughly disappointed with the way the school is ran.

We love K12 and Ohio Virtual Academy! The teachers are amazing and genuine! They hold online class connect sessions daily and also set up outings and events where students have the chance to meet and interact with other students and teachers. The curriculum is great. Working at your own pace means my kids aren't bored with things they already know and don't get left behind when they don't understand something.

If your student is motivated, or the parents are willing to “motivate” the student, then this is a great place for self paced learning with a flexible schedule and lots of educational opportunities. If you expect a school to raise your child or shove knowledge down their throat, then perhaps a more traditional environment would be appropriate.

This school is a terrible represention of what school is supposed to be. If you remotely care about your child don't enroll in this online school. They are very misleading and you cannot get ahold of anyone. They attendance record keeping is poor, and they addmitted my daughter was in class when there attendance personal said she wasn't. Beware

Ohva has been a God send for my son. He struggled in public schools due to the lack of attention given to him to learn the curriculum. The staff at Ohva really care, he has went to help classes since attending OHVa and the teachers didn’t leave until he understood the curriculum. He went from C and D’s to A’s and B’s and is currently on national honor society: he can go at his own pace which helps him a lot. Melissa

K-12 has done wonders for my child. His grades have come up and his knowledge has increased greatly. By being able to go over things at his pace and a few times the info has stuck...he is not rushed through everything. The teachers do an excellent job and are so helpful in every aspect of the work they do. We couldn't be happier with our son's progress, the teachers and the school. We made an excellent choice with OHVA K 12. We can't ever thank them enough. R Green
