Parents please keep your children far from this school! This school doesn't deserve any stars! Ive had so many issues with this school. Ive talked with her teacher and principal and nothing gets done. This is our last year here and this school has helped pushed us away from our hometown. My daughter got called racist names like cracker a couple of times and the bus driver still has her sitting by the students who pick at her race. They bullied her by claiming all white people have stinky breath and called all white people ugly. I spoke to the principal and told her periodically a few students on my daughters bus picked at her and another white male child and the principal said she would speak to the bus driver. Didn't update me on anything. 2 weeks have passed and my daughter is in the same seat near the racist students and nothing got done. I'm in disbelief. When my child tried speaking to the bus driver when it happened, she was told by the bus monitor to not talk to him because he's driving. My child said the bus monitor never did anything about the racial bullying. My daughter also has a student in her class who is so unmanageable and yet the school makes several excuses for him and tells her class (principal told me specifically), "everybody has bad days" and that the students in her class is made to make exceptions for him when he throws tables and chairs, water bottles, belongings, pencils at other students. The sheriff's dept actually got called to control this very student whom is allowed to be disruptive whenever he has a "bad day". My child said she can't concentrate and gets disrupted so much that she can't focus and the class is told to run away from him when he acts out. So now when things get really out of control, the whole class has to stop what they're doing and run out of the classroom. I dont understand why this student is still in my daughters class! And due to her not being able to focus, when she asks her teacher to go over a certain problem, her teacher even told me during an conference that she doesnt have time to go over anything. So now I'm having to come out of pocket for a tutor because her teacher does not care to quickly go over a math problem. Last year her teacher told my child she could bring her Bible during silent reading time. Last night she said out of the blue she wanted to bring her Bible during silent reading time. I allowed her to bring it because her teacher last year said it was fine as long as she wasn't talking to anybody about it or showing them or pushing her religion off on anyone. Her teacher this year told her shes not allowed to bring her Bible to school. I didnt see anything specifically saying she can't bring her Bible as ling as she kept it to herself in the School Handbook. I am furious with what this school finds important to target children after and what's not important. I'm shocked this school allows bullying and objects being thrown at other students and nothing gets done. And I'm even more disappointed that caucasian children are getting targeted for their race and are called racist names and nothing is still done. Now I'm having to tell my child to ignore certain students. This is completely ridiculous! This school needs a new principal, new teachers, new bus drivers, and cafeteria workers. The food is disgusting. It tastes like its been cooked over night in a microwave. And there was a hair in my child's food. So now I have her eat home lunch. The school is failing and in time more parents will see. Good luck! I wish I had someone to warn my family!

Great school, great faculty. Not sure about the NC school system though. Seems a little broken and motivated only by the standardized testing.
