Went here all 4 years and overall the school is fantastic. Just stay away from the orchestra department. The director, Tara Culbreth, is brainless and manipulative and will kill your child's love of music. When reported to administration they lazily said they hate it, but there was nothing they could do. Just cut the strings program already. It's worth paying money for a private instructor when the public school alternative is absolutely horrendous.

Great school but if you can't provide your child a ride in the morning they have to wake up quite early in the morning for the bus and are often exhausted the whole day and fall asleep often in class. Most teachers do a great job and strive for student success. Highly recommend the NJROTC program.

My oldest daughter is a senior at Cary High this year and my youngest will be a Freshman next year. I absolutely love Cary High. I have been beyond impressed on how they care for the students and the level of attention they give!!! At open house in the beginning of the year, the teachers were so friendly I felt so blessed Lizzy is at Cary High! Go IMPS!!!!!!!!

Been here for almost four years and the staff, the booster clubs, pta and most of the students are cool. Just wish the grounds and the facilities were better maintained. Some of landscaping, paint and furnishings seriously need attention and the bleachers do to. I would love to see the front entrance power washed and repainted and some new benches. Also all the picnic tables replaced. But I'm so proud to be graduating for the first high school of Cary. I have appreciated my teachers and the opportunities to participate in the arts, music and sports programs. Thank you!

Pretty good, as long as you get the right teachers and dont act like an idiot you'll be fine. If you're interested in band or chorus or orchestra, Cary is the top choice for all 3 as we are have a successful history at competitions. Now if it's marching band, then we are easily the best all around and consistently compete at Nationals and win many local competitions. (Come join our band program, unless you really suck then go to Panther Creek or Green hope).
