It's OK, some teachers are nice and some are really strict. Some kids are academic and some are just there for fun, don't take school seriously, and are disrespectful to other kids. The staff is 75/25. Your kids might love or hate this school but I say it's an OK school.

My son is in his third year and I am very happy with Bailey Middle School. The teachers and staff are smart and professional. The curriculum is challenging and I feel that my son will be well prepared for high school. There are many extracurricular opportunities. Principal Thomas is caring, friendly and the students know he has high expectations for them. Yes, there are more kids per class than a private school but the students learn to be independent and responsible. Isn't that what we want for them? On to Hough next year and we are excited!

Unfortunately my child had a horrible experience because a member of the administration had an issue with me. She would question my child of my relationship status, whether or not I receive child support, and whether I drink. My child did not inform me of any of this until two weeks before school ended. I chose not to address the situation but instead be thankful it was at the end of the year and that we would get a fresh start when she went to high school. This is a decision I regret to this day. However being an outsider, not knowing anyone in this area and seeing that she had a lengthy record of excellence at the school I did not think we would be taken seriously. Whether or not that would've happened is non issue. The important thing would be to show my child that we stand up for what we know is right regardless of who it is or what the circumstances are. Being a veteran you would think that would have been a no-brainer for me.

The office staff are so completely rude and arrogant. Wanted to register my brother into the school and the office worker literally threw papers at me and told me to get out. My mother asked if she could do the papers now because the high school allows it. She told my mother no with a stern, mean attitude. However, this is not all. My brothers second day at the school he forgot his lunch number in a class room and asked to go get it. A teacher told him yes and he got up to go get it. The door was locked but when he went back to tell a teacher they ignored him and he did not get to eat lunch. How did they let this happen? It is absolutely ridiculous.

Teachers and administrators do not know what they are doing and are very mean not just to me but to everyone. I’ve seen office workers tell parents to get out, seen them give attitude to parents etc. This is a school where you are supposed to be a nice person - that’s why you picked this job.
