Great school when you are there....a bit gentrified but we can't help it. As far as getting thru to the school via phone...may the force be with you, especially after 2:30pm

The school is a great and good school but there is a problem with some of the middle school teachers such as mr.roy and another teacher mr.lee One doesn't teach at all while the other overloads you with things to do and in a way embarrasses you.

My child is in 2nd grade and gets too much homework every night. The teacher expects too much from 2nd graders. Not happy at all with my child's teacher. I feel she doesn't communicate well with parents to help the children improve. She only spoke negative about my child and didn't advise on ways to improve my child's grades. I can't wait to take my child to another school. Very bad decision for enrolling my child in PS 282.

Most of the teacher's are great and they try but the school has no real control over the kids that bully and make it very hard for kids that want to learn to actually learn or for kids to feel safe, its sad because other than that the school would be a really great school

My son goes to Park Slope School 282 and we couldn't be happier there. The new Principal has implemented terrific, progressive changes and my son is doing fun project work and learning a lot. His reading and math are a grade or two above and every day he is talking about a new fund project they are working on. I really like the balance of academics and enrichment - he's doing a musical performance, in a play, learning coding,, on a championship chess team. Plus, the diversity at the school means his friendship circle looks like Brooklyn. There are active and caring parents.

I have two children at 282, one on 1st Grade and one in Pre K. I couldn't be happier with my experience here, nothing beats picking up your son to hear him say 'today has been the best day ever!' - every day :-) They are both learning tremendous amounts, I'm shocked regularly about their knowledge and feel lucky with the well-rounded education they receive. The best part for me, a progressive, focused principal with an open-door policy and a fabulous parent community, a very family-like environment.

Our daughter is in kindergarten G&T and we love the school. The principal is a great leader and very passionate about raising the bar in the school in all areas. The school is diverse and the parents are lovely. They get HW, but it's been good for our daughter--she is in the end of kindergarten and is interested in reading chapter books (which we help with of course).

My children (three) have attended this school from 1st through 8th grade. I've had an overall pleasant experience. The staff is really attentive, i receive notices and updates when nessacery and my kids generally like the school. I don't have any complaints.

I mean, from my experience there as a middle schooler, its not a sxchool i recommend. the people there can like bully you or something like the students and its just plain stupid and the trachers are boringg. i'm very glad i moved out of that school, because if i was still there i would have been begging :(

An amazing school that goes from strength to strength. A very active PTO and friendly family community. Both my children go here and love it. Come and see for yourself!

They had lots of bullying and I don't recommend this school. Gifted and talented had its ups and downs but kids in other programs disliked the GT kids a lot. Bullying was an issue especially with a guidance counselor who procrastinated and could only find temporary solutions to permanent problems . So, even in gifted and talented there was a lot of sketchy stuff.

I really disliked this school with a passion, I would not recommend it. Some teachers just straight out embarrass you in front of the class or just don't prepare you at all. Very noisy and chaotic.
