This school is terrible. They call themselves the "safest school in Brooklyn". Yet they always have an intruder in the building, you know how many times this school has been on lockdowns. Jesus christ. The teachers? Careless. The students? disrespectful. The bullying is out of control. Kids bringing guns to school and what not and the security guards be telling them to put it away instead of reporting it. Not a safe enviroment. The lunch is disgusting, the water fountains? broken. Bearley heating and then when it's hot, there's no a.c no nothing. The guidance conselours? terrible not all but terrible, speacially the new ones. These deans are racist belive me or not but it's true I am a student there I have no reason to lie. Kids smoking in the bathroom and in the luchroom no one says nothing. They need to downsize those programs and put better programs that are actually going to help student's carreer like theather or something the only afterschool program they have is Football, Volleyball, and cheerleading, like are you serious?. The bathrooms are disguisting oh my lord, I don't even know how to describe that bathroom, somebody did the number 2 in the girls bathroom in 2016 , the stall is still like that and it's 2018. I know this is a public school but this school needs do something, cause new utrecht is a mess.

The teaching and environment were great. I was a student at this before. There are many bullying going on. Many students fight and get in trouble often. Those blacks, Hispanics, Indians, and Chinese Americans were very rude and frequently get into trouble. One black guy slap me for no reason! Many of them seem mentally ill. I have faced so many issues from them. School is getting more worse each year as they make exams and rules more easier and comfortable

This school is such a painful experience. In addition, some of the teachers are very helpful, while others are rude and do not consider the needs of other students and treat them very negatively. The work does not prepare anyone for college because the work is a complete joke. There are constantly fights in school and the teachers are not that great at trying to prevent any further fights from taking place. The school looks good, but the environment and teachers and the surroundings of the school need to be improved.

Worst school I have ever set my foot in. The guidance counselors have SUCH nasty attitudes. I came in 3 weeks back requesting something. Now they tell me "it's too late you never requested please get out of our office, I'm not doing this now." Absolutely horrible. If you don't want to help kids don't sign up to be a guidance counselor. Ugh, also this school sucks, it is ugly, shabby, classrooms are horrid. The students are the worst... F- WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

If You ever want go high school don’t go new Utrecht high School. This is the worst high school. Even u go all your class the teacher will fail depends if the teacher like you if they don’t like you. Always put you absent You going fail your class. And always send envelope to your house and call your parent. There fight everyday in school.

I attended NUHS from 1984 to 1988. I did well considering it was a major change from attending Catholic School. School is what you make of it. From what I have seen on most of these reviews is horrible writing skills. Its no wonder most comments gave negative reviews. If you do not put in the effort to graduate you will not achieve the outcome.

My mom went to this highschool... She graduated like in the 90's or 80's some thing like that, my friends cousin and my moms friends son also go here, also girls from my summer camp go here, they all say it's a great school, Although it can be inappropriate sometimes as I've heard... I don't go to this school I'm in 8th grade, I'm thinking on going to this school but not sure... My mom said she used to sometimes get bullied, but if you have a group of friends u stay with, ur safe. It is a pretty decent school in my opinion but I don't no for sure considering I don't go here. Anyway I'll update my review in the future, if I end up going here. Until then...

First of all I am a student in this school and I hate it with passion. In this school a lot of rules doesn't apply to it's students, teachers, and maybe staff members. I saw many students and teachers cuss and say inappropriate things and not get punished for it. The environment is terrible for learning since there are many fights and many distractions for example the students don't care. They text in class and distract others like me who wants to learn and often play music in class. The teacher are just useless since 95 percent of the student population doesn't care. Students smoke cigarettes, weed, marijuana whatever I don't know what they do to get high. And once I saw this kid selling some kind of green ball of leaves or something in the locker room. Talking about the locker rooms, it is dirty like the bathroom and the cafeteria you do not know how much bugs and rats I saw in this school. Also this school is affecting me in a negative way since we learn from teachers and other students. The teachers and students are bad I am getting worse and worse because no one cares in this school. My grades drop from 92 to 84 and I don't care you see how bad environment influences me to do nothing. Lets see students smoke and teachers aren't bother by it and I also an used condom in the lunchroom and there are adult students like 18-22 year old dudes taking Viagra I think, because he told me about how it made his thing larger. I no longer feel safe in this school since there are violence and many other disgusting things doing with racism. I hope I can go to college soon to leave this nightmare and please do not come to this school if you care about education because it will ruin you. I hate all the students because of their behavior they don't respect anyone and always talk too much and screams like wild animals. I am scared someday I would be attacked and somehow addicted to drugs because of this school...........................................Maybe the principle doesn't care too because I never seen or heard about her. It is mysterious how this school is still open I bet the principle paid the gov't of education a lot of money. I tried so hard to not cuss, curse, and swear in my comment so in return don't ever come to this school because its for your own good. Oh ya, I made up this random name from an anime so the school doesn't know about me since you don't know what they would do to you, just to be safe.

As a parent I am going to say this was the best choice my son could have made. He graduated this past June. He is now attending college. His four years at New Utrecht were amazing. He was on the football team and made many lifelong friends including his coaches teammates and classmates. The teaching staff and school staff were amazing and they created an environment that made the kids want to be there whether there was school or not. During vacations I heard my son and many of his friends comment that that can't wait for school to start again. As for the coaches well there isn't a bad thing I can say, they are dedicated to the kids and push for them to get good grades. Definitely no dumb jocks here. These boys are smart and caring . I am so glad my son chose New Utrecht, I would definitely recommend this school to anyone looking for a high school now.

As a student here at New Utrecht high school it was the best choice i made for my self going to this school. These four years would be one of the best moments in my life because the environment you have at New Utrecht is great, individuals are incredible at New Utrecht from the staff to the students we all get along and enjoy our time here in this high school. I'm a student athlete and I've worked to maintain my focus from scholl to the field in order to become a better person. I would recommend individuals that are interested come to New Utrecht you would have a tremendous four years of your life time its worth it.

I hate to admit this but this is really sometimes annoying. I like the school but I don't like they just change your programs automatically giving you so much pressure also. Also, some teachers I really don't like it, I hate teachers that are way too passion to students. Also I would also say too much Chinese students. I'm a Chinese but I don't really like too much. Teachers are fine. I would maybe recommend this school. Actually they are not worse as expected. To me this school gives me some headache. Some attitudes in this school gives me side emotions, like some teachers are nicely treat us positively and entertain us through lesson while other teachers don't do that.
