I’ve been going here for about a year and a half now, and I can say with certainty it is outstanding. My guitar instructor helped me play guitar in one year as well as some people who have been playing for 5 or more years (some of that has to do with the fact that I had previous music knowledge before [piano] and that I probably practiced more than the average) but the instructors are great. As far as the performance part of it, you can join bands that play at local venues; performing songs from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, metal, jazz, and basically any other music that you want. The only downside is that if you join one of the performance bands you can’t do originals; you have to do covers of other bands—but that is aside from the businesses main purpose—to teach the basics of rock music and get you performing it in front of an audience. There are mostly kids classes from ages 8-18 or something like that, but their is also a young adult program set up here for those a little bit older.

School of Rock Albuquerque is amazing! The staff and instructors are incredible. My son has learned so much and has grown not only as a musician but also as a person and since he started taking lessons here. It is a safe environment for kids to hang out with their friends and play music. I wish I’d had a place like this to go to when I was a teenager.

This place is amazing for kids and adults, I only wish it was around when I was a kid. My child loves coming here and has learned so much. They get individual lessons in instruments and coaching as a band and learn to play with each other and the end of semester shows are amazing for all levels of performers. If you are looking for a place for you kid (or yourself) to take music lessons they'll love, this is the place.
