I highly recommend VLACS for several reasons. First, the quality of the guidence and teaching staff is top notch. I'm very impressed with the conversations and interaction they have with the students routinely. Second, the classes are very thorough, challenging and free of subjective opinions and political biases. That can be a problem in some of the smaller schools in our area. Third, the students have more choices regarding subject matter and how they want to fulfill graduation requirements. Finally, the VLACS graduation ceremony was outstanding.

I don't know what to say....You would think virtual learning would be less intimate, less involvement, less interesting, maybe education that is not up-to-par with brick-n-mortar schools or mainstream learning. On the contrary, it is 'more' of all of those things. VLACS has devised a program that keeps teens interested and challenges them continually. From the regular classes to the dual-credit Southern New Hampshire University classes, my child is challenged and with that challenge she becomes fulfilled as a learner. She has been to a mix of public as well as private schools and I would say this is the best educational experience for her or at least very close to her Montessori experience where the Montessori philosophy is to make sure that each learner peeks at their educational potential which is individually crafted for their own particular interests. VLACS does all this, individualizes her education so she gets the most out of it and isn't becoming bored while waiting on others to move ahead with the curriculum. VLACS provides all of this while keeping abreast of who the learner is and providing the necessary supports towards their success. Nobody should fail in VLACS because VLACS administration and teachers will keep the learner in the forefront, wrapping their services around each learner one by one. I never expected such a great program. It is innovative and enlightening. I am delighted my child was referred to VLACS and will be graduating from VLACS in 2020.

VLACs is an amazing program! I was a student here from 8th grade to 12th grade and I am so glad I decided to do my last years of schooling here. The teachers are very nice and are almost always available when you need them! Plus, you can work at your own pace! You can make your own pace chart to graduate earlier or even schedule out your entire school year so you can plan things like vacation, work, and sports!

I can not say enough about VLACS. My oldest daughter went to the local high school her freshman year and asked the following summer if she could be home schooled. I told her to present a solid plan and through research, she came across VLACS. I reached out with all of my concerns and was quickly eased with the professionalism, the knowledge and the genuine care. They held our hands (so to speak) through the whole process and as of Friday, June 8th, my oldest graduated with a 4.2. She has been offered scholarships to every college she applied to. VLACS is a great choice for anyone! There is never an email or phone call that is not promptly answered and everyone is available to help you. Thank you VLACS for all you have done and all you do for our children.

My daughter was not thriving in a typical public school, so I opted to do online schooling for her. I'm so glad I did. VLACS has been amazing so far. Teachers communicate with her on a constant basis, and her grades are back up to where they should be. As a parent, if you think your child is going to do this without any support, you're wrong. I have my own 'parent binder' to make sure my daughter stays on track with assignments, I am nearby when she does her lessons so that if she has any questions about anything, she can ask. There is always teacher support available as well. I really couldn't ask for a better online school for my child.

Awful, don't make your kids do this. The teachers are like emotionless and it stresses you out. Very tedious work and not very clear instructions that make you confused. DBAs keep you back and that stresses you out, you get guilted by the teachers. Terrible, horrible, probably only good for adults

We love all the staff at VLACS. They have been very supportive and encouraging. The flexible schedule allows my son to work when he is most focused and at his own pace. VLACS is set up for success. My sons self esteem has doubled and he enjoys learning. We are so grateful for VLACS.

Vlacs is a great way to earn credits in high school. Vlacs is not for everyone though. Personally I love it but many of my friends who have tried it had a hard time with it. You need self motivation and dedication.

I took Physical Science and my instructor, Susan Marjerison, was amazing! This was my first time doing online learning. Mrs. Marjerison helped walk me through how to navigate the course. She was very knowledgeable, organized, and she was always available to support me. I had such a positive experience that I have started a second online course through VLACS. Thank you VLACS and Mrs. Marjerison!

VLACS has been great for my daughter. She started when she was in 5th grade, had to take 6th grade classes because 5th and under are not available. I was a little concerned about this at first but she has thrived in her education through VLACS. She is now in her third year with VLACS. The experience has been so much better than my 2 older kids who are in traditional education. There has been no allowance for grades to slip due to teacher communication, unlike my 2 older children. The work is challenging, in fact she has helped her brother with some of his math work in the past even though she is 2 grades below him. She has decided for social reasons she would like to go back to public school and I am confident that her experience with VLACS has more than prepared her for this transition and my only concern is that she may be bored, due to being ahead a grade and knowing that she has already covered any of the work she will be given. Thank you VLACS!

VLACS is a great program, but you need dedication. It is hard to constantly submit assignments at a pace. If your children goes to school already, then I would say that VLACS is unneeded.

My daughter attended VLACS for her final 2 years of high school and it was a great experience. The discipline required to get work done on her own schedule was great preparation for what she'll experience in college. Teachers were great, always felt like she was given the tools to succeed. Highly recommend.

Our family has used VLACS for the past 7 years and will be using their program for the next 6 as our youngest just started with them this past school year. We have had 2 graduates already (2016 & 2017) and a 3rd will be graduating by the end of 2018, thanks to their rolling enrollment & ability to school anytime, any place, any pace. Vlacs is one of the best things New Hampshire ever done! One of my child registered 3 honor courses(chem, physics and bio) with Vlacs. Vlacs is very flexible, allows students to take courses with their own pace. My son needed to finish honor bio in 4 months so he could take AP bio with his high school. The teacher worked with him and created a plan. He finished the course just in time. He also takes honor chem and physics to prepare him for AP chem and AP physics at school. He wanted to take the courses slow. He worked with the same chem teacher for more than a year now. The dedication of the teachers and the communication between the teachers and my son were particularly impressive. It is not just about learning chem or physics, more importantly, the experience to worked with adults who are inspiring and passionate about science. I have recommended Vlacs to many of my friends.

VLACS is a game-changer! Honestly, I was nervous to enroll my son but it was the best academic decision I have ever made for him. The VLACS model fit his learning style perfectly. Being able to communicate one-on-one with his instructor and work at his own pace, allowed him to excel. His grades have never been this high! And he did more work in his VLACS classes than in the classes he took in the "traditional classroom". It is a win-win for everyone ... give it a chance! I am so glad I did :)

We have been really happy using VLACS for our child's education. The school offers live, one-on-one tutoring with teachers (using web cam), advanced courses, and even accredited college courses. This beats Khan Academy and all the other online child education out there!

They don't update directions for assignments often. So I've had to constantly look up how to do something because it differs from the directions and the rubric has different requests than the instructions, took me 2 class periods to do a 20 min assignment.

The online program that Vlacs offers really engages you to think! The lessons make sense and make you want to learn! The teachers here are very nice! You should go here and try it out! Update: I have finished my first course for math and it was wonderful! Once again, a must for people who want to learn online at their own pace.

My daughter started to attend VLACS in her freshman year. She started taking 3 classes, then made the decision to become a full time student. It was the best decision she ever made, for medical reasons she was absent/tardy/early dismissal and accumulating a lot of missed time. With VLACS she could make her own schedule, work evenings and weekends if she wanted to. Every single instructor, teacher, guidance counselor and office staff were always there for us. The bonds my daughter made through VLACS are going to last her lifetime. My daughter is graduating VLACS Class of 2018, she will be attending SNHU this fall with a four year Presidential Scholarship. She didn't due this alone, a big part of her accomplishment is due to VLACS and their incredible staff and support. I would recommend this Charter School to anyone and will definitely miss each and everyone of them.

I took this and it is kind of a mix between its not bad and its bad. one of the teachers is really rude and doesnt have the patients and when I called her she always be very rude and on the edge kind of thing. my family is really busy and if you already go to school Im saying it would be to much the teacher who isnt patient always emails me about calling and when i go to make appointment the only times she can call me is when im at school. and they never told me i had to get a 80 or more to pass so now here i am stressed out trying to finsh in time. dont do vlcas

VLACS was there to bolster the curriculum at my kids school. Getting them ready for college. The flexibility of the calendar allowed my daughter to dance and perform during the academic year. It allowed my son to have enough rigor to prepare him for vector calculus at college. VLACS has caring teachers that look for and bring out the best in their students.

Flexibility in when kids learn and how they learn! Love the variety of classes and the fact that kids can enroll in classes above their official grade level. Great option for kids in sports, internships, or other unique scheduling circumstances. Vlacs is super resource for New Hampshire!

My daughter has taken numerous courses through VLACS and has had a positive experience with all of them; she especially likes the teachers. We both like the format of learning at your own pace and being required to meet competencies before moving forward. Having a number of avenues or pathways to choose from in terms of meeting competencies is yet another positive aspect of VLACS.

VLACS has been an absolutely positive experience for our family. Our daughter was home-schooled through 8th grade and became a part-time student last year and transitioned to full-time for high school. During enrollment, I worked with one of the admin staff (Bridget Hopkins) who assisted me with the enrollment process, explained the program and registered our daughter for two classes. I can't say enough about how much that support and guidance meant. As we transitioned to high school we have found that the staff (instructors, administration and support) have been nothing short of amazing. They are very supportive whenever our daughter has questions or needs help. Almost all of her instructors have gotten to know her on a personal level so a trusting relationship is formed and they are comfortable with each other. Our daughter is thoroughly enjoying her experience (as are we) which allows her the freedom and flexibility to pursue her theatre goals, while continuing to learn and grow academically.

Our daughter took a Veterinary Science course with Jackie Gilbert and it was a great experience. She is entering a pre-vet program this fall at her university and the information she gained from this VLACS course will certainly help her. The instructor was very easy to communicate with, quick feedback on assignments and excellent discussions. I loved how it helped prepare her for the online learning community prior to college. I would highly recommend your child taking a VLACS course and of course 100% recommend Ms. Gilbert for a teacher. My daughter felt comfortable from day 1 and Ms.Gilbert shows a genuine interest in her students and helping them be successful while taking her course. Frequent check-ins with us ( the parents) was greatly appreciated as well.
