IT'S NOT AS BAD AS EVERYONE SAYS IT IS I suffer from really bad social anxiety and have bipolar disorder. I'm a freshman and most of the teachers understand my anxiety and let me work at my own pace to help prevent any breakdowns and panic attacks. Yes drugs are sold in the school and weapons are found in the school but that's why we have metal detectors now and most high schools in NY sell drugs in them there aren't fights everyday 24/7 and some of the teachers are really nice I'm in the agriculture program. The only lockers we have that we use are in the gym locker room.

This is the best school ever I am currently graduating in 2016. I started in 2012. I have many memories . it offers great programs such as doschi center for writing and ROTC. I loved everything about this school and since the begging that I enterd I've never been in an encounter with a student. The school is great but be careful who you choose as friends because those who you associate yourself with is who you'll become. Highly recommend to anybody that was planning to go to this school.

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me my daughter is at John Brown high school she is freshman she auditioned for student union program and did not get in. she 98% average she is very disappointed I was wondering if there is anything that I can do or anyone could help me for her to get into the program it's something that she really wanted.

I'm currently a senior at JBHS and I can say since the first day I walked in freshman year I've felt nothing but welcomed in this school. The overall population of the school is super friendly, great teachers, awesome guidance counselors, not to mention the great programs the school has to offer like Agriculture, STEM, ACA and JROTC. I've had a wonderful experience at this school and I wouldn't trade it for the world. However, the one thing that does give the school a bad wrap are the few delinquents present in the school and the few teachers that are subpar at their job. Don't let this fact discourage you though, you won't find a school where that kind of stuff isn't present in queens. I highly recommend you consider going here!

I loved this school while i attended it....the teachers were all amazing the classes were fun and equally amazing....i was in the agriculture program and absolutely loved it....i was also a part of the leadership program and enjoyed that as well...im sad i didnt get to finish high school here and wish i could come back and do it all over again...i was in 3 different high schools and this was by far the best one....

I have a good time in this school and most of teachers are really helpful. However, one of the science teacher in this school didn't have any responsibility of teaching students. She ignore student's question and blame everything on her students. Not only me but most students in her class aren't satisfy of her attitude. Why can JBHS still not fire her? We want a teacher who can teach and respect us, instead of been a person who only concern about loosing job.

I'm a sophomore becoming a junior and let me just say bowne is a ok school yes there's a lot of fights and complaints but being honest I like it yes of course there's a lot of ghetto kids and the teachers aren't the greatest but go into agriculture program and it will change your life I'm a aggie myself and I love it out of all the teachers at this school they are the best
