Great school! My daughter transferred out of district from Chippewa Middle School (Mounds View) and although I was skeptical at first, I now believe that it was one of the best decisions. Great staff, beautiful school and wonderful students. We are so much happier!

As a attendant, I do not recommend it. One year, several kids brought Vodca to school, and tried to get others along with themselves drunk. There is always drama happening, but that is a part of growing up. Although they do have several assembles for bullying, they do not help. Just being told to stop isn't going to stop any pre-teen. The councilers office is almost always full, due to kids being bullied, racist comments, and much more. Kids are not taught how to deal with bullies, wich is a major problem. The school is packed, and halls are "push your way through, or don't get to class". You will be lucky to walk between classes without hearing fowl language, or being thrown to the floor. As for the staff, many teachers are short-tempered, and are not good with students. One of my teachers wouldn't let us take our eyes off them because then we wouldn't be paying attention, we had to have our hands on top of our desk, and we couldn't squirm, or shift. That class was horrific for me because I am one who is always bouncing my knee, I ended up not learning anything from that class because I was too focused on following all her strict rules. I don't ever want to sent my children to this school, and I believe you shouldn't either.

Stardust Night

I am a former student of this school and I am 19 now. I still live nearby and keep myself updated on what goes on there because my niece will be attending that school in a few years. I have to say that I would never subject any child to the horror that is CMS. There is a very bad bullying problem at this school along with a drug problem. Some of the staff there don't treat the students fairly at all and blame victims of bullying for what happened to them. I was picked on so badly at that school that I transferred out to online school. When I was in 7th grade I was almost stabbed by another student and he didn't even get expelled. The faculty doesn't pay attention to this problem either, most of the time it seems like they just blow it off. As for drugs, you can pretty much by some from at least one kid in any grade. That includes Marijuana, synthetic cocaine (bath salt), K2 (Synthetic Marijuana), Acid, and even sometimes crystal meth. I should know, I knew a kid who sold all of these things out of his locker when I went to school there.

I go to this school right now. I am on 8-03. It is very nice, they have welcomed me into this state very kindly. There is no drug problem they even get k9 dogs to smell the lockers. There is a very small bullying problem but doesn't every school. Overall this school is very nice.

Honestly I haven't even been to the middle school well maybe for summer school but that's about it I mean it's summer school was pretty good so I'll do a 5-star rating for that but my sister says that 601 is bad and she said 602 is okay I think or 603 or she said 602 or 6:03 or something like that is bad I can't know I can't remember what she said but

Just attended the middle school orientation. They do an amazing job educating and welcoming the parents and the kids. Love that the counselors stay with the kids for all three years. They just do things in such a smart logical way. I highly recommend the school!
