Allow me to weave a tale for you. A tale of heartache, lose, embarrassment, shame and of course, public expulsion of the slippery black liquid that must surely be the blood of Satan. I was at a family event, which happened to be a ballet. As is customary at venues such as these, there was a lovely little bake sale set up in the entryway which housed all manner of decadent confectionaries and baked treats that both stirred my hunger and saddened it all the same. I could not help but sneak over to the table to peruse the assortment. Then, through the haze of custard-filled cupcakes, mouthwatering brownies and tutu shaped sugar cookies, I saw them. A gleaming light at the end of a sweets filled tunnel; my salvation in the sea of sugar. If only I knew… If only I could have known. Lovingly wrapped in individual sized, hand-made plastic baggies and tied with delicate siphon ribbon, lay my salvation atop the mountains of delectable morsels. Gummy bears are my thing, so I had to have some. The person asked what I’d like. I could hardly contain myself as I exclaimed “a package of gummy bears please!” I merrily snacked on the little multi-colored gems of pure pleasure as the concert got underway. The ballet performers were charming and the scene was festive. It was a perfect night… right up until the first rumble that alerted me to the possibility of danger. It started off quiet and subtle much like the performance, but soon it too grew to a crescendo. As I shifted my weight in the hard plastic seats, I knew I was in trouble the moment I touched my brow. Beads of warning sweat had started to form, though soon the trickle would give way to a deluge. I loosened my special Christmas tie and dabbed at my face with my sleeve in an effort to remain.. My mother noticed my anguish and leaded over to ask me what was wrong. I tried to tell her… I really did, but the pain had become more then I could bear as a painful tide crashed upon me. Try as I might, the bears were fighting back, seemingly set on draining my body, in it’s entirety, of life giving liquid. Then it happened. I thought it was nothing. It was just to relieve some of the pressure I told myself. What started as an attempt to allow only gas to leave quickly turned into a levy shattering entirely. I gripped my mother’s hand and looked with tearful eyes into hers, begging for forgiveness as the expulsion sloshed like Niagara falls onto the theater floor. I sobbed silently as the shame overtook me and there was nothing else to do but expel the demon from my core. “Oh my God!” One woman cried as she was swept away in the torrent. She was never seen again. I begged all that was holy, any Gods that were listening, to take pity on my wretched soul and deliver me from this hell. Yet none answered. There was only the flow. It gushed out of me despite the screams of the others in my row and those around them. I couldn’t have stopped it if I tried, but God help me… I didn’t. I couldn’t. The comingling of relief, searing pain and shame sounded in my cries for mercy. I must have blacked out from the pain. Because when I came to I was laying on my back in my own filth with two paramedics standing over me. They were obviously trying to suppress their gagging as they worked on me. I couldn’t blame them. The stench was overwhelming; thick and oppressive like a sickly sweet blanket on a warm summers eve. As they carted me out I heard one of them screaming to a stage hand for a bucket… apparently I wasn’t done just yet. I begged them for my family but they simply screamed. The next two days were a blur of IV’s, doctors and what I think was an African Medicine man, though I was on some heavy duty painkillers. When I was finally released I was mad. I could come to only one conclusion. The devil himself must laugh at we mortal for we are his playthings. 10 out of 10 would come to school again

Has to be one of the worst schools in Michigan. The fact is if you don't play sports than you wont be treated as equal as everyone else. I know this because I was treated very unfairly and different because I did not play until my last year of high school. School it old, teachers can be prevented and hypocritical...(Mrs. Theirry Spanish teacher who got fired for owning a selling weed on her weed farm(I was in her Spanish class when she got fired) & Mr. Lambs the perverted gym teacher who also got fired for touching and looking at younger high school girls and he was a long time teacher there & and lets not forgot the creepy Mr. Weaver who hugs the underage girls a bit to much lol) and your child will most likely not learn anything due to teachers like Mr. Ball & Mr. Titus(recently fired)( who would literally lock the door some days and tell us to have out a piece of paper in case the principal came in.) Their are some good teachers that do really love the kids and are passionate about what they do but the majority are old cruel things that seem to abuse their authority and demand obedience out of their students. I went to this school from 2010-2014, I'm about to graduate college and when I'm reminded about anything in this school it brings back such unwanted emotionally painful memories that no kid, teenager or early adult should ever go through. Please Please PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. Do you research and send them to a reasonable decent high school. Hope this helps as I wish my parents had read something like this before sending their child here.

I honestly can say, as a not-so-much-as delinquent student, as a 2011 graduate at Bedford Senior High school, I loved Bedford and how they ran their school. Sure there were a few things that needed tweaks but, what school doesn't? Bedford is a great school and I would recommend this school to many of my family and friends.

I went there a long time ago. Class of 1970. I found my high school education excellent preparation for college. When I was a senior at Bedford, I took the CLEP test. I tested out of 2 years of college english and received a total of a whole year's worth of college credit. When I went to graduate school at Yale, academically if not culturally, I did very well. It was a little shocking to see the socioeconomic class arrogannce of the rich coming from the proletarian midwest but I was just as intelligent as anyone else, and a harder worker than most.

You will hate this school by stepping a foot into it . If you're not in football or sports your treated like trash and thats a fact. Id prefer any other school possible .

When sending your child here expect your child to be treated like they are nothing. If they have any problems expect them to be ignored and nothing being accomplished. Also, expect some teachers to not teach your child anything educational, teachers to complain they haven’t gotten raises to their students, oh and if you try to get out of a class for any reason, good luck with that! If your child is in gym class, you may want to watch out for old creepy gym teachers who try to touch there students. Also don’t forget the door security, these old lady’s will fight for your life if a school shooter comes in. However, many doors of the school are unlocked with zero security but if this happens don’t worry they will run to the rescue. They also keep children from wandering the halls and eating any food from the vending machines. These children can get yummy food from the lunch room though so don’t worry. A meal only cost about $4, which usually comes with little food but the nutritional value is very high! Thanks Obama! If your child decides to graduate from Bedford High School cap and gown only costs $75 and yearbooks range from 60-80$. Great deal! Tissues however are a big cost to the school and usually can only afford 1 box for 1 teacher per semester so make sure to send your child with some tissues or they will have to blow there nose on the sandpaper toilet paper. Sports is also a big, big part of this school. Your child probably won’t be treated as well as others unless they are put into sports so make sure they sign up for one! Overall it’s really a great school! (P.s. make sure you have a hall pass if you want to go into the library to read or pick out a book they usually don’t promote this)

First, I would like to say thank you some of my high school teachers who were amazing. There were times when I didn't care about the subject; however, that really didn't stop them from teaching me some important skills. I wished we learned more about things that would better prepared us for college; however, the few course that did prepared me for college were some of the best classes I will ever have. I won't debate that some teacher shouldn't be teaching; however, that isn't to say that I agree with other people who review our school without experiencing it firsthand. My final thought is that I wished most of the course transfer so that when I got to college, I didn't have to take certain courses over. I will always be proud of the fact that I graduate with a bunch of amazing people. Class of 2k14.

This school's administrators do not seem to care about the students' well being. Every time you go to an assistant principal with a problem, they either act like you're wasting their time and basically give you the cold shoulder, or they say that they can't do anything to help you. It's a lose lose situation no matter what and from what i have seen, administrators abuse their power a lot. Do not choose to go to this school. The only reason people go to this school is because we are basically stuck here because it just happens to be the district we live in. I am class of 2019 and I cannot wait to get the hell out of here.

Foreign language should not be required for graduation. Most lessons taught in many subjects are entirely irrelevant to social life, in all manners

I love eating the burgers that come straight fresh from the freezer, they don't even bother to warm it up. They are legit BEloW room temperature, let alone warm. At least the chicken nuggers and potato salads are decent.

Oh I could go on forever about this place. Send your children here if you want a sub-par education that does not prepare the students at all for further education following graduation. They funnel their money into sports and away from the education system. Unless your child is in sports, the staff of the school will not show the slightest interest in the child existing, being bullied, or struggling with grades. Half the teachers are completely inept and incapable of doing their job and if it is brought up, with proof as well, the teacher will not be reprimanded and your child will suffer more as a consequence. I'm not sure if the teachers are still there but some are sexist or trying to get in good with a high schooler (opposite gender will always have higher grades in some classes and awkward sexual tension). You almost would infer that the people that are a part of Bedford school district are still mentally high school aged and trying to fit in with the "cool kids" despite being rejected when younger. Get your child a computer and have them homeschooled and sign them up for homeschool groups so they can still socialize because this school district will set your child up for failure, as they do not instruct the children in a constructive way or support the child. I love art but it will not help your child become ready to write an English composition paper, understand our country in any capacity, or any college class at that. They use art as "busy work" (instead of as a tool to grow the student's creativity) so most teachers do not have to actually grade a written paper decreasing the actual teaching. So I suppose on top of being inept they are lazy as well. My favorite punishment that they did to us was shut down bathrooms if someone vandalized them and make you walk to other side of building. Great if all your classes are on one side of building but it will make a normal person late to their classes so the school can punish them for needing the bathroom. Also you are only allowed to go to the bathroom a few times a trimester before they tell you no. So apparently learn how to not use the bathroom for 9 hours (I had to because it was just too much of a hassle to use the restroom and then get punished for being late or be told no during class; teach your child to just walk out and use the restroom, they are a human being). I graduated in 2008, 3.5 GPA, never any detention or suspension EVER, and had to essentially teach myself. From what I have heard it is not improving there, as well as the school is falling apart and not kept up on. Remember Michigan is school choice, get your child out of the Bedford school district or maybe the community should get together and do something about it, instead of allowing it to continue (hint: elections are a thing use them to your advantage and run for school board and make a positive change).
