I live in England (Liverpool) and have been trying to write a song about 'Ruby Nell Bridges' for over a year now, this historic building keeps drawing me to it for inspiration. Street names, the pavements she walked etc. Maybe the project is to complex and might be destined to stay as an instrumental. One day a true visit in person might pursuade the vocals. x

This school is a true landmark in US history. At 6 years old, Ruby Bridges was the first child to integrate the Louisiana public school system on November 14 of 1960. The front of the school has been restored since Hurricane Katrina and is absolutely worth a visit to the 9th Ward.
