the school isn't bad its actually really good, its for the Einstein's of the district though. the teachers and staff are a bit snotty and arrogant, the front desk secretary was a B***ch and the vice principle Wyatt Tustin is a creep and really rude. For all parents of special needs children My daughters attended this school. one attended a program at this school for special needs students who just graduated high school called the Meridian transition program, and she hated every minute of it. the teachers in the program were nazis and the staff there treated her and the other students as if they were below everyone else when this was supposed to be teaching them life skills, and she dropped out of the program with lower self esteem than when she started and nightmares of how she was treated. seriously this school will give your child unlimited opportunities but the teachers and staff are bullies, especially towards handicapped children. My daughter who graduated from there flourished and is now in college but never wants to see those people again and my handicapped daughter still has nightmares of the teachers there, id recommend it for education and credit courses but beware the staff.

Overall probably one of the best highschool environments in all of Idaho if you don't care about sports. Course work is (very) hard... and often stress from both the teachers and students causes conflict in the classroom. But if you survive it is well worth your time and money to get an Associates degree or an IB diploma.

Yeehaw and cowboy up for the greatest learning experience of your life! This educational institution is by far the best one I have enrolled in since my very birth. The teachers I studied under were incredible and extremely helpful so long as I let them know of any concerns, and asked them repeatedly when I had no idea what we were just asked to do, or what we were talking about. I already miss many of them, and I am not going to name names because the list would be legendarily long. I'm going to avoid making this review too long, but I've got a lot to say so buckle up I guess. I am not sure of quite how different Renaissance is from any other high school because it is the only one I've ever attended, but that alone is undoubtedly a testament to my satisfaction with the quality of education that I received, and I can easily tell you that I never once considered leaving the school a good idea. What I learned in these halls was not only the information I needed to continue in my career and get a high school diploma, but also how to deal with seemingly impossible tasks and using preparation over procrastination. I plan on sending my own children here, in the event that I do eventually obtain children of my own, and I shall praise the name of Renaissance High School from the highest of hilltops for decades to come (metaphorically). During my time at Renaissance, I was part of the Associates degree program which enabled me to acquire an associate of arts in general studies by the time I graduated high school despite only having set foot within a college for a short summer geology course. This program enabled me to get this associates degree a a ridiculously low price in comparison to doing it in college after graduating from high school. This ridiculously low price was not only a beautiful monetary investment but also a glorious time investment, as I've just traded a summer or two of school and probably some extra college related workload for two less years spent in college, and a super inexpensive degree. (There is also an IB program which I think is the main point of the school but I mostly ignored it. For those looking for a different kind of educational challenge, know that IB is available and is just as challenging and life-changing as far as I know). Because I actually experienced the associates program, I can tell you that the teachers we studied under had to meet certain requirements as set by the colleges they were awarding us credit through and this is probably where a student may find difficulty as we are learning college level material, as far as I know (I also have never been to college, other than that one geology course, but I'm pretty sure it was about the same difficulty, I hope to find out very soon how different college learning in high school is from the same thing at college). I've already stated before that I'm not sure quite how different Renaissance is from other high schools, but in my opinion it was about as difficult as I expected education to be following middle school. Although unlike middle school I did actually begin to study for my classes, and sometimes I'd do homework for the whole day and sleep, but man was it worth it. If you are currently attending this school and you feel like quitting, I IMPLORE you to continue to push onward, you've made it this far right? There are resources to help you accomplish your goals, services like the language lounge or even a study group can make the difference, possibly even examine your recreation outside of school and take some time to prepare. I didn't enter this school with a whole lot of acquaintances, and I can tell you with full confidence my closest friends all went to different schools, but someone there should be like minded so you can make new friends. A note from the author?: I thought it'd be funny to put a picture of myself at the end of the review but when I went to upload it I accidentally deleted the review so hopefully I remembered most of it correctly (the format and order of topics has definitely changed). Also I'm out of characters :(

This high school is for the best of the best. The average test score is 99.95 which is an A+ and this is very good for high school students.

I attended this school a couple years ago. I reflect back on my times here and remember how I broadened the way I understood the world through attending the classes provided. This school is rigourous and attracts an eccentric crowd of people who are often willing to dress up, express themselves loudly, or voice their opinion in small groups. The teachers are well chosen and classes are typically engaging. Renaissance tended to have a homework problem because classes were covering so much information.

To all of those people that are bagging on the school just aren't dedicated enough. They choose happiness. What's the point of happiness? Academics are all that matter and GPA, unweighted of course.

I was forced to go here and now im harassed by the front office staff almost constantly and it is excessive and unnecessary

Go here if you want horrible teachers to talk about themselves for half of the class period and then quiz you on the material that they should have taught you while they were talking about themselves.

Renaissance is truly a unique educational experience that isn't for everyone. It's very rigorous, and this causes a lot of people to drop by Junior year. By then, the students that have stayed share a lot of the same interests, and the culture is one of very passionate youth who have a burning desire to learn and succeed. The IB program is one that is offered here, at the only public IB school in the state. The other program students have the opportunity to take is the Associate of Arts program, which lets students get 2 years of college out of the way, but only at an in-state institution.

Beyond my many sentimental and nostalgic recollections, I will always remember Renaissance High School as the most important institution I acknowledged and attended prior to (and likely even after) entering college. The quality of education here rivals those of most other top high schools across the United States, and Renaissance's focus on a global worldview, college readiness, and its statewide standing undoubtedly reflect this fact. Renaissance High School taught me to view schoolwork as not hard, but challenging, not humanities against science, but one integrated into the other, not mathematics as a subject or chore, but as a language in its own right. Behind the knowledge imparted to us Renaissance women and men was also the moral responsibility we had as a result of acquiring that knowledge. The list of what we reaped here goes on, but this also means we worked harder than most to sow. There were many times when my decision to do the IBDP was reconsidered, when I thought about going to my home school and continuing high school there. There were projects (and grades attached to them) that nearly hit dead ends, teachers and due dates to answer to, Theory of Knowledge class. However, we made strong partnerships with both our peers and teachers, and lifted each other out of the aforementioned situations. We learned about leadership and dedication; the soft sides of education that most other high schools would only caress. After journeying through the International Baccalaureate or Concurrent Credit programmes, we walked onto the podium dressed as Voyagers in our caps and gowns. We had broadened our minds and were ready to tackle the world. I strongly believe that Renaissance was a privilege to its students that few others experience. The name of the school says it all.

Best High School in all of Idaho.

I went into school the other day thinking it was going to be a regular day at school when to my dismay there were these two girls pretending they were horses and galloped around me for hours. I was late for my first period class because of this. Almost called animal control smh...

The most important thing you will learn at this school is self-control and self-discipline. Any problems you have will most likely trace back to these.

I used to be a happy kid who had nothing else to worry about other than football at my home school, which I enjoyed. Now my mother is making me see a therapist because she believes that I am depressed. The worst part is, I'm not even sure anymore... only the graduated can know peace from this hell

For any of you who are deciding whether or not to attend, read this. This school will chew you up and spit you out. I attended here for all 4 years of high school, and in those 4 years I saw 75% of my freshman class drop out. Getting a perfect grade point average is nearly impossible, and some of the projects you, will do,will completely baffle you. That being said, I wouldn't have chosen to go anywhere else. This school has a culture where if people don't know something they ask to find it out. I went there with some of the brightest people I had ever met, and the school is full of people with incredible work ethics. If you're like me (not particularlygreat student due to lack of motivation) this is the perfect school for you. But if you are the kind of student who had straight A's your whole life and can't imagine getting a B, this isn't for you. And to all the parents who think that they should force their kids to attend, Don't. The kids who don't want to be there don't last.

It's a great school for those who are willing to dedicate their life to their education. When I say dedicate, I actually am referring to more than just your life. This school will suck your soul right out of you and give it back sometime right before you leave. It keeps you extremely busy to the point that you won't have time to sleep. The great part is that everyone else is sleep deprived, and we all bond over it. We walk around like a family of zombies: eyes twitching, feet dragging and consuming copious amounts of only one type of substance. In this case that substance would be coffee. In all seriousness though, Renaissance is an amazing school and will prepare you well for the future.

This school is such a unique high school, and while it is not for everyone, it is certainly an exemplary school for scholars who treasure education and a challenge. Once those who did not quite belong at such a school had come to the realization and left, what students remained were academic, passionate, intelligent, and mature. The teachers legitimately cared about our education and went above and beyond in every regard to give us the education we needed, and are some of the most competent people I know. Renaissance is what unarguably prepared me for my future of attending an ivy league institution, and I do not regret attending this high school for a second.

This school is amazing! It will transform your life and give you purpose. I would totally recommend this school for anyone who has or wants a strong academic drive to achieve and succeed. Also anyone who wants to get into a great school. RHS has the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, which is the main driving force behind the awesomeness of this school. The teachers are supportive and peers are close with a lot of group solidarity. CAS is a great way to connect academics to the community.
