It is definitely a high school that does not care about its students. Administrators should not be in this profession. This should be a place where students can get an education but unfortunately administrators are too concerned with the policies and procedures and when a parent asks a question the answer is always "It's district policy" There is no consideration to the student as an individual. Teachers can have a bad day and take it out on their student without recourse. The student will be suspended if they voice their concern or opinion. The message the administrator is sending to the student is go away I don't want to deal with you. My own child said to me "this school must not want me to learn" as he was trying to go see a teacher before school and was stopped in the hallway. He was not allowed to see his teacher before school even though I had communicated with the teacher via email her office hours. My child was suspended because he did not have a pass.

Went to this school for my junior year a few years back and I absolutely loved it. My math teacher miss jaussi was absolutely terrible, but other than that I had no complaints. I love the diversity the school had and the vibe was cool. It’s located in a great area and it’s a school I’ll never forget!

That woman not only teaches kids with special needs, but after the bell rings, that's when she really gets to work, fighting for those same kids, making sure they are adequately accommodated, and if I know her, she wouldn't let any protocol, standard, or teaching method go unchecked.

This school has too much sex in hallways and bathrooms , drugs, and the bathrooms are disgusting and nasty and not clean that people act like the are trying to still potty train and it also smell like fish. Too much bullying and teachers don't do nothing. Their are a lot of drama Most of teachers are petty and they think they know everything and they always have an attitude. There are some people that I fear for my life I wish this school would be better. Like what happened last year is when everybody got sick for the 3 days and if 17 people would have confessed about it they would have shut the school down for 3 days and clean the whole school but nope they didn't because people couldn't make up there mind. This school is still dirty anyway that why I rate 1 star but I was going to put 0 I didn't have a choice so I decided to make it 1 star. We need JESUS to pray for this school.

My daughter went to this school when she was in 9th grade. The Office lady was very rude to my daughter ( I was there ) she didn’t know I was her mother behind her. Another time I went in to pick her up and they explained she needed a note drop off at the morning to get her out, acting like I am a child ? Some of the teachers are good teachers but a lot of them I think we’re just hired because they didn’t have English, science teachers ect; A homec teacher named mr coyle was one of the worst. He wouldn’t grade anything. On the progress report my daughter had a 100 and I ask why and she said because only one thing was turned in that he graded. It’s ridiculous. The teachers at this school are bossy, and don’t take there job seriosly. Not to mention my daughter and her friends have said on numerous occasions that the subs cuss? My daughter is not a trouble maker and has always had A’s and B’s so I do believe her. Hillcrest high achool needs to take a better look at what subs they hire,fix there attitude, and have more respect for themselves and the students.

As a student, I believe that this school as a whole has been fantastic at pushing its students to grow and become the best they can. There will always be students who refuse to learn and attend classes in every school, but as long as you are willing to take risks and put yourself out there, you will love it here. Something I have also noticed is the lack of strong cliques(I moved in from out of state)so it doesn't take much to find a group to infuse yourself into(especially the theatre group) P.S.-don't take any class which isn't Honors, AP, or IB even if you don't think you're up to it.

This school is terrible, they could do so much better but constantly fail to do so. Students get towed constantly because they will not provide more parking. students should be able to drive to school & not have to stress throughout the day about if their car will still be there after the 3:45 bell rings. No student wants to ride the buses, they take almost 2 hours to get you home. If they expanded the parking lot to hold more than half of their student body then the problem would be solved. Another issue is how it takes almost 25 minutes to get through a lunch line because only one person is checking out half the lunch room. We only have about 30 minutes to get to lunch, eat, & get back to class. Imagine having 5-10 minutes to eat your lunch because You had to wait in a line for 20 minutes. Big problems with simple solutions.

If you're student isn't apart of the ib or ap program then the teachers don't care about you. More than half the students sluff every period and don't care. Which makes the teachers not care. Do not enroll at Hillcrest. The students are judgmental and rude. It's an awful environment.

The school is full of drugs and pills, everyday students fight with each other even girls fight, which is not a school environment at all. Bullying is everywhere around the corners. Students having sexual interactions at school hallways and stairwells and it is a public school which is supposed to be safe. I'm sorry but this is sickening. Teachers threat students to give referrals for just talking and trying to understand the teachers reason and it seems like it's there job to get our asses kicked out of schools instead of talking to us and trying to understand what a student has been thru and help them. Students are not all the same. They are all different and come from different backgrounds. Teach them the reason to behave in a correct way they are humans not robots.
