This school is ran by incompetent black Women. It’s not the teachers but the front office. My daughter is a top scholar at any school she has attended, lied to about placing her in advanced classes, she’s very bored learning the curriculum she learns at home with me. Very disappointed in the fact the teacher has to reteach information from previous years. I am a parent on both sides of the spectrum having a iep plan for my middle schooler, Brown allowed for a young man to punch my child and I received no phone call. My child comes home in tears a hour later. I then contact school and ask why no call with a reply it just happened. So what she’s a child that was assaulted. When asked for report to file charges. Never received any paper work. This is bullying. I have contacted the board of education to transfer her hopefully my prayers will be answered. I am currently obtaining my degree in education for elementary education and I will not be working with Clayton county unless they fix the problem schools like Brown

I have never seen anything like what I've experienced here at Brown at any of the schools up north or FL. They are unorganized & unporfessional. You speak to the secretaries more than the higher educators or principal's. I had my sons IEP meeting as a transferred student in Feb and got my first copy of it the 1st week of May. Was honestly told by his teacher which by the way hes suppose to be an has always been in a small setting class rm with students like my child an a few role model students but is in a class of 24 w/ a teacher (Ms.Harris) who stated she wasnt sure what to teach my child or give my child cause of his disabilities an what hes capable or not capable of doing mind you she was at all 3 meetings. My child has been bullied by kids at the bus stop where other parents had to step in, on the bus (an was told that his disabilities are to blame, that changed when I called the drivers supervisor & got an apology) & at school. I had a private convo with Ms. Harris my sons home room teacher a few wks back about this an many other things including my son probably going to another school due to me feeling like his IEP needs not being met, a convo not yet brought to my son, he came home that same day an says " Mom, Ms. Harris said she doesnt care if I come back next year, Am I going back to FL or Boston?" His teacher is true definition of unprofessional & clearly could careless if my child excells or succeeds. From state to state & by law IEP's are suppose to uphold. My son gets pulled not placed but pulled out of his teacher's class for an hr or so to get extra help on work he hasnt advanced to. My sons IEP since he was 2 1/2 consist of him getting a small bus, speech an occupational therapy, small class settings w/ 2 teachers to recieve 1 on 1 time, and help with his behaivor/counceling. Brown Elementary started his small bus just 2 wks ago (May) mind you hes been going since Feb. I finally after pulling hair and nails for 2 months got a meeting w/ the phantom or M.I.A principal & her assistant on May 14th which by the way is 4 days before school closes which I did not attend. I contacted a few teachers, my sons pediatrician up North, a teacher in Fl and they were appauled an shocked about the horrible progress my son has made here at Brown. Ive contacted higher ups. I advise any parent who truly cares for their child or a child w/ disabilities or IEP to not send their child here. They do not have the right structured setting or rms for kids like my son, they are clearly not trained or do they have the knowledge to teach my child or the next. Ms. Poté is but. Unfortunately I cant write anymore but *From my FB an noone was pleased* Not perfect but deff the best mom to my boys

This school is the worst school my kids have ever went to. I am in the process of pulling my kids out of this school.

My daughter and I moved from out of state this past summer, she was entering the second grade. I tried to stay optimistic about her attending Brown elementary, but shortly after her entrance to the school I realized the many shortcomings. Although the teachers and staff seem very nice, I am NOT happy with her experiences at this school and will be taking her out at the end of the year (if not sooner if it's gets any worse...). I don't feel like my daughters being challenged with her school work at all. There's no way to keep track of my child's curriculum or communication between her teacher and I about her progress, the work she brings home is so simple it's pretty comical compared to her previous school or the work I do with her at home. I visited one morning to see how she was doing, the class was going over reading words but pronounced several of them incorrectly and was told it was right... I've taken it upon myself to purchase multiple second grade curriculum books to do with her at home because I refuse to let her fall behind from where she was learning at her previous school. The times I have spoken with her teacher she suggested I sign up for a class dojo app to be in tune with how my daughters doing... I have yet to receive an update or any correspondence from her teacher since I've done so. Her teacher seems to be more concerned with helping/coaching the Cheerleaders than educating/being involved with her own students. There just doesn't seem to be any structure with anything, when there are school closings or "extended" holiday breaks (President's day for example...) the school doesn't notifiy the parents At ALL!!! No note from the last day before break, or call of extension, which is a hassle for working parents. The website has few updates about anything, during the winter months I didn't even bother using it, I had to check other school sites and local news about school closings/delays it was ridiculous... The only times I've been called were when I had my daughter out of school when she was sick and had already informed the nurse but they still had the automated message call me and even sent a letter to my home about her missing 3 days when I had already given them explanation/notes as to why... I've read previous comments about the cleanliness of the school... I will say the outside of the school could use a spruce up/update, the inside looks like a normal school to me, the restrooms I entered were sanitary although I'm sure they're not always that way with kids. The lunch could be much better, I love that all the kids receive free lunch but it should be better variety/healthy foods, my daughter started asking me to make her lunches mid year and once I realized why it just gave me another reason not to be happy with the school. They should really make monthly calendars/year round of the lunch menu for parents who make lunches for their kids... My overall disappointment with this school is how they portray organization/parent involvement, but in reality I haven't seen any of that since my daughter has attended and it's very concerning.

My daughter attended Kindergarten her loved Ms. Edwards and Ms. King. Most of all my daughter love the school. Love Kampus Kids the teachers all so caring but the one complaint I have is the bathrooms they smell and need to be cleaned daily. I should not go in a bathroom and see spider webs all over the stalls with live spiders. Pleas be more sanitary .
