When my daughter first started Continental Colony Elementary School they're were already problems but I didn't make a big deal I just figured it's the beginning of the school year things will get better, unfortunately I was wrong. The school is not welcoming at all the teachers are rude and unprofessional. There are probably about 15 to 20 teachers that I have came across that has been welcoming, positive, and professional. This school is considered a below-average school and I feel like it's because of the teachers. I feel that some of these teachers are incompetent we're now in the second semester and my daughter's teacher doesn't even know the correct spelling of her name, yet alone how to pronounce her last name and her name is a common name. First I figured it was a mistake but when they called her by her last name or sent a note home with her name on it I realized that it was not a mistake and at this point it is ridiculous. While going to the PTA meetings along with other functions the school may have for parents my husband & I came to see that we were not the only parents who felt this way and having these problems. Some parents had said that they have already spoke with the principal and put in complaints. The school does not challenge our kids the way they should our children (African American) are not exempt from a great education. I would not recommend anyone to send their child here if you care anything about academics & professionalism. This is my daughter's Zone School and I will be sending a request to APS to change that.
