This school is whatever you make out of it. Me personally I had a great experience the four years I was their. The teachers were great, well most of them. You have some that should not be at a school of such prestige. They have no desire to teach and help the kids of our future. Others bend backwards to make sure a kid succeeds. I dont know a high school that doesn't have its problems. But if you judge a schools mainly off of the bad seeds it wouldn't be fair. Im a true Cavalier baby. Mom and Pop both graduated from there so I knew what to expect walking into it. Graduated Class of 2010. And most of my classmates I know including me have made a good life for ourselves. Gables actually give you a taste of the real world. All I can say is Go Cavs!! LOL

Gables may be known as a "bad school", but I've personally never come in contact with anyone who would be considered low-class, or consumes illegal substances. My past three years at Gables have been nothing short of a true educational experience. Some of my best teachers, such as Ms. Freijo and Mr. Weiner, are the reasons why I am sure I will continue into a higher level education. Although the college process will be very rigorous, Gables has given me the confidence to assure me that I will get into Miami-Dade with no hassle.

Coral gables senior high is a school with a lot of spirit. The uniform is great and tthe teachers wont pressure you about your uniform plus you have a great variety. This allows you to be more unique then just another student in another school. It is hard to find two people with the same combination of uniform. The classes are great and what makes them great are the teachers. They are very prepared for their subjects so you can ask them anything and they can help you out. They also have IB. Overall it is a great school.

I'm a freshman in the IB magnet, and it's been absolutely wonderful so far, for me at least. There are so many clubs to be a part of; so many pep rallies to attend; so many wonderful students and teachers to meet...I'm very much delighted with my experience so far. School spirit is never lacking in CGHS. P.S. They should say "Have a cavtastic day" instead of "Have a cav day". Come on, guys, get it together.

Teachers are just ok. Most of them are very entitled and do not teach very well. A lot of social segregation between "white" IB population and various other ethnic and socioeconomic groups. Clubs are a joke and sports are of utmost priority for the school rather than academics.

This high school is in Coral Gables, very safe quiet neighborhood. The faculty and staff are available to answer any concerns. The security staff are ever present and always visible. Large school however runs efficiently and orderly.Overall a good school

the administration and teachers, for the most part, seem unhappy and overworked. They don't seem terribly concerned about the education of the students. I tried numerous times to meet with my daughters counselor to no avail. My overall experience has been negative punctuated by a few, very few, positive experiences. My daughter came from a charter middle school. I would strongly suggest to parents to consider charter or private first.

If you're not in IB, it sucks. Genuinely. You'll have to take B.S. Electives every year and your senior year will be full of useless electives.

I graduated in 2014 and only have words of Thanks and appreciation for my IB teachers. They are amazing. To name a few: Mr. Blackmon, Dr. Scanlon, Mr. Bloomfield, Ms. Smith, Mr. Nelson and many many more who made my experience great throughout high school.

they’re supposed to close the gates at 7:30 but the fat idiot in the student parking lot closed it 10 minutes before, not allowing students to go in. get better security guards!

Id recommend staying away from this high school. If you can try to go to another one like Coral Reef. Overall, Coral gables is not a good high school but when most of the other highschools in the area are complete garbage, Gables isn't as bad in comparison. If your trying to go to college, Coral Gables can get you there but it'll be a lot more difficult.

audrey girl if you never met someone who's consumed drugs in the school they're either lying to you or you're lying to yourself but ily anyways this school is survivable and the food is edible so i give it a 3 - update: the eggs taste like dishwash and the cookies are undercooked i dont want to die

Its a high school you know... There are good teachers and bad teachers, there are bully students and excellent students. Its true that IB students have a better time, but anyone can have a good time in the school; there are pep rallies, events, shows, games after school. Great clubs are provided by the Staff and students are nice. The lunch... meh its alright. They have good teams, and the coaches are nice. The problem with the office is that they are only a hand of people, and they have to take care of everything within the school. Im a former student, graduated in 2016.

Horrible school. Most teachers don't care about their students. They're just there to do there job and leave. Getting in contact with the school is a complete nightmare, they never call you back. Many teachers give detentions to students for the dumbest reasons. Every child there smokes and administrators seem to do nothing about it. If you want your child to have a good education, DON'T BRING THEM TO THIS SCHOOL. I regret bring my child to this school.
