I have worked at this school for almost 23 years. I have been a teacher, a dean, and I am now a principal. I just cannot imagine a school with more options in whatever field a student could possibly choose. It makes me want to start all over again. American Heritage School Plantation and the American Heritage School Boca/Delray are equipped with really nice teachers and great education, however with the latest security upgrades (barb wire fences, extra cameras, and clear backpacks) makes this great/wonderful school feel more like a prison instead. I would be willing to bet that there are very few schools in the country that put barb wire around the school. The other main problem the AHS has is the clear backpacks. This is honestly just for American Heritage to take the rest of your student(s)’ privacy rights away. I started as a student at AHS many years ago when the school was great, but now it is not worthy to go to, unless you want your child to have no rights. The main rights that are taken away are your right to privacy and free speech.

How can I describe my daughter first day in this school ... "where am I?" Means I couldn't believed we were in florida ... the teachers was awesome, the staff awesome, the environment excellent every one was and it is so friendly... It has been 3 yr we are in this school and all I can tell you the readers,,,you can not get wrong with your choice ... the school moot is unbelievable ,right and inspiring .,, the knowledge ,integrity and compassion... go patriots...

Looked into the school but found out they sue the parents for illegitmate purposes and try to intimidate settlements. Lookup American Learning Systems in the online public records of Broward county clerk. Under the ownership of Mr. WIlliam Bill Laurie they have sued around 150 families. Bill Laurie is not devoted and does not care about children as all of these lawsuits show. Bill Laurie only cares about $$ money. Be warned. The lawsuits are being filed by attorney John Shahady, Thomas Shahady and Melissa Gunion. These lawyers should be held accountable, because they are carrying out this sad purpose. They are blindsiding families after they are lured in.

Wonderful experience! I am proud to say that my son graduated from AHS in 2016 after spending seven amazing years there. We loved every year, every teacher and every opportunity. It is a challenging school, but my son entered university with amazing scholarship funds, and without any sort of a learning curve. Not only was he academically prepared, but because of the school's diversity and many travel opportunities via robotics (highly recommended robotics program!), he never felt homesick and instead looked forward to starting his new chapter in life. He's now starting his sophomore year in college after a very successful freshmen year. American Heritage is an investment, make no mistake, but for us it was the best investment! Go Patriots!!

This review is based off of a lower school experience. Does American Heritage have some down sides? Of course it does! Is the enrollment process incredible? No. Is the customer service top notch? Not really. Although no one can deny that American Heritage puts out some descent pupils into the real world. Keep in mind this is a private school and more economical than a few others in the area. We pay for safety, education, and piece of mind. Enrolling your little one into lower school you can rest assure, knowing that the teachers will be preparing the children to be about two grade levels ahead than the Florida state standard. It is also very clear that the teachers prepare the children how to take a test teaching them how to take a test vs. overloading them with information that standardize testing requires. Hence why we are the #1 for national merit scholarships! Love your state test? No problem. American Heritage still partakes IOWA but is no way shape or form weighed toward your kids performance. Overall we loved the two years spent here. The children love that their friends stay predominantly the same (because no one leaves) and the staff truly care about the child's overall well being. When coming across a bullying issue it got settled immediately and was watched the entire year. Parents are able to set meetings with all of the child's teacher including extracurricular teachers along with the principle if need be. My favorite part of American Heritage is the portal. At a glimpse I know EVERY SINGLE THING my daughter learned that day. Giving parents the ability to give little reminders when we get the notorious answer, "I don't know" after asking how their day went. I even have access to "my backpack" allowing me to see what is being eaten at lunch along with paying my monthly dues! Another HUGE plus is extra curricular activities conveniently available after school. Making a parents overburden schedule a little easier by not having to shuffle around from one place to another. Karate, ballet, art, tennis, soccer, chess, and pretty much anything you would enroll your kid in with a third party is available! I can go on and on but you get the drift. Its a great school that offers a great experience for parents and children alike! Its worth every single dollar spent.

My words will not be enough to articulate my feelings regarding this wonderful school. First of all I want to say that I'm the kind of mom that will do an intensive research before making a decision, not only online, but asking parents experiences and seeing myself first hand academics, sports, arts, science, etc. One of the key things we learned while researching this school is that The founder, Mr. William Laurie, has dedicated his life and working career to educating young people. This for more than half a century. His dedication along with his son and daughter have assembled not only the highest standards for education but a team of teachers and staff that are nothing short of amazing. American Heritage School superceeded all our expectations. Academically is very challenging yet our son is very happy and is blossoming in this very nurturing atmosphere; he loves his school!!!. American Heritage academically is very objective and they don't recommend your kids to to be held back just for THE SCHOOL to improve their standings like some other prep schools. American Heritage will only suggest what is in the best interest of the child PERIOD. Everybody is treated like family and you have easy access to the principal as oppose to other schools. I read all the reviews from the students and all of them express their gratitude to American Heritage when they are in college. Whoever rate this school at 1 star and say American Heritage is way to fast and has bad food, bla, bla. The facts speak for themselves. American Heritage Ranked # 1 in the state of Florida last year in national merit scholarships and # 7 in the Nation. There campus is huge and has a wide variety of academic programs and extra curricular activities but what I love the most is that if you didn't finish your homework you can't practice or any other participation unless it's done

Cypress bay has as good education as AHS, but it seems like a nice school and some of my friends go to American Heritage, so it still seems like you will enjoy coming here.

As a parent of a graduate, and a soon to be graduate, I cannot recommend this school any higher than 5 stars. My youngest has attended this school since Kindergarten and has received a world-class education. This school takes its academics seriously, and student safety even more seriously. This school is constantly on top of the most current technology and brings it to the student level. Both of my kids were/are prepared for college and the next level of their lives. If you live anywhere in South Florida and have school-aged children, you MUST tour this school for your kids. A ten-star school.
