My grandchild just started Oberle. Im really bad at writting reviews. So I'll get straight to the point. I've had two bad experiences. Both with the schools receptionist . #1 On 5/4 I picked my grandchild up for early dismissal. The front doors were open so I walked in and entered the front office. The receptionist response after me greeting her. Was how did you get in here, You scared me. I told her you let me inside the office and the outside doors were open. The receptionist went into disciplinary action verbally on how I was suppose to use the other door. Me not wanting the confrontation also not wanting to be late for my grandchilds dentist appointment brushed it off and proceeded with the dismissal. But my thoughts were this lady is miserable. #2 I've been having some issues with transportation. Last week the school bus was late. And this weekit was early. 10 to 15 minutes give or take. So I called the school to express my concerns, in hopes of getting pointed in the right direction. And mid in me explaining my concerns, The receptionist cut me off and started giving me the dates to when schools close for the season. At this point im frustrated, Due to remembering my 1st encounter, Now here we go again with a second one. So after my call ended I took my grandchild to school. As we entered the officeI approached the receptionist and asked her for transportaions number. She refused to give it to me and stated she had already done so over the phone. During that moment there were three staff memebers in the office looking at me as if I said or did something wrong. And not one of them offered to step in. As the receptionist went on and on about me being upset because my children missed the bus! Excuse me its only one child which is my grandchild! At that point im full of rage! But I contained myself because my grandchild was present! And all I wanted to do was get her to school without being tardy! The assistant principal was walking by soon as I requested someone in a higher rank. She did pull me into a room and take notes on a piece of scrap paper. Which I thank her for doing so under an emergency situation that could've gotten ugly! I have three children that went through Christina School District. Two of them graduated from Newark High one out of the two graduated early with honors. My 3rd child currently goes to Cobbs Middle School. He is an Honor Roll Student, and he is Also in Honor Science classes! Never AND I mean NEVER have I experienced such unprofessionalism from anyone in this School District!
Im not sure if the receptionist has reached retirement status, But she needs to give her position to someone who enjoys their job title including all ethnicities! And superb LISTENING skills! Versus someone acting out in a belligerent manner! Due to being comfortable ENOUGH to do so in her environment!
