Dissatisfied Ursuline Mother
This is one of the lowest class, poor quality, educational institutions I have known. My daughter graduated recently from this school. We kept her there the four years to stay the course to not create a drastic change in the midst of high school. In hindsight, we should have made a different choice for her education. They had a new principal each year. Each new principal violates the civil and parental rights of some parents, should the other parent come from a wealthy, well known family. On several occasions, each principal violated my parental right by not allowing me to speak to my daughter when I arrived at the school, and treated me in extremely harassing manners. Which is a violation of my civil rights because I shared joint custody and my daughter lived with me half time. Which made this situation even more bizarre and distressing. The receptionist, Erica, in the Upper School office, is the one who starts the drastic behavior upon arriving into the office. She is extremely rude to parents and the students, as I witnessed her interactions with other parents and students while in the building. Not the type of greeting you want to be welcomed with upon arriving at a school that is paid for by the parents. We did not accept financial aid. I was paying to be treated very poorly. The staff treated me disrespectfully in front of my daughter. They would also question her about what I was there for, after she would arrive back to school if I picked her up midday. Common sense and the law would point clearly to the fact that I am her mother. THIS IS NOT THE SCHOOL YOU WANT TO SEND YOUR DAUGHTER TO IF YOU WISH FOR HER TO RECEIVE A GOOD HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE AND/OR TO BE TREATED WITH ANY LEVEL OF DECENCY. They seem nice pre-enrollment. Once you are in and they are being paid, that treatment turns into a disturbing sequence of parental violations and a pattern of questionable behavior among students. To a point of requiring the school to amend their attire requirements for the dances. Ursuline Academy in Wilmington, DE puts shame to the organization.
