This school is good for some aspects such as clubs and activities, however the teachers that are hired here simply do not care about their students succeeding. A lot of the teachers here, excluding some, will not allow their students to retake tests if they have done bad on them, therefore not giving them a chance to get their grade up and succeed in that class. What lesson does not allowing kids to retake tests teach them? "Well you should have studied more! Better luck next time!" No teacher takes into consideration the amount of stress the student might be under at that point in their lives. But do they care? Absolutely not. They just want to get through everyday and collect their paychecks. Their students happiness is on the bottom of their to do list. Tell me, how can students have a healthy learning environment if teachers are acting this immature and powerhungry. Obviously I'm talking about only a couple specific teachers. Some of the teachers I have possess good intentions and mean well. But others just make me want to skip school all together. Some teachers even give TESTS on things they have barely gone over in class, and then when you do bad on them, they exclaim that they've been talking about it for weeks, when in fact, they were not. Look, you're a teacher. You are supposed to teach us. You are the teacher, Not the internet, because that's what a lot of students resort to because of lack of proper teaching. Kids that want a good education and want their parents to be proud of them cannot receive that 100% because of the incompetence I have experienced here. I've had teachers literally lose my papers and then blame it on me, and I've had teachers take my belongings for no apparent reason. This isn't school. School is supposed to be fun and you're supposed to have fun learning about life and being prepared for the future. None of what I've learned here I feel is preparing me for my future. In fact, I feel school is destroying my future. My relationship with my family pretty much deteriorates whenever my grades start to slip, even though I know it's only 30% my fault, and 70% the last, incompetent teachers fault. That's the end of my rant. Again, this is just my opinion, and no teachers were targeted directly. I just wanted to state what I feel about school as a whole, not necessarily specifically bethel high. Thank you.
