I’m sorry for those who have had a bad experience at MSU Denver. My days as a student at MSU Denver was fantastic. I was a full-time accounting student and a full-time server, so I hardly had time to join any social activities that MSU Denver offered, since my main focus was to graduate without any issues. I researched and personally planned out my classes. I rarely met with my academic advisor because the graduation requirements were detailed and straightforward. I did took advantage of the resources that the College of Business offered, like the Resume Café and Career Events. I graduated back in Dec. 2017 and landed a career in my field. ☺️

As a Latino student I was discriminated in class by a professor and I took action and they still did nothing about it. Don’t go here you’ll waste time and money.

Metro is a horrible place to go to college. Only 20% of students graduate, including myself. During earning my Bachelor's degree, I was never taught essential skills like utilizing Excel for Pivot Tables or VLookups. Meanwhile, people that aren't taking business degrees are taught that in their 2nd semester! There are few networking events, most of them aren't posted online, student clubs often aren't run by faculty. Students are left to tracking down heads of clubs like the Accounting firms. Big 4 Accounting firms don't want students from here. Job fairs don't have job opportunities for accountants and local firms are limited. Those businesses often send recruiters that don't even know what accountants do and often aren't willing or don't know how to help connect students contact accountants in the businesses they represent. Textbooks often aren't well written and teachers are often not very good at teaching. Student government people told me that they didn't know where events are located and I later figure out that they think lying to people is funny. Here is a news flash for everyone uncivilized: No one is laughing! Job boards are limited, out of state students aren't interested in coming here in general. Operators often send me to the wrong people. Getting resume help is extra money. Attending here has been primarily a waste of my adult life. Just in case anyone can't figure this out, this is not how things are supposed to be!

This school has given me nothing but problems at the beginning of my sophomore year. I did not receive the same (or any) scholarship for my sophomore year because they "ran out of funds." The financial aid for this school is pretty much nonexistent.

RUN!!!!!!! This place is full of crap! If you want an education, go somewhere where they don't nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING! If they could charge for breathing they would! The staff is terrible and ran by a bunch of students who only care about themselves. There are better higher education facilities that actually care about their students without robbing your wallet!

Going to MSUD is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was able to design my own unique degree through the Individualized Degree Program, which was wonderful. I got very involved with many of the fabulous student organizations on campus and made many friends. The campus is very unique due to it's status as tri-institutional. I really enjoyed the opportunity to engage with the communities of the two other schools on campus. Also, the GLBT Student Service Office rocks! It's a great place to hang out, make friends, attend educational events, or just work on homework. Thank you MSUD!

Excellent University, the institution has great professors that are willing to help. I highly recommend Metro to any high school graduate.

Meg Brandes

Honestly, I love this school. I have been able to work and go to school at a reasonable tuition rate. Yes, it is not like other big state schools you are not going to get a whole lot of social experiences but you will meet some inspiring people with many different backgrounds. I would go back to this school in a heartbeat.

Metro seems to be a decent school. However, I really hate the admission process. I'm an international student. I have a bachelor degree from my home country. I'm actually attending a community college in Colorado to collect the prereq to apply for nursing program at metro. I have to get my transcript evaluated. My friend who applied for other university can send her transcript to her university directly. She didn't have to pay $250 for transcript evaluation because her school has someone why can check if the university I graduated is accredited. Metro suppose to have the list of accredited institution from another country, but they don't. I have to pay $250 for the evaluation, and I don't even know if I'm going to be accepted to the nursing program. I don't feel it is right. It would be ok for me to do this if I know that I'm accepted, or I could pay $250 for nothing.

Wonderful programs, wonderful teachers...but if a student can NEVER get answers on what is needed to graduate? It's useless. One son will graduate. I refuse to send my 2nd son to this inept institute. Two weeks before graduation, after being assured again and again by both major departments (history and anthropology) he is told he won't graduate because he's missing a class...after everything was signed off on? He has to drop his 2nd major if he wants to graduate this term now. This is after literally DOZENS of meetings. This "institute of higher learning" needs to get its act together. I can now see why they have a low graduation rate. They disappoint their students again and again. Is it a money grab? Trying to get kids to buy more classes and terms? This is after invitations, parties, family coming into town has been scheduled and purchased. I HATE METRO. They cannot run a duel major CAPP report. So they keep guessing. Really? The CAPP report students print at home allocate classes differently than those processed at the uni? Because of a glitch? At $3000/semester, don't you think they could update their software? They can't even connect their email to their site anymore! And now that we know he has to take yet another class? Not one professor can tell him which classes will qualify as "global diversity!" How can we sign up for a class when even they don't know which ones to take? It's freakin' crazy, man! It's an attribute that isn't listed in the class definitions!!!!

I learned so much from this place. Faculty and students alike are welcoming, passionate about learning, and heavily motivated. My academic advisors took a genuine interest in my goals while professors encouraged me to learn more. I am proud to have gone to MSU.

Anthony Dupont

The school is all about money and bullshit fees with bullshit lies. I have been trying to register for 3 months now and every time my account is cleared up and "ready to go" I get another bullshit error. I go take care of it, I got in person to get the paper work and drive back an hour or more depending on traffic to get my parents to sign because I'm under 23, go back over there and give them this paper for them to say it's "all good from here". After a couple of weeks i see that the paper got rejected for some unknown reason and didn't even tell me to say it was rejected. Not to mention that every phone call I've had with them are extremely useless and seems like they don't' care about helping me what so ever

Charges you if you begin to fill out an application - even if you don't end up going there.

This over priced community college is not worth the time or money. They charged me three grand for taking one class...So yes there are A LOT of better options in and out of state. Student success building is run by students who don’t know what they’re doing and lazy unmotivated faculty. I've waited months for paperwork to get processed and things to get done. While I've sat in the office waiting I see staff chatting and taking breaks all the time. It's no wonder no work gets done in regards to financial aid or anything else for that matter. I highly suggest not wasting any time or money at this awful place.

Elizabeth C.

I just graduated from Metro. The class sizes are small and intimate. I went to School at CU Boulder and felt immense anxiety walking into classrooms with 300 students or more. My professors knew my name. And would often say hi in the hall. They were very responsive to my emails and were incredibly helpful. I learned a lot. Not to mention I received scholarships and they are starting to add more Masters programs.

I like the school am almost done. But when I lost my job and couldn't paid my outstanding tuition they showed me the door.

This school gets my vote as the worst in the country, They will allow any low life to teach and feed the students total BS.

Margaret McCullough

I graduated from Metro with a BFA and have been very satisfied with the skills and education I received, no institution is perfect but for someone seeking a diverse student body, professionally experienced staff and an overall caring, affordable approach to your degree its simply as good as it gets.

Melovy M. Melvin

Best diverse university in the Mile High City.

Honestly, if you had said had something to that extent for it to have been pretty offensive like sexist, racist, LGBTQ+ -hating comments, for someone to oppose you so bad that you felt brainwashed. think next time, or word it differently. there is nothing wrong with opposing opinions, but just saying, my friend hated it only because he just doesn't like school, he never complained about the academics or demeanor of the classrooms, we're all there to learn and grow which requires opposition..

very nice school! it's big and wonderful. the teachers are helpful, the students are friendly, and the food is nice :)

What a joke of a school! Their financial department is completely clueless and give incorrect information constantly! Their mistake cost me a lot of money and instead of attempting to contact me directly to get paid they sold it off to a law firm not a month after the semester ended. Definitely will not recommend this establishment to anyone!

I’m a Metro State Alum. Loved going to school there. Walked through the campus yesterday. Shiny buildings, but we’re letting weeds grow and not taking care of the grass?? First impressions??

After actively making payments on a balance I owed Metro they sent me to collections. They sent no bill into me regarding the fact that my student loans were not going to cover my tuition until it was too late to withdrawal with a refund, then they refused to work with me. They called me and offered me a payment plan that was completely not affordable and told me I would be sent to collections if I did not meet the payments on the payment plan. So I paid the balance down from $700 to $250 in 3 months on my own and they sent me to collections anyways with no notice. Metro does not work with their student financially and continues to raise their tuition every single semester. This is a STATE school and is supposed to be affordable and targeted towards working class people and instead they treat their students like we are a burden and refuse to work with us at all. I would not recommend this school to anyone in the state of Colorado, ever.

Used to be a great school when I went for my first undergraduate degree but under the leadership of Dr. Jordan and his team the entire culture has changed for the worst. I no longer feel valued as a student now that I have returned for further education. I was so exited to meet Dr. Jordan and then when it happened, I might as well been a doormat. The professors are fantastic but that's about it.

Rosemarie Chostler

Metro is my alma mater! It's a wonderful school which offers numerous degreed programs. MSU classes are taught by highly educated teachers (many of whom are professors). The tuition is less than that of most other colleges and universities but they don't undespend when it comes to hiring staff. This is and always was a wonderful college which offers an excellent education!!

soren

Affordable many classes and majors are offered here and I'd there's a class you want to take that isn't offered here you can take it at one of the other colleges on campus for the metro price. If they don't have a major you like you can apply for the idp program and make your own major. Only downside is parking is a pain and it's not. a very social school

Tomas Fone

WHY is it that the admission process subjective ? The website tell you something and when you go in person to provide the information required, the admins tell you something else, they intentionally delay your admission process by requesting papers that you won't be able to get in time. IAnd then makes you loose a semester or more. I didn't hate the school but I hate the way the administation runs things, and you have no where to go, hopeless !

kaylie hill

I started an application to MSU when I was 16 years old in 2010 and I never finished the app. I am now 20 years old, a single mom, and am reapplying to MSU. Admissions is making me pay the unfinished app fee from 4 years ago and the current one. I spoke with a woman today in admissions to see if I could get the old one waived. She was incredibly rude and gave an unnecessary attitude when I was trying to explain to her my current situation. I am rethinking attending this school if this is what I get for $3000 a semester.

Troy Wrightstone

I loved going to school here. It was affordable and the the teachers were fantastic. I graduated in 2010 and would recommended it to anyone.

Chris Posniewski

Worst School in Colorado. Overpriced Glorified Community College. No good extra curricular activities. No dorms. Lots of inexperienced first year teachers rotate through here. This was the only school where I ever had teachers that clearly wanted to avoid any extra work rather than help me personally succeed. They charge students for every little thing right down to parking. Do not go here, this is not a real university, and the actual real universities in Colorado will not accept transfer credits from this disgrace of an institution.

Adrienna Coffield

This is a horrible school! I don't care how cheap their tuition, is it's not worth the horrible time they put you through to try to get into this school. I am a good stident with a 3.2 GPA and I think a community college has their stuff together better than Metro. Their registration technology is terrible and their rules are completely unfair and racist. I've never been to such a horrible institution going to be switching schools as soon as possible! If you are trying to do online stay far away they dont provide an all online option. Stay far away from this place!

I took classes here for three semesters and I have to admit, this is a great college, a great location for a state college and the people in and around Metro State are friendly and down to earth. The campus, located in the heart of Downtown Denver, is just amazing. If and when I finish my degree my choice again will be me going back to Metro State University. Go Roadrunners!

I don't know what Mark talks about, or what people he was around. As an art student I am having a good experience, been here nearly 2 years. Done a few surveys on Student needs etc. Other students are great, good mix of ages and cultures. Haters won't be tolerated tho. If you don't like LBGT or any minorities, you better stay out.

Underinformed about the policies regarding Late Start Classes. Whole process has been a headache. Price is great but not worth the hassle. Transferring to different Uni next semester. Would not recommend.

Excellent school. I graduated from the Criminal Justice in '06 and had a tremendous experience at Metro. Knowledgeable professors, flexible class options including variety of times as well as in class/on line. Campus atmosphere was okay before, but is improving since I have moved on. Overall, you won't get a better value in the State.

Alexander Pyszniak

If you are looking into moving to Colorado like most of the US right now, do NOT come to this university. There are much better colleges in this state that are a better bang for you buck. This college is growing too fast for its own good and the students are the ones who must take the blow. I am at senior level now and have been lied to by more than one advisor in regards to which classes I need to be taking in order to graduate. I have spoken with the chair of the accounting department to have my situation corrected and the best excuse that he can come up with is that he can't bend the rules for any student. Mind you that all I have done was listen to the accounting advising department to have them schedule my classes. YOU CANNOT TRUST ANY ADVISOR IN THIS INSTITUTION! So instead of being able to graduate in the spring, I will have to push out my graduation a year. It's like I'm being punished for listening to the advising department when its their job to help students stay on track to graduate. I usually don't write reviews but I had to speak out on behalf of how I was treated. If you plan on going here, you must ask at least three people before you make any decision. They can't even hold their staff accountable for their actions and the student must pay the price for their mistakes. Very sad situation but I'm not the only that this has happened to. Thanks for reading.

They do not care about students! In 2012, I was just 1 of 160 students over-awarded student loan funds. The Bursar's office then sent a letter to me wanting ALL or HALF of the $5000+ money that I had accepted. Of course, I didn't HAVE that money, and I was in the midst of the employment crisis. I called them crying asking how this could've happened. They admitted and even documented in my account that this happened. I had even planned to stop taking student loan funds, but too late... So, I was placed into collections with the State of Colorado and placed on a payment plan with what I could reasonably afford at the time while I worked my job for $13/hr. At first, the State accused me of being unresponsive to their requests. Nope, wrong. I was indeed responsive and even knew my representative's name. So I entered into a payment plan, which I've paid on since then, have NEVER been late. If I'm ever late, the agreement is that everything comes due at that time. Fast forward to 2018, where I'm looking at returning to school to finish all of the schooling off (have to look for scholarships/grants). Metro refuses to release my official transcripts because they say I have an account balance. I've spoken directly to a supervisor of the Bursar's office and they read the contents of my account where it documented the mistaken over-award. I was still told that it doesn't matter that I'm current with the state, my account with Metro is technically in default, so until I pay the remaining $3300, they won't release my official transcripts. This is such an injustice and it's not my fault. I am paying because I accepted the funds, but now my transcripts are being held hostage. I have no idea what to do. I don't have $3300 laying around or I'd have paid it! So frustrated!

Earned my BA in English here. Quality, first-rate education at an affordable price. Next to CU and DU, MSU Denver is one of the top colleges in the state. Perhaps even moreso than the others because this school exemplifies what it means to be composed of a truly culturally diverse student body. The education I received was life-changing, and the beautiful and always expanding urban downtown campus worked out perfectly for me. Many of the professors here are also professors at CU as well, a large number of my professors possessed PHD's, and nearly all of them offered extra help during their office hours and through email outside of class. If you want a class a education like you would get at CU without paying the CU price (and without the stereotypical on-campus life), MSU Denver can't be beat.

Mark Murex

If you like being brainwashed, go to this school. You aren't allowed to think for yourself here, or have a differing opinion. Also, if you are male- avoid this place, because your are hated. You will not have a very well-rounded experience here at all.

Clinton Woods

Amazing school, changed my life and now I am in a good graduate program because of this school.

Sizzle slay

The support this school offers is a nightmare. I finished the Fasfa form months before attending and kept receiving a new form that needed to be completed including Entrance forms, TIV forms, DVER forms, and many more. The way this has been handled was ridiculous. I call up every time to get assistance and am told your all good "this is end of the tunnel" no more forms. The very next week there is new form holding back financial aid or something and on top of that it takes a week or two for each of them to submit. It gets to the point all of the delays this school and its support cause leads to me being billed late fees or no benefits at all. It gets even better some of the forms I have turned in just suddenly disappeared. I have printed up confirmations and after being told "you didn't submit this or that" I present conformations. I am legit hung up on and then told when I do get back on the line later... That oh because it was past due (mind you i turned this in months ago) That i can perhaps get it accepted with a late charge and half the benefits. That is some mad Bs that this is their screw up and it costs me?? Nah 1 star.

I am a senior at MSU and previous to my junior year, I had already been to three other colleges. MSU was the first school I visited that I knew it was somewhere I would want to stick with. Even just visiting the campus was so much easier than any other school I've toured, and the various offices like admissions, advising, financial aid, etc. were so easy to find and easy to talk to someone relatively quickly. The classes fill up fast, but there are always plenty to choose from no matter the semester. My teachers have been wonderful both on campus and online, and have consistently offered to stay in touch after the semester was over. The smaller class sizes really allow the teacher to get to know who you are which is something I really miss about the smaller schools I went to. The campus is large but it has been relatively easy to find buildings and classrooms, though I would recommend going a day or two before the semester begins to make sure you're in the right place. This is my fourth semester at MSU, I've been all around campus, and I didn't even know the building that one of my classes is in existed until this semester. Parking is outrageous, so if you don't plan on getting to class early, I recommend parking at a light rail station and taking the light rail in. There's very little parking available under $6. I have had some minor issues come up with financial aid and getting classes to apply to the correct spot for my degree, but that's due to the amount of courses I had to transfer. Every time something has come up I have been able to call in to the office and speak with someone to quickly get it resolved. The people I have spoken with have always been friendly and helpful, and even pulled some strings to help me out financially this semester. I sincerely appreciate this school and feel as if this education is worth way more than what I am paying for. School is all about what you put into it, and this school appears to be paying back tenfold.

I love it :)

Their office staff makes everything nearly impossible. From registering classes to their student service, 0/10. Mind you, I’ve attended 2 other colleges and had intentions of graduating through this school. That is looking very unlikely at this point due to their lack of commitment to their students.

Julia Bilderback

This school treats ex-students and alumni like trash. I graduated from CSU in 2009 and I still have access to my student portal and unofficial transcripts. I completed my degree at MSU in 2016 and their policy is to shut down students' accounts after a year and do not offer unofficial transcripts to students. Because of this even if students just need an unofficial transcript they can force them to pay for unofficial transcripts. They milk students for every penny they can and have policies that hurt students. Go to a different school if you are looking.

Mark M. I think you are not telling the truth. I am a vet at MSU, having a great experience there.

Department-specific administration seems to be adequate, however this institution is run by students with little or no experience and even less supervision and guidance. Higher education is a business transaction, and the way MSU Denver conducts its' business is appalling.

Metro is wonderful! Staff that actually cares and great people on campus

Incredible university with great staff. The professors are very suppotive and always available. I like that security is on alert and informs students of foul play when incidents occur near the campus, as well as offer tips for safety. The school offers a lot of activities and students support. Thanks.

I loved my writing courses. My prof was sweet, kinda hot, and really paid attention to me.

My experience has been frustrating to say the least. The Success Building is run by incompetent students half the time. You wait at admissions for them to finish there drama filled conversation to be helped and when they do make time for you they never seem to know what your talking about when it comes to admissions or there is a form to be filled out and told they will pass it on. The Financial Aid department is on a four to six week back log year round and there is always another form or procedure they forgot to tell you the last time you were there or a hold. I spent a little over three months trying to get admitted to be told there is a another hold for this or for that and you can't move on in the process with holds. I spent hours, days and weeks commuting trying to get them paperwork and submitting the same form over and over again, meeting with heads of departments and finally an orientation which you can not do unless you have all holds removed. I have had to submit the same form three times over and still have a hold. FYI, if your not transferring more then 30 credits you will need your high school transcripts! They failed to tell me this after two and a half months into the process and yes I asked and yes there was a hold. I live twenty miles away from the school and had obtained living arrangements to be closer to school just to finally be told classes where full and that I should try for next semester. F that I'm never going to come back to this place, I will tell people adult students and vetrens like myself to stay away and hope they get there stuff together so someone else dosent get the same run around.

What a joke. I was a CU Denver student looking to graduate in the summer so I could attend graduate school. I needed one more class to graduate, Spanish II and CU had just canceled it for the summer so I was left with no choice but to go to Metro. I went to the Metro admissions office and told them what was going on, after a little while they had told me that I had taken a class the previous December and had an outstanding balance of $600. I told them that was literally impossible considering this was my first time applying to Metro. They told me in order for me to register for Spanish II I would have to clear the balance on my account, there was no way around it but that once it was paid and I was registered, I could appeal to this board of people and get my money back. Reluctantly, I paid the fee and registered for my Spanish class; I immediately wrote my appeal for the $600 I paid for and waited for the board to decide. A few weeks later I got a letter saying the board had rejected my appeal and they would not be refunding my money. Furiously, I went into admissions office and wanted someone to talk to, the person who I talked to called me a liar and told me that if I hadn't taken the class then I shouldn't have paid the $600 and then they told me to leave. Interestingly, the professor I had for Spanish even dogged on Metro saying that they were 100% about money and not the students. I guess I experienced that first hand. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I graduated from this place many years ago, a victim of unwanted sexual harassment from an academic leader. I was told my concerns then and now were without merit. As most of the educated folk are aware, harassers in power often get away with it. UNWANTED TOUCHING IS WRONG. IT IS WITH MERIT, but only if you are willing to step up and make things right. Right, V?! The university (then college) does not fairly address concerns of this nature, in my opinion. I encourage anyone who is being touched or treated inappropriately to speak UP and speak LOUD. Don't let them take away your voice. I did-and I've regretted it for 30 years.

HORRIBLE!Dr. Charles Angeletti, a professor of American Civilization at one of the largest schools in the state, told Campus Reform he has been distributing the pledge for 20 years. America is described in the pledge as “two nations, under Jesus, rich against poor, with curtailed liberty and justice for all except blacks, homosexuals, women who want abortions, Communists, welfare queens, treehuggers, feminazis, illegal immigrants, children of illegal immigrants, and you if you don’t watch your step.” Image Credit: The Metropolitan via Campus Reform Image Credit: The Metropolitan via Campus Reform Steven Farr, a freshman at MSU, said Angeletti distributed the pledge to his entire class and is intolerant of other opinions. “This was an attempt to propagandize an entire classroom of young adults,” Farr told Campus Reform. Pete Hegseth, a Fox News contributor and CEO of Concerned Veterans for America, noted that many veterans attend the school. “We have seen this time and time again. Lessons like this stack the deck against veterans and basically tell them, ‘You fought for nothing,’” Hegseth told Fox News. “‘You fought for a lie.’”

Metro State gave me an education second to none - keep in mind though I didn't shy away from difficult classes or professors. My BA in psychology provided me with a grasp of both statistics and research methods, exceeding any undergraduate school I've come across. My wife, who attended a prestigious pre-med program, is always impressed that I'm able to keep up around a table of doctors - and I can assure you, I was nowhere near the top of my class. Similarly, my experience in the political science department was no different. There I was consistently challenged by the faculty, to critically analyze political theory and move beyond traditional dogma. This left me with a coherent framework of reasoning skills that I use daily and is essential to the practice of law. There are downsides to Metro though: First, it's a huge campus and with a large student population, where unfocused students can get easily lost in the shuffle. Second, the financial aid office is awful - it's understaffed and if you run into trouble it can easily spiral out of control. And third, while folks in Colorado respect Metro State, no one else in the country has any idea about it. People WILL assume you attended a community college if head out east and they will treat you like dirt because of it. Nevertheless, Metro gave me an education and a set of experiences I wouldn't trade for anything. It allowed this poor kid from the mountains to break a cycle of poverty that went back generations in his family, even with high school grades that were less than stellar. The patience and effort shown to me by my teachers there is humbling to think on now. Sure there were - really - crappy ones, but overall it was some of the best years of my life. Thank you MSCD - yes I know the name changed.

I got a better online education while I was in Iraq! You're just a number there!!

60% of professors are good, the other 40% are nothing compared to my high school teachers (Cherry Creek HS). That’s sad. 75% of staff need to go to the 60% of professors that are incredible and get some common sense and etiquette. Literally act like little prepubescent teens. I had a staff member I have never even met In my life email me about some weird opinion she had of me. You’re a grown woman and you act like this? Were you raised in a barn? Staff act like this at a university and they wonder why student engagement is down? Studies have shown a direct correlation. Even in one of my classes I had a professor share with us a study about the same issue. Use your own databases to figure that one out. I wonder how many staff members it would take to figure this one out... RIP MSU Denver. The dream of creating an actual university is there, but you guys are far from it 7 years later. Still act like a low level state college. Way to represent Denver like this. I was born here and am embarrassed for you.

This school scene has and will be remembered as very good.

I can already tell that the advising department is a complete joke and I haven't even started school here yet. My advisor seems like she does not want to help me at all. I'm pretty much left to figure everything out on my own. Don't call them "advisors" if they aren't doing that: advising.

After viewing professor Charles Angeletti's "own version" of the Pledge of Allegiance I am just OUTRAGED that he is using his position educating students with this anti-American garbage by putting Christians as haters of all mankind. I guess it's ok with Mr Angeletti that ISIS is raping and be-heading "Christian children in the Middle East....but of course your students will never be educated on the hatred for Americans and Christians there....until we have another attack on our country. If you're so unhappy living in America, that you need to teach hatred, you might want to get on the next plane to the Middle East....I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms!! And by the way Mr Angeletti.....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! If you're not FIRED for what you are doing....SHAME on the Metropolitan State University of Denver!!

They charge fees for everything......literally everything!! They charge cheap tuition rates but robe each student with bs fees! I never been to a university like this one. I was there for one year and was sick of the school after like four months. All the classrooms are old and have had no remodeling done. The school still uses 1980's desks and still use chalkboards.....they don't even use all the money they steal from students remodel the classrooms, I mean at least get whiteboards. The classrooms smell old and dirty. This is by far the worst school. It use to be a great school but it has gone downhill very fast.

Excellent institution, my entire family has gone to MSUDenver because we know that to get a good degree you do not need to spend a lot of money. I Would recommend this school to anyone that is trying to succeed in life. One of the best universities in the entire rocky mountain region.

Melina Khat

Quality education that's affordable. Quality teachers as well. This school has high standards. The professors also are into what they're teaching which makes learning easy and fun.

I had some great professors and enjoyed the campus as there is a lot of diversity. I had many visits to registration office every year to straighten out student loan issues though as they always dragged their feet processes my private student loans to cover tuition. Most semesters the process took a few months which usually made me late to register for next semesters classes. Not only did this usually give me a bad schedule, but I had to pay a large service fee every month until they processes my student loans. They nickle and dime you to death and my degree requirements changed every year forcing me to take 3 more semesters to graduate. This was lucrative for MSU though as they got 3 more semesters of inflated tuition, service fees, mishandled student loans, and horrible experiences with financial aid dept.

Worse decision I ever made was to goto school and get a useless bachelors. Dont bother unless you are getting a masters in science, medical or computer programming. Absolute waste of time and money. The people who teach here are out of touch with the real world. Pretty much been unemployed since I graduated in 2013.

I don't think the people that work here even have degrees... They are barely short of incompetent when it comes to helping you register for classes.

Jeremy Smith

This school is expensive, almost no online classes, no electives count towards a computer science degree, and classes fill instantly because of the lack of availability. You will spend a lot of time and money for a degree from a mediocre school. Take your money somewhere else.

I started my college search like millions of students around the country- I had aspirations and goals just like every high school student that is serious about a higher education. I applied and got accepted to the University of Oregon, Ohio State, the University of Colorado- Boulder, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and last but not least, Metro State University. Like many others in the same predicament, I was conflicted on where to attend. I, however, was fortunate enough to know at a very young age what I wanted to do with my life, and that was to become a pilot. Although I am confident that any of these schools would have been a great start to my professional career, I chose MSU Denver. It has now been three years since I have started my journey with MSU and I am overjoyed with my decision. Metro State has one of the best aviation programs in the country. The professors in the department of Aerospace Science all have years and years of experience in all aspects of the aerospace industry. Some were military aviators; others went on to become successful airline, corporate, law enforcement, EMS, and private aviators. Some were air traffic controllers, some made a career as aeronautical and astronautical engineers while others worked in the airport management and legal aspects of aviation. I cannot speak so much for the other departments, but from what I’ve seen and gathered from fellow students, it is like this in every concentration. Many of the professors at MSU have industry experience and have applicable knowledge to back up their teachings. The school itself is pretty amazing too and it is getting better every year. Although the large urban campus is not for everyone, I felt like I was right at home. With over 25,000 students, you can rest assure knowing that MSU has all the clubs, organizations, and extracurricular activities one can desire. The beautiful campus is situated in the heart of downtown Denver and is within walking distance to many great restaurants, bars, and shopping centers. Because of its positive impact on the surrounding communities, MSU is looked for to fill a wide variety of positions that help move Colorado forward. Over all, my experience at Metro has been amazing. I have met wonderful friends, made some unforgettable memories and been able to participate in so many incredible opportunities that I wouldn’t have been able to do anywhere else. 5 stars to MSU Denver!

MSU Denver needs to have a poster saying. "White males need not apply"

This school has given me the biggest financial headache I have ever had at First it was a question of what paper work I had I had that taken care of then they say I still owe them money so i call and ask I need to activate my rewards I did that down to the last cent exactly and called to make sure they know that they got there money. However I just get a call from there Financial aid department and it's a voicemail telling me to pay by the 10 when the 10th is a week away so I try to call them back apprently there phone system never works so I can't even get them on the phone to ask why. Good luck getting your ducks in a row because I'm still messing with these people 4 months later honestly it feels like there burser office intentionally won't answer your calls or call you back because there trying to scam you by adding the 1.3 or 1.4 percent on top of your tuition for there incompitance

Nick Donato

Quality school... ive nearly graduated with a cis and marketing degree.. Most teachers have been great making sure we learn while keeping the content interesting. But like all schools a few have no interest in teaching and simply arn't helpful. The campus, classrooms, and classes are good. And most importantly of all is that the prices are good. Downside is some classes are only done online.... if I wanted online id go to an online college

Jodee Whitehead

I was unable to register for classes because of false information that I have received five times.

I'm a metro alumni. And yes it seems like the administration dose not want their students to graduate at all. They constantly change everything, rules and requirements. Its no wonder that bellow 20 percent of students graduate here. MSU Denver is like my drunk dad. Its neglectful and alwful Dose not have its priorities straight, but its my school/ dad, so i got to love it. Its the college i have a degree from. Its will be my school right or wrong. I think if i was the president of university. I would be more concerned about graduation rates rather the administration buildings and sports teams. Its embrassing. The faculty is one of the best in the country. Msu denver is rough around the edges. I like for that. Its the dive bar of colleges. No matter how hard they try to make it look nice. There will always be homeless junkies around the campus and its good because students need to learn about the real world

The two girls currently at the academic advising station are pitiful at best, have bad altitudes, and are of absolutely no help.

Best university value in the state. Was given an education on par with any university in this great state.

Claire Addley

One of the best most helpful universities I have attended. Would recommend anyone to go to MSU!

Justin Jun

Best school ever. Don't listen to the out of state idiots as they have no idea what they're talking about. I was out of state until I ASKED someone to change it. They did without question. Those other two obviously don't know enough english to figure that out.

Great school, I love it here. It is not full of students that are on mom and dads dime, but hard working kids who are paying for it themselves. Teachers teach at all 3 schools on the Campus so you are pretty much getting the same education as the students at CU Denver, just a different name. The only thing that I would change is some of the stuff on the Campus. There are not very social people down here and sometime you get bums on the campus, but you don't spend to much time on the campus because your surrounded by Downtown Denver. Fun, not to expensive, and good education.

Jonathan Geurts

This building has extraordinarily modern meeting facilities, and the stairways are encased in glass for a delightfully refreshing feel.

Jeremy Myers

Great school and faculty.

Justin. Calling someone an idiot does the opposite of lending credibility to your argument. When I registered this semester, after taking a year and a half off. They gave me two 900#s adding a new one by mistake, started sending emails to my box calling me John, my name is Kevin, and made my tuition out-of-state, even though I am a Colorado native. I had to file an out-of-state late payment form to the registrar because they said that would be the only way I wouldn't have to pay late fee's, then after the drop date financial aid contacted me to let me know that my financial aid didn't go through because of a policy change effective Fall 2013, that was due to my academic standing the last semester I attended. So, now I am financially responsible for this semester. I am not discouraging the school, just saying. Advocacy is very important to accomplishing anything through the bureaucracy at Metro.

Bret Alexander

Just this last April, I applied for and was granted admission for the fall semester to pursue a certificate in language proficiency. I was going to register for classes this month when the story broke that MSC would be granting illegal aliens a large multi-thousand dollar discount on their annual tuition. Immediately, I withdrew my acceptance into MSC, because I don't believe the students and tax-payers should pay extra to support a huge tuition discount to unwelcome intruders.

katie Wolf

Great school with great teachers. Small class sizez and first name basis with professors. If students have questions outside of class it has ben my experience that they will Respond to emails the same day, if not the same hour. The internet on campus can be a bear.... and i was in a programming class where 1/3 of the computers didnt work... it was like learning to swim with no pool. Im disappointed to come to learn that the school has no true inside resources for students struggling with homelessness. I don't understand this and i feel it is a shortcoming to subject young adults with good grades to the homeless shelters. Overall a great school, with areas that can be improved.
