The Dysart Unified School District likes to take "behavior problem" children from other schools in the district and put in this "program" they have. My son has been in it for over a year and its AWFUL!!! Firstly, they have my child in a room with all different age and grade level children. My son is supposed to be in 1st grade but he can't even read....because my sons academic education takes a backseat to their behavior program. They claim he is in a IEP program but I don't receive consistent updates. My sons behavior has gotten worse because he has now been exposed to children who have worse behavioral issues than he has. So he is more aggressive and now aggressive to adults which he wasn't before. The Principal and staff try to down play it all the time claiming this "program works" and it will take time. Its been over a year and my almost 7 year old is illiterate. I am disgusted by this school and their behavior program. All they are really doing is cutting these kids off from other kids, limiting their education and letting them slip through the cracks. Dysart needs to shut this program down and send these kids back to normal classrooms ASAP!! I will continue to voice myself along with my husband on the negligence of this district and school program. Plus I want to add look at the other reviews on this school. They are vague and look fake. I wouldn't be surprised if they had fake accounts trying to bring up this schools ratings which believe me the quality of their curriculum is much lower than West Point Elementary. Just close down this campus or get a better Principal that can actually do her job.
