I still can’t believe how people express their opinions and how they can throw sand in other people eyes, just because they are thinking they have the right to attack, Every year when school starts, many parents discover that their child’s education is not running as smoothly as they would like. Each kid is different and they learn in different ways the school is a tool but the base start at home with us (THE PARENTS) My kids had a amazing year first years in this school. I truly appreciate every single public school that my kids have been attending for years, all of us have the right to look for the best fit for your kids but don’t be ridiculous putting all the weight on any school, teacher or even school principals if your kids don’t do good in school. Teachers spend more time with your kids that parents, so we need to have their back and do our part in the few hours when they come home from school, you can also get involved with the schools needs to find the way to make our kids succeed. Or later we will be blaming the police or the whole society for their failure.

The school education is fine, I have no problem with it. The problem is the students and segregation. If you dont fit the norm in ala, (being mormon, white, well off financially,Republican, straight,or popular,) you will most likely not have fun social life. I've heard many of my fellow classmates 'joke' about other races, cultures, religions, and other minorities. Many of the students are very ignorant and closed minded. I've never experienced bullying myself but I've never felt fully welcome by the 'ala community' as I dont fit many of the ala norms. From one of my friends experiences, she was bullied because of her religion, when she went to someone about it the school didn't do much about it so she left the school . You will not find hardcore racist or extremist at ala , but many of the students are closed minded and dont think what they say effects others.

i am a student here at ala and i love ala, i chose to move from my old school to come here for many reasons, the main one being environment. The environment at ala is welcoming and positive, unlike my old school where i was exposed to many negative things. I love my teachers and the admin is amazing! this school is all very convenient, all my siblings and i all go here, no hassle of 3 different schools at different times. would definitely recommend ala!

My kids love ALA!

I have rarely known leadership at any school that is as dedicated and inspiring. Out of 3 states and 6 schools with four kids, this is the best administrative staff I’ve ever seen and their attitude and dedication seems to resound through the school. My son said he’s never seen a more inclusive group of kids, especially for a kid who just moved from CO.

The grade school campus was good and my younger daughter had a decent experience. The Jr High/High School campus at this location was very disappointing. The administration and Dean failed to respond to serious concerns which resulted in our withdraw from ALA entirely. My 13 year old daughter was being harassed by a male student, physically. She reported this to the Teacher in her class but nothing was done, in fact the Teacher assigned her to sit next to him so she could balance his behavior in class. I escalated the issue to the administration, speaking to the Principal/Dean, and again no action was taken other than a verbal apology from the Dean and only on the initial phone call. She felt unsafe and scared and expressed that it didn't matter if she told another staff member because nothing would happen. I also reported when she was exposed to pornography by another male student with his cell phone and sadly, the administration took no action. Cell phone use was encouraged in class rooms and those students who did not have a cell phone were disadvantaged 3/5 times. It is sad when a female students in 7th grade doesn't feel safe and is disadvantaged over other students for not having a cell phone at school as well as being exposed to pornography and the administration fails to take action to protect and serve its students. We had reasonable expectations for a good education and safe environment but the failure to respond to our concerns wasn't acceptable and didn't create a safe environment for my children to learn.

This campus is a paradox to its core beliefs. Ever since I transferred, I have highly regretted coming here. The segregation at this school is discussing, only a group of people is favored by coaches and staff and the rest are not even treated like humans. And if you want to send your children some where else, please do not consider this campus.

There is to much students. They jr big students are with the high schoolers. You can’t walk anywhere with out getting hit by someone.

Great school. The sports program is great, and the teachers are great at their job.

Took a tour here looking for a better fit for my daughter. I think it's easy to get caught up in the aesthetic of the property and structures, I mean they're built to sell you on the school and they are pristine. The woman conducting the group tour was aloof and a little pretentious for my taste. There was a lot of rambling about teaching the children to dance in a ballroom setting, a lot of focus on teaching boys and girls how to socialize with each other. I got a lot of Gilead vibes, if you know what I mean. Needless to say, it definitely wasn't for us. I would suggest that this school puts forth a little more effort in training their tour guides and focus more on what's important, academics. The tour totally made our decision to not apply here.

I am a student at the school and I personally have had a amazing experience at the school. They are open and very friendly. The only problems I have with the school is some of the teachers, but other from that it’s a great school with a good sports program.

I have sent my son here, and we are not part of the Mormon faith which makes up the majority of the population here. My kid comes home every night mad because he does not feel accepted to the “ala” culture. I am not saying Mormons are bad people, in fact they are great. But the case of the matter is the culture at this campus is unaccepting to diversity. This is one example of a high school in America that promotes segregation and “the perfect people”.The director sugar talked me into sending my son here, and I took his word for it. I am so disappointed with this decision, and I hope you don’t get persuaded to sending your children here also.
