%80 of students hate it here, but the school never acknowledges it. Teachers hand out more notes then talk about the lessons. Teachers seem scripted as if they're being told what to say and don't have any flexibility with their personal ways of teaching. If you have a special way of learning too bad. Unless you have a diagnosed problem, or score low enough on test to present a possible mental illness, no one works around your way of learning.
The only reason a majority of people like this school is because of its name and presence in the community. Unless you are a student you don't have a valid opinion on this school. Inside the classrooms is a lot different from you see on open house.
Rules are also made in certain ways that purposfully targets groups of students. Policies are made in ways that just hurts students and doesn't bring any value or lesson. There's a problem with many people moving to Daleville, New Brockton, Elba, and Dothan ONLY because they hate the school and experience social issues that don't get solved. Students who are often in and out of ISS or T.A.P.S. and disrespect teachers can be best friends with administrators and play tag in the hallway. If you're a straight A student they probably don't pay attention to you. Here's good advice, don't just get in trouble, get in trouble all the time. Your principal will be more friendly to you.
Also can the state of Alabama please give this school money? $70 year books, $30 parking, and new t-shirts to buy every week. On average $15 of lunch money tends to be spent in one week.
Hey hey hey, but they just painted the lunch room so that's cool right?
If you are a parent and reading this, do not take it likely and consider if your child's diploma having EHS on it is worth the trouble. The school does have its positives, but all school have similar positives. It's the negatives you need to consider. Trust me.
