Really enjoyed this restaurant. Old west feel, very friendly staff, quiet and clean on a weds night. Food was great and a good price. Homemade chips are awesome. Coleslaw always seems like a gamble and I use KFC as my coleslaw standard. This coleslaw is what KFC wishes it could do, very delicious! This was a fun relaxing stop on our long trip.

Fantastic food, great service. We arrived about 20 minutes before closing on a Sunday afternoon. The receptionist/waitress checked and said grill was still open. We ordered, and she said once food arrived to take our time, because they had lots of things they needed to work on. I had "The Angry Heifer" burger with tats, and hubby had the special of the day, fish and chips. Chips were homemade potato chips, fish was very lightly battered and crispy. Both were delicious, and my burger was fantastic! Will definitely stop again when the opportunity comes when we pass this way again.

We came off of I-25 to get a bite to eat! We walked into the Stampede and were delighted that around 20 talented musicians were having a jam session. The service was great, and the food was delicious! We were made to feel welcome felt like we were among old friends!

This is a great place to get off the interstate for awhile! The food is cooked and served well. The history of the area and the building kept us entertained while we waited for our meals. Be sure to try the homemade potato chips!

Locals all hang out at this place. A variety of hand formed beef patties that go into their burgers. Daily specials too. Had beer hater cod accompanied by some finger licking Cole slaw and fresh potato chips. Run by some very friendly staff too.

Second time there and this place is fantastic. Had the country fried steak and tried some of my friends pork fritter. Best I had in a long time. Stop in and get a great meal at a great place. You will leave with a full stomach.

Stoped on our way through from Sturgis. A touch off the freeway not hard to find. Great service and decent food. Good people, a gentlemen spent quite a bit telling usabout the placeand live music(Can't remeber when it is) untill our food arrived. I got the impression he was one of the owners. Passing through on our way to Yellowstone. We had the best burger ever. The meat was so delicious, it was out of this world! The atmosphere was awesome. We came on a Thursday evening and folks were just jamming out, taking turns on their instrument of choice, singing and having a great time. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you ever need to feel like you are part of a family this is the place to be. This family owned and operated business is the heart of Chugwater. This family has done more for this town then any other. I give Stampede Steakhouse off for for cowboy Ambiance and good musical entertainment. For food I give it an average at best now all that I have seen or tasted have been the burgers but they are pretty boring. I have also tasted the chicken-fried steak and it was not outstanding. Surface is good the people are very very friendly but we were overcharged for one beer... Two of us were charged for six beers instead of five beers and even when that was pointed out it wasn't corrected so as a former white person if I could lower it to a24 that I would accept that they are very friendly and maybe they just don't know how to deal with that yet this is a newly-opened establishment. I'm going to give them another shot it is a very fun place to take someone from out of town I'll tell you that it is pure cowboy!!

This place is really great. The decor is significantly upgraded, the menu simple but nicely varied and their periodic buffet is top notch. I asked for a custom lunch (low carb) and they obliged without hesitation. The staff was very attentive and we were well cared for throughout our meal. The simple one page "history" was a perfect introduction to our visit and give a clear picture of not just what came before, but how they are linking the past to the present.

Best burger flavor I've had in all of Wyoming and Colorado combined. Its Thursday afternoon here and there is about 8 people playing instruments playing folk music and all sorts of great historic americana music. If your anywhere near chugwater Wyoming find ur self here at this one horse town at this historic eatery. Good family fun and live banjo playing right now yeeehawww!!!!

I've been trying to get friends venturing through Wyoming to seek out this place. I was there in ????? 2000... We happened on it purely by accident on a road trip from Tampa to Seattle... having missed BOTH exits in Cheyenne at dinner time with the promise of Chugwater Chili up the road. As we pulled off the highway I joked that I was willing to bet they didn't have a McDonald's. Chugwater Chili was a tin sided trailer and closed. We drove up and down the 3X5 blocks of streets while my daughter whined and I said, we're here, let's check it out, how long could it possibly take????? And, bam, a STEAKHOUSE. Live music. THEY ASKED ME HOW THICK I WANTED MY STEAK... it was AMAZING. 10 STARS. The thing is that it looks like it changed hands, got cleaned up, remodeled and all of the cowboy and Indian artifacts are gone. WHAT HAPPENED?????? By pictures ALONE it easily lost 3/4 of it's charm and I'd be willing to bet that they no longer ask how thick you want your rib eye steak. Am I right?????
