The atmosphere inside was very nice. The menu was varied enough to appease most everyone. My Reuben sandwich was very good; tasty and lean! They have a nice bar and the prices were very reasonable. I'd go back

Brandi Davis

Old school kinda place - takes you back to your childhood where they used to bring mints to the table after dinner. Very friendly service.

Muriel Nelson

Very nice place. Standard American fare, done very well. Tiffany, my server, did a great job. I had the crab cake BLT which I highly recommend. Definitely worth stopping by.

We went to eat dinner, along with a while bunch of people...parking lot getting full and they never opened. It was a Saturday, July 6. I had called all day hoping to get a person even though they were not open yet, but what a disappointment as it was our 83 yo mom's birthday and we looked so forward to going. The food is awesome, salad bar is top notch, but how said for them that all the people in the parking lot had to leave without dinner.

We were a party of 5 and waited for our table in the bar area. They offer an extensive bar menu. Our drinks were served quickly and our table was ready right away. This restaurant offers a full menu of steaks, pasta, seafood and more. The salad bar was a nice option although it did not come with our entree which is surprising considering the cost. There were specials offered for the evening not on the menu. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The desserts looked fantastic but no one had room. I would go eat here again.

Another Guy

It's my favorite local restaurant in cheyenne. It's an almost casual fine dining experience that always delivers on it's promise of good eating. They also change up their specials every week, which is almost always unique and a must try. Groups of four or less is recommended, and there's tons of parking space. All in all it's an awesome restaurant you'll be sure to love.

Marsha Rae

yummy. who cares what it looks like. you must go

Carrie Summerford

Amazing food, great service, and friendly atmosphere! My husband and I loved it!

T R

Ordered their chicken Cordon Bleu. It was good but wasn't anything mind-blowing. Seems like a simple restaurant to go to for dinner.

Charles Watson

Excellent service and food. The Buffalo steak was fantastic!!

John Maier

Really Great service! Good, clean decor. Good food. A bit chilly (they didn't turn up the thermostat until we arrived on a cold, windy day.

Philicia Hup P

I like the dinner menu more than lunch, but both are still very good. Best prime rib steak around.

Joshua Lurkins

In Cheyenne, I was waiting for my buddy and decided to stop at poor Richards for the fancy food. I ordered their fanciest dish, but was surprised to get a mushroom sandwich! The servers thought this was hilarious and said it was the best! They kept walking by the table whispering "mushroom". Quite frankly I was confused and scared. When I asked for the check they gave me a bother mushroom sandwich. 0/13

Trent Demarest

This is by far the best dinner restaurant in Cheyenne. Great menu, solid wine list (bottles are half price Monday and Tuesday!), nice ambiance...and no TVs! For my wife and I, at least, that last one is a huge plus. The bar is comfortable and classy, and the bartenders know what they're doing. We are regulars at Poor Richard's and will remain so for as long as we live in Cheyenne. Now, if they'd only offer brunch on the weekend...

Evan N Rachael Wetzel

Always wonderful food, service, atmosphere, and excellent lunch menu.

Anne Mehrling

We saw the restaurant from the car, even though the sign was hard to see. The food was marvelous and the service excellent.

D3 Mattimoe

Great place to eat, and relax.1/2 price bottle of wine nice surprise food excellent as well as service.

Dylan Rose

Classy. Bar has a cozy 60-years-ago speak-easy type of feel. Great food, great service, I'd recommend sitting in the bar, it's usually quiet and has a great warm feel. Steak is great and cooked perfectly, apps were satisfactory although if ordering for more than two, may order more than one app. Reservations are available and we always make them but have yet to need it. No reservations for bar area.

Desiree Francis

Jessica was simply a wonderful waitress, food amazing, their salad bar great. Highly recommend this place and will be back.

Amy Kamen

Gordon Ramsay would have a field day. Smells like a bathroom puck when you first walk in. It goes away in the restaurant thank goodness. Coffee drink served essence of warm... so we're the veg and mash potatoes. I'm guessing they have everything peeped and the holding area is not to temp... Waist of money for a night out. With a few major changes I bet it could be great.

Robert Simpson

Great food and service, had one of the specials of the night along with the salad bar

Clay Rumsey

A group from work were in town for a few weeks, and this is one of the three best places we ate while we were here. Our service was good, as was the food.

Bennofortier B

tl;dr: great food, heavy 80's decor, great drinks, soup & salad bar. Atmosphere 5/10, but food is 15/10. If you are looking for delicious food and an interesting dining experience that embodies the "gives-no-sh**s" Wyoming attitude, look no further. Poor Richard's is a restaurant ripped out of the 80's, frozen in time (it even has a soup and salad bar!). The decor is heavy, bulky, and all wood; it feels like a roadside cafe playing 80's business man dress up. Along with this, the seating is private but also feels cramped, and the bar is cozy (and the drinks are very good). Just like the decor, the food is big, rich, and heavy. While seemingly somewhat pricey when looking at the menu, upon receiving our food we were blown away. We started with the hummus (tasted very fresh, homemade), artichoke heart, olive (kalamata and cerignola), and toasted pita plate ($10), which I highly recommend as a starter. My $28 (included salad bar) huckleberry demi-glaze bison ribeye was a massive (~20oz), melt in my mouth, delicious meal. My fiancee ordered an equally fresh, big, and delicious seared salmon salad ($15). If you are looking for hearty portions of delicious food in a setting that doesn't care it hasn't been updated since 1984, then look no further. I highly recommend this place for traveling foodies looking for a local spot; not only will this satisfy your pallet, it will give you a taste of the "gives-no-sh**s" Wyoming attitude.

Highly recommended This place is loime home away from home, I instantly felt like I was in the right place I felt very Welcomed I had the brisket sandwich as the steaks hadn't been cut yet This sandwich was absolutely delicious Packed full of flavor that bbq sauce tasted homemade and added some depth to the overall flavor I'll definitely be a repeat customer here

Nicole Curran

This place was Amazing! Service was excellent. Reasonably priced. I had the French Dip and it SERIOUSLY was the best I have ever had. We will definitely be back!

Alicia Brown

Staff is always friendly. Food is delicious and priced just right. I love their fresh salad bar and homemade hot soup. Best in town!

Matt Ruebs

One of the only real food restaurants in town, great features and best salad bar in town. You will pay a little bit to eat here, but the service, food and overall dining experience make it totally worth it if you enjoy real food. My go-to date night spot, i reccomend the lounge booths.

Mark Muirhead

Excellent Food and Service. 1 of the families favorite places...

Robert Cepelak

What a shame. I've been here numerous times in the past and I'm from Denver.... So the drive here is over an hour. Sat in the lounge with my partner and we were ignored by the waitress. Then I heard there rotisserie chicken that I was going to order (if the waitress had bothered to show) wouldn't be ready for 45 minutes because they forgot to put it in the oven! After waiting another 10 minutes with no service we walked out. Going to the Wyoming Chop House instead. Mistakes like not getting your chicken in the oven is regrettable but being ignored is unforgivable in my book.

Wolfgirl's Vid

Best Meal I have had in a while

Cindy Demers

Food is always amazing, service os outstanding! One of the best places to eat in Cheyenne!!

cheyennepokes

Food here is reasonably priced for the area. We especially enjoyed the well stocked soup and salad bar. There aren't many places with salad bars in Cheyenne, so if anyone has a hankering for one this is our go to

Charlene Holtzclaw

Best salad bar and prime rib sandwich was

Rebecca Pechin

This is easily the best food on town. The staff is kind and patient, the food is good, and the atmosphere is perfect. Think smoky grandma house. That sounds weird but it's cozy. I highly recommend their fries and their steaks, I think they're the best in town.

Amy Mahoney

The best steak we have eaten at a restaurant, hands down! The service was amazing and the atmosphere calm and inviting. Loved that my daughter knew who "Poor Richard" was too!

CRISTAL weller

We love this place. Has a great salad bar friendly staff and my significant other likes that they have some of the best crab cakes. He compares them to the east coast where they are made with real crab. Nice and cozy too.

Michael Kelley

Great food and atmosphere.

Golden Car Comics

Our salads were soggy and luke warm. It was obvious that the ingredients on the salad bar were much fresher than the ingredients in our chicken salad and salmon salad, which came from the kitchen. When the half eaten salads were pushed to the side, the staff offered no concern over why the salads were unfinished.

Dustin C Corbet

The Salmon was very good though a bit skimpy on serving size. The food came out promptly however this is the second time I have eaten here and the service was atrociously slow... Again. It was a large party but terrible slow in getting our orders taken and checks.

Faron Russell Jones

Kid friendly. Great food.

Melissa Martin

Good salad bar for a lunch hour.

Shelley Otoupalik

FABULOUS FOOD, FABULOUS SERVICE, GREAT PRICES!!

Bubba Porter

Wonderful food , excellent service , peaceful , enjoyable atmosphere !

Kristy Rayner

Don't care for the simplified decor, lost some of the personality that made dining there so pleasant. Steak is excellent, cooked perfectly. We visit once a year after the gun show.

Michele Binz

Great service and the food was tasty!

Sheila McNeely

Great service! We had a delicious meal and our large family had some wonderful options to choose from. Our server was so nice and helpful. We had a very good lunch experience!

Roseline Goepfert

Tony Signorelli

On our way from CA to Il we stopped to sleep in Cheyenne. We stumbled across poor Richards. We gave it a shot. IT WAS AMAZING! We had choppino, homemade sausage and pasta and chicken picata! All excellent. Sit in Michael's section!

Alvin Harris

The set menu was an experience we all thoroughly enjoyed.

Wes O'Hara

Service was exceptional and they helped me decide on my meal choices. Food was delicious and on point. Had the stuffed salmon with escargot to start and both were flavorful and just as ordered. Portions were a little small but nothing out of the ordinary for a restaurant of this caliber. They were also able to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Great old fashioned as well.

Conrad Bravo

Been in town plenty times and haven’t tried this place until now. Lots of great reviews especially on the service. It was not a let down at all. The outside doesn’t at all do the inside justice. Lots of pretty woodwork and decor. Walking in there's a decked out vintage looking bar and dim lit tables with cushioned chairs. On the other side there’s rows of intimate tables and booths. Menu is full of plenty of dishes to satisfy any kind of inkling. Service was pleasant and attentive. Large parking lot as well which filled up very fast at lunch time.

Jesse LaFramboise

If I could select more than 5 stars I would. What a fantastic experience! From the moment I walked in my senses were tingling. The family lineage is refreshing in this day and age and the stained glass and decor match to boot. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. (The owner/head chef, Mike even came out to chat) And the food.. unreal. The specials, which I found out rotate regularly, were unique and intriguing. My choice: the Bison NY Strip so tender my 80 year old grandmother could have eaten it...WITHOUT her dentures! All specials come with the soup and salad bar which is a meal in itself and nothing like your local Golden Coral. Anyways, I couldn’t recommend this establishment any more. The prices may be a little steeper than your Texas Roadhouse but do yourself a favor and spend an evening with some professionals. Thanks everyone! I’ll be back soon.

Josh Osborne

Great food, friendly staff and a calm, relaxing atmosphere.

Dave Chin

Nice place, felt somewhat under dress for the place.

Ryan Green

Awesome steaks! Good service! Nice environment.

Ronald Vanbuskirk

Best chicken fried steak in my 53 years.

Scott Trowbridge

Poor Richards is surprising nice inside. It is one of the 3 places in town we meet for business dinners with vendors and clients. The food is upscale, particularly for Cheyenne. They have a wonderful soup and salad bar, be sure to try the coleslaw, it is possibly the best I've ever had, however I recommend adding some raisins to it from the salad bar too. Be warned Friday and Saturday nights they have a tendency to run out of bread. Small issues aside this restaurant is worth the stop if you are looking for a high quality meal. Be sure to check the specials board when you arrive and again... try the coleslaw. Oh and call ahead for a quick reservation, even just 15 minutes in advance can save you a wait.

Tanya B

Tender, perfectly prepared prime rib at a reasonable price. Tasty salad bar. Cozy old-time ambience. Prompt, warm service. Not a big menu, but plenty if you like steak and chicken.

Robin Wheeler

The service and food was excellent. . .

jo p.

the food is high quality, and cooked beautifully. Love it.

Jesse Coblentz

Great atmosphere and good food. Very friendly staff to boot.

Gary Anderson

Great food and salad bar. Service was outstanding.

cj

This is our go-to for special occasions. Their bacon salad dressing is worth the trip alone. I have yet to have anything but an excellent meal here. Well, the chicken was a little dry once, but still tasty. Service is always top notch. There is a reason why this place has stuck around for so long in a town where non-chain restaurants come and go like a pair of underwear.

Sandy Armstrong

Food is good but I don't think they appreciate solo diners..

Matt Smith

Excellent steak! My wife and I had the pleasurable opportunity to eat here for a date. We split the 16oz ribeye, along with individual sides ($3.95 extra to split) and each portion cooked to our liking. Portion sizes for the steak were perfect for us. I could have used another scoop of veggies and a gallon of the garlic mashed potatoes. But that's just me. Speaking of garlic, be prepared for it. It's in nearly everything! For dessert we split a wedge of their triple-chocolate cake. As a chocolate lover, I'd never thought I'd say this...Too. Much. Chocolate. :) The prices are spot on for what they serve. Their beverage prices aren't bad, either. I can see us returning for another dinner date in the future.

Ardie Steinbronn

Food is Fantastic..Service is Awesome

Gary Hampson

Good food when catering for 20+ people at the same time

Dariel McLane

Good food, good service, great atmosphere.

David Tidwell

Good food, nice layout. Wasn't horrible. They need a better selection of draft beer and they need to work on getting the entire tables meal ready at the same time so all food comes out hot. 1 of our guests that was with us ordered the swordfish and it came out cold. ****revision**** this is the only way it would let me respond to the owner. We came in ( party of 5 ) on either Friday the 7th of June or Saturday the 8th. We were seated in an open area, lots of room..we had a Male waiter. Who showed us all the menu and then showed us the specials menu. On that Specials Menu was Swordfish. My friend ordered it and it came out cold. Not sure why you are trying to claim you do not serve swordfish.

Timothy Anderson

Great food. Quiet atmosphere. Wait staff was very good and properly attentive.

Andrew Woodman

Great food, service and tap selection. The atmosphere is peaceful and old-timey. As as bonus, most people don't bring their children here.

Debra Schneider

Enjoy the salad bar. Atmosphere is enjoyable. You can be heard in a conversation.
