Our waitress at Cactus Jack's was pretty good. The food was certainly less than we expected, quality wise. Since it was a family of 7, we sat at the restaurant, not the bar. My husband's meal was soaked in bbq sauce. It was so drenched he couldn't even taste the meat he was eating. The "Baked Beans" were about 25% beans to 75% sauce. The baked potatoes, however, were pretty awesome. After we had paid our $89 bill, we checked our bank account. $89 did not come out. $107 did. Which was (and is) frustrating. I don't think I will travel the 50+ miles to go back.

We are traveling across country for a few weeks. The Peppermill was a pleasant surprise. This was the best food we’ve come upon thus far! Great options, good port & cooked perfectly. I’d highly recommend it! Cocktails were great too! The service was excellent as well. BONUS.

My husband and I ate there last night and while the food was pretty good, the server we had barely paid attention to us most of the night. We were the last two people in the restaurant side after we had been there for about twenty minutes. Once we were the only ones left, she didn't check on us after we got our food and we had to wait about another fifteen minutes when we were done eating to get our check. My husband decided after that to not leave a tip. Our bill totaled out to be $42.09 and when he checked our account this morning it showed that they had taken out a total of 50.51. I didn't see anything on the menu of an automatic gratuity charge and most restaurants that charge a gratuity charge it for large tables anyway. We will not be going back again! Totally unacceptable!

The only thing worse than the terrible service was the horrible food. It took a long time for the food to come, and there was only two tables in the restaurant. Then the food came and it was genuinely disgusting. The meat was the worst meat I've had in my life, the sauce tasted like it had parts cleaning solvent in it, and the potatoes and soup were bland at best. On top of all that, the whole placed smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. It must have been drifting from the bar, but it was very strong and all of my clothes smelled like smoke when I got home. I would suggest going anywhere else, but then again, nothing in Rawlins is worth mentioning. I suggest the Dennys at the nearby truck stop.

Food is good but PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM FLIES omg they are everywhere and can't even eat in peace. And also please hire another waitress....1 waitress handling 12 tables at once is not good It took me about 45 minutes to get my ticket. The biggest PROBLEM IS THE FLIES.

Great beer whiskey and environment pool table is in need of new felt also it is hard to get on table as paitrins take your quarters that's not the bars fault. Could use a little updating considering it has had tons of business when I've been there profits should be amazing as long as it is properly managed :-)

We went there for lunch my father-in-law my mother-in-law died and it was very good the waitress was outstanding so we decided to go back for dinner and man was awful my mother-in-law said this is her fish was like dough my husband's food was cold he had steak my father-in-law's food was cold I had the ribs and it looked like I had gotten the last of them that they had for the day our waitress was nice but she was a ghost so I guess I'm saying lunch time was the best dinner time I guess is for the bar

I visited this bar while being in town working and noticed that one of their customers was completely intoxicated and was asking people for a ride home or a cab. I politely asked the bartender a burley fellow with a long red beard if he knew of any cab services and could call the gentleman a cab home, he stated in a completely unprofessional and inappropriate manner "I'm busy there's the number you (expletive deleted ) call!. Normally I wouldn't become offended but when a person of that extreme intoxication could potentially KILL multiple people on his drive home because of a bartender's negligence and refusal to take the accountability of the fact that he overserved this patron, or at least have the decency to make sure he made it home safe and did not endanger the life of others ,that's where I draw the line I will never step foot, support ,or spend another dime in that bar! I understand people get drunk in a bar ive been a bartender myself since '96 but to completely ignore and lash out when someone points it out is ridiculous! And this bar should be shut down!

My wife and I sat at the bar to have food and drinks. The service was very good even with a fairly busy atmosphere. Our beverages were served quickly and taste was good. We were offered menus immediately by the barkeep. I ordered their Chicken Alfredo and she ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. We didn't have to wait to long for food and when we got our plates both of them were not skimpy. The food was really really good along with a fairly inexpensive ticket. So when your in Rawlins, Wyoming and looking for some good food and service then I recommend this place highly.

Fun bar with lots to do from Cornhole to darts, skills games, pool and more. Bartenders were super friendly and fun. You must try the Rick and Morty shot - vodka infused with pickles and peperoncinos. Amazing!

I never post reviews but this place has it coming. Had to be the moat sorry meal/experience ever. 13 of us after regional wrestling stopped in for what we hoped for nice dinner. My fault for not walking out, not a local person there. Or when they only had 5 menus and the tables that come in had to wait for ours pass around. Prime rib like leather, medium rare must mean 5 day road kill...cold and well done. Kids frys cold, wife couldn't eat the samon not enough sour cream make it down. Soup was warm broth. Disappointing!

The restaurant was nicely decorated with Western theme. The food was really good. Service excellent. We ate there on a Wednesday evening. Only drawback was the music from the bar. Only thing separating the bar n restaurant was a very long accordion type plastic door. Music with it's base way up was more than disturbing while trying to enjoy our conversation and dinner.

Place is well-known for its association with the RPD, and they arrange staged "Fights" that "Involve you" for them to "Respond to," and then later arrest as DUI. This, after a "Little Blue Pill" finds itself in your drink, it is said... It's well known that females should NEVER leave their drinks alone in ANY Rawlins bar, anyway, but this place is special. If you look "Too conservative," maybe... a threat to "Activities," there? Count on the RPD to be waiting for you at the curb. Good luck trying to do their balancing test after the "Little Blue Pill," and have even further good luck if you're dumb enough to choose the Public Defender as counselor. They'll teach you a lesson about WHO runs things in Rawlins, you won't forget. For at least 6 months in an orange jumpsuit, anyway. On top of which, the music is loud you'd better learn sign language, or plan on going deaf for a while.

Great place for the small town of Rawlins Wyoming. Awesome chicken wings. They give u 6 different sauces to try but by far the best for me was the hot sauce. Hottest I have had in a long time. I even ordered some to take 10 hours back to my house.

The Ribeye had good flavor but I thought it was kinda funny how my 16oz ribeye was the exact same size as my Moms 12oz prime rib. We were told we would have to wait an hour for a baked potato so we opted for the Mac and cheese which came from a box most likely generic with shredded cheddar semi melted on top. The corn was canned over cooked probably a week old reheated 10 times. EVERYTHING WAS OVERPRICED $130 for 3 people to eat dinner with no alcoholic beverages. DO NOT EAT HERE.

The Peppermill is a great place to sit down and bs, listen to music, and have a few drinks. The staff is exceptional and the food was tasty. The margarita's on the other hand... I would suggest ordering a different drink.

A really good menu, one of the best places to eat in town, quiet. Decent pricing and friendly staff! I don't go to the bar very much but I've had fun every time I have gone here, just be aware that a fight breaks out at some point at least once a week.
