This is one of our favorite places to eat. I had the Bunkhouse Bar chef salad and my wife had the Beef Wellington. Both a very good. The Bunkhouse Bar Band played some great music. The staff are always friendly.
Caitlin our server was Awesome! I had the salmon filet, my son had chicken fried steak, with a side of onion rings and for dessert Strawberry Rhubarb pie a La Mode, which was all very good. The only disappointment was when I asked for Butter, they only offered margarine. Margarine is extremely bad for your health it has plastic in it. So I ate my baked potatoe dry. The entertainment was great! My son who is stationed at Warren really liked the comfy feeling he got there, we both enjoyed having dinner there. If I may make a suggestion, offer a 10% discount to our military for meals, not alcoholic beverages! Btw we are from California! God Bless the USA!
Great people, great atmosphere, great food!!!
Still great food and friendly service But NO LONGER a smoker friendly
Working in the area, First time in, great food, had the special. Very pleasant waitress here for two more weeks I'll be back for sure.
Great place to go after a long week. And now non-smoking
Great food for a reasonable price
Cold beer, great food, awesome people. What more do you need?
Great friendly staff good food
The prime rib was wonderful! The band was good too!
It is just average. I had the rib eye steak and it should melt in your mouth, but was tough. The salad was warm and had brown leaves. Rod the owner just stopped at the table to see hlid we were happy with our meal. I told him what I thought and he was eager to make it right. Good man!
Normally, the service is very good. Not so this last visit. The person behind the bar was rude & charged for drinks we didn't receive. I later learned that person was one of the owners. I'm not inclined to line the pockets of people like that.
It's was great. Food was great and the waitress was great.
Delicious! Best steak ever! Just wish they had had bread. Just on weekends. I highly recommend it, rho
We come here a lot. Great food at a good price
It was a great experience. The food was really good. Friendly atmosphere.
The bunkhouse bar and grill is a nice place w an old west frontier atmosphere. They still have hitching posts to tie the horses to while you come in eat drink and enjoy live music during frontier days. Was gonna take some pictures and they have all areas posted. Really like to visit the bunkhouse bar and grill. Highly recommended to out of town right looking for live entertainment, great food, and an ice cold brew. Not far from Crystal lake.
Great brisket and sausage spaghetti. Great atmosphere.
Great food and service
I didn't like the food. The burger claimed to be the best, they are definitely missing out if they feel that way. You could tell the patty was just frozen. Dont waste your time on that burger for sure. Plus i ordered it well done and it was pink all in it.
The food was very good. Good service & friendly people. The antique s were awsome
Such a fun time. Dinner and dancing. Great food and on weekends and really good western band, and a dancing crowd.
Good food and drinks
Nice place out of the way. This place does allow smoking which can drift into the seating area from the bar. Food was good.
Amazing food, nothing compares to the quality beef as we as amazing serve from the staff.
Awesome food and atmosphere!!
Great atmosphere. The food was abundant and reasonable prices. I'd recommend you go experience this restaurant.
Amazing steaks phenomenal Beef Wellington worth the drive!
Kinda pricey but food and craft beer is worth it. Service excellent too. Wish it wasn’t over 1000 miles away!
Good food at a fair price, enjoyed the live band that performs on Saturday night.
Best rural restaurant and bar around Cheyenne!
Great spot for dinner and a band. Despite the info on Google, by NO means do they close at 9pm, at least on Saturday.
It was extremely hospitable with people calling you "dear" and "hon". The food was good for what I had and the music was definitely a stable of the place. It's a place you would go to swing dance.
Fantastic atmosphere! Great service & great food!
The bunkhouse is so welcoming and the food tastes awesome! We will be back!
Amazing staff, and great live music
Really good
Excellent service, excellent food, excellent atmosphere
I had smothered steak. Was cooked to perfection. Service wonderful
Folks are awesome the food is great not to mention the Rocky Mountain oysters a must try, the weekend specials are all ways very tasty you can't miss Friday night and Saturday night dancing the band is incredible good old country easy dancing then not to mention the pickers Circle that starts at 1:30 on a Sunday enjoy
For what food they do have to choose from it's pretty good. The seating is tight tho
The service and food were great! Nice gem in the middle of nowhere.
I stopped in here during my cross country bicycle tour while I was writing from Laramie to Cheyenne Wyoming. I stopped here mainly because I thought it was about to rain and storm really bad and I thought I would take cover at a business that had food. I was so fortunate. First of all the service was incredible. My waitress was very nice and hospitable. Very polite and ask me about I stopped in here during my cross-country bicycle tour while I was riding from Laramie to Cheyenne Wyoming. I stopped here mainly because I thought it was about to rain and storm really bad and I thought I would take cover at a business that had food. I was so fortunate. First of all of the service was incredible. My waitress was very nice and hospitable. Very polite. I had the BLT with fries and for a simple sandwich and I thought it was very delicious. I was able to sit in the restaurant charge my phone and relax while the storm passed over and I liked the interior very much very catchy and reminded me of my grandma’s house. love this place
Worth the drive. I enjoyed a Bunkhouse club and Chocolate cream pie. My partner in crime also enjoyed the Bunkhouse club and Kaloolah Chocolate layered cake. So yummy.. price is right with excellent service, stick around on Friday and Saturday nights to enjoy the live band!
I would like to say that any of the reviews that talk about toxic or bad owners within the past 8 months-ish, the original owners have returned. Chance and Jennifer are no longer the owners and I am sorry if anybody had a bad experience with Chance and Jennifer. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is astounding, and the service is amazing and very welcoming. They have a band that plays there and they are also amazing, totally would suggest going especially if you had a bad experience with the past owners.
Worth the drive west of Cheyenne on Happy Jack rd
Always good service when we go.
An out of the way place with great ambiance and even better food. Prices are very reasonable for what you get too. Worth the trek.
The waitress was so sweet. The burger was the best I've had in cheyenne. Food came out fast and perfect! Worth the drive!
Always good food and great atmosphere. Very friendly staff
Very good food and very nice people I highly recommended the bunkhouse
Love this place. Great food. Good atmosphere
DO NOT SUPPORT this business. The owners are toxic; incapable of holding an adult conversation and one cannot trust a word they say. Chance and Jennifer could have done such a better job with the place; it is a real shame that the development of this business (and incredible location/experience) will be forever limited and shackled by poor leadership. We tried to bring an event there for the growth of the Wyoming community and they sabotaged it at the last minute. I guess my home state prefers that people to keep travelling down to CO to see music and spend their money. SHAME!
Music & atmosphere was so enjoyable. Food was so tasty and waitress was attentive.
Awesome food, people. Wonderful place to relax. U might see someone's horse parked out front at times. Yep!!!!
They always have good food buy this time we went it wasnt the greatest because we probably didnt get waited on for about 30 to 40 mins but I know it was packed. So Im still going to give it five stars because the food was still really good and we got to listen to the band and we all had a good time.
Great hidden little gem tucked between Curt Gowdy and Cheyenne. Stop in for great food and a beer.
We loved it! Great food and atmosphere, well worth the drive from Wellington, Colorado.
Enjoyed it. It was a bit loud for my taste but otherwise was a good time
Best food. Great place
Nice place out of town that has good food and great service.
Food was decent, not amazing. The atmosphere was awesome. The band was great but we were sitting right at the stage...speaker right at our table so we were unable to visit with our friends. We will definitely give it another go!
GOOD food
Great music on band nights, fun dancing, good food.
Fantastic bacon wrapped fillet.
Worth the trip
Good food great friendly people
Good food!
Great food, and the service was good. Food was a little slow, but they were extremely busy that night.
Great food and great service! The prime rib was delicious!
Awesome clam chowder. Awesome burgers. Awesome fries
Really good food and the owners are super nice!
Best service and food we've had in a very long time. Going to make it a point to go eat and enjoy live music more.
Now a smoke free environment.
Sorry but NOT like it used to be. They put me at a table where I could feel every step of the help. I had to pause eating because I thought I would spill something from the shaking. It took awhile until they took my order. I had to wait because they ran out of menus (?) and there was NO drink / beer / wine menu. I guess they switched the wines because the Cabernet Sauvignon wasn't nearly as good as before. I ordered the sirloin medium but it was almost medium well. The sweet mashed potatoes were smothered in butter. I won't be coming back.
Rating is based only on service. ***First, I must note that there was a memorial gathering and I'm not sure that the restaurant was quite ready for that-- then add in it being the finals of the Cheyenne Frontier Days and I'm not sure the restaurant was prepared for that. However, that is not why I gave this restaurant a 1 Star. We came and placed our name on the waiting list (party of 5), 30 minute wait- no big deal. Everywhere in Cheyenne had a wait. The issue is after about 25 minutes, another group (party of 6) came in and stated they had reservations (the restaurant was not offering call ahead seating due to the various events happening), the hostess explained this to the group as they attempted to get placed ahead of everyone else that had been waiting.. the "adult" in the party raised enough issue that Sonia, manager on duty, got involved. After about 10 minutes the party of 6 moved past everyone waiting and got seated. I asked Leslie, the hostess, what was going on and why that party was seated ahead of all of us waiting and her response was, "Sonia is handling it and if anyone had a problem to speak to her." I asked what about the rest of us waiting and what does that make our approximate wait time. Leslie responded with, "well it's longer now" and then gave a snarky look. Needles to say, we went elsewhere. I'm sure they have great food as the place was very busy-- we just did not get to try it. The service is all I'm rating
Mashed potatoes were fake & in a scoop, I expected real ones from a well known steakhouse. The white & brown gravies were as bland as most restaurants. Country fried steak was very good & tender. One inch portion of prime rib was good too. “No rolls served during the week”...after we asked for them.?? Should have said that on the menu. Mashed Sweet potato’s were good. Soup was tasty & a bit spicy for me. Lots of veggies & meat. Service was good and friendly.
Chicken fried steak was one of the best I've had with excellent cream gravy. My wife's hamburger had great beef char flavor. A couple of blue moons and some great tunes from the band was a great way to end a day of hiking.
A local favorite! Great western atmosphere and good food. Close to the mountains so you can take a hike or ride the trails horseback.
Local and fun, we stop on the bike every time we pass
Nice place. Rustic setting. Good food. Friendly staff.
If you like to breathe cigarette smoke and share your food with flies, then this is the place for you! Your hair and clothes will smell like smoke from the "no smoking" dining area. We drove the 13 miles from Cheyenne because of the good reviews. My baked potato was old and brown inside and my husband's fish and chips were underdone. You literally could not eat without shooing flies the entire meal. Our bill was $32, and the rolls listed in the menu were missing. The steak was good and the waitress was ok, but I'm praying we don't get sick.
Great food, great service, great music
We all enjoyed a great meal and everyone danced up a storm with that great band!!!
Amazing burgers and service was perfect too! Fries were some of the best we have ever had.
Great atmosphere, great food (French dip is bomb and the Rocky mountain oysters were on ****ing point!) , strong drinks and most people would probably like that they no longer allow smoking inside. I was bummed because it was cold as balls out, but hey, the place doesn't stink now.
Fantastic burger. Great chargrilled flavor and large size with fresh tomatoes and lettuce.
Love the bunk house my sweetie likes to smoke but now they are non smoking The steak sandwich is always good nice to see real Cowboys and ranchers Love Wyoming
Love their Chef salad. They have great hamburgers too.
The prime rib was fantastic. Friend got the filet and it was huge. Prices really reasonable for the quality. Busy place that only takes reservations for large groups. They have live music in the evenings.
Great steak! Fun atmosphere. Reservations suggested on Saturdays.
Great meal. The menu was a little small but the food is great! Well worth the drive out there.
We had the bunkhouse burger, I was asked how I wanted it cooked. Oh wow ok medium, would i like bacon well yes. What kind of cheese pepper jack, how about onion rings. Oh my goodness what a good meal.
We know the owners very nice people!
Worth the drive. Steak was perfect. Ham and Bean soup was the best that I have ever had.
Great food and atmosphere
The best bacon cheeseburger!! Fun environment..live music. Good time always!
I ordered the beef wellington and I loved it. The live music was fun and the post Wyoming football crowd was awesome and fun. I will return to this place again and I sure hope the horse is tied out front again when I do......Only in Wyoming do you still see a horse tied up like in the Old West
Great place to go for beer and dinner
Great dinner
Beauty place I eat and enjoy good music
We love the small bar feel, bartenders are super friendly! Really great food too
Love the food and I could smoke a smoke and poop at the same time #bucketlistcheck
It was great......so much better without cigarette smoke!
Legendary Restaurant and Bar.
We have visited here a few times and I am cross-posting a few thoughts that I posted to my Yelp account about 3-4 years ago. Trying to decide where my wife and I wanted to go on a date and after reading some of the reviews, I was a little skeptical, but having lived in West Africa, I knew the food had to be better than that. It is about 12 miles west of Cheyenne on Happy Jack Rd. as you head towards Curt Gowdy State Park. On the outside, the restaurant is definitely a rustic feel as is the inside. In a phrase, definitely down-home western style. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us some recommendations. She was not pushy but answered our questions and gave rave reviews for the Beef Wellington which we asked about. Now, I have not eaten Beef Wellington since a little pub back in my home country of England. The salad was crisp and plentiful. The baked potato was melt in your mouth and even the salt-encrusted skin was full of flavor and easy to chew. The Beef Wellington was not quite what I expected in that it was succulent pieces of beef with mushrooms, onions, and gravy in a puff pastry. Except for the cowboy hats, cowboy boots, and the country and western music (which was not too loud), I thought I was back in England. It was phenomenal. We finished up with a piece of coconut cream and chocolate silk pie. They were as good as the meal itself. Nothing was overdone, and there was enough to bring home some leftovers. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I expect this will be a regular treat on date nights. As for the prices, it was better than expected but higher than an established food chain like Texas Roadhouse or Outback. However, the ambience is much better and well worth the drive and the price difference. Would definitely recommend making the drive out there.
Stopped here with 2 friends while on vacation and it was fantastic! Service was great, food was prepared quickly and came out hot, and it the environment contains real western knickknacks that make you feel like it's the wild west. Located in a scenic part of Cheyenne
Great food, rustic Lodge type setting just outside Cheyenne City limits. This is a great place to eat and get away from it all. They have a live band performing Fri and Sat nights, and for anyone it might effect - they recently became a non- smoking establishment. This is a true Wyoming establishment - go! You won't regret it!
So fun and awesome steaks for a good price
Had a great night
Great unique place! Totally worth the drive. Great big menu. Friendly good service!
Down home place.
Excellent steaks and western fair. Had a great meal with family
It was awesome! Great food, friendly staff, Western and authentic atmosphere.
Great place out of the city. Food and bar are really good.
I wanted to like this place but was very disappointed.. the food was just okay and it's overpriced. It took an hour from the time we ordered till we got our food. And my order was wrong. I ordered the prime rib med well. It was served very rare. It took two times for them to fix it. The menu really talks up the prime rib how it's so seasoned and the best in Cheyenne. There was not on speck of seasoning on it. Very bland. I think people give positive reviews because of the music and atmosphere. Definitely go somewhere else for food.
Great food
Been coming here a long time and it always has great food and service. Also has live music and dancing on weekends. Cool trophy mounts on the walls and unique decor all around. Does have a room in the back for parties or private events.
This is one of my favorite places to eat and relax. Sorry Rod and Holly are no longer the owners but so far the new management has continued what they built.
Great Food! Great Service! Great drinks! Fun atmosphere, very comfortable, and very reasonably priced. You won't regret the stop.
Great place. Good food. Good beers. Good service. Great clientele. Lots of stories from lots of interesting people. Deck is dog friendly.
Love it since it is non smoking
Quality Steaks. It's not just regular old beef. The sirloin I had very tender. The prime rib was exceptional. Service was very attentive and friendly . Country atmosphere , very log cabin feel. Loved it.
The new no smoking atmosphere was awesome!!
We found this place because it had excellent reviews. We'd be there about 15 minutes when the band struck up, and it's reminiscent of days past with Golden hour country music. The steaks were quite good and the atmosphere was to die for. After all, where else could you find both front door horse parking AND four wheelers parked in the front?
I had the boneless pork chops (juicy), mashed sweet potatoes, beef veggie soup and a glass of white wine. Nice atmosphere, thoughtful and attentive staff and great flavor to all the food.
Western themed with great prime rib. The band is an added bonus.
I always enjoy stopping here for dinner. One of my favorite times here was during Christmas time and the local musicians were sitting in a circle on the dance floor strumming and singing Christmas and old country songs absolutely beautiful!
Excellent food peaceful good place to visit good place to eat
Best place in all of Wyoming to visit and eat ! Prices are reasonable, service is outstanding and friendly! Friday and Saturday nights Country Western dance nights. Have had visitors like George Strate, and Dignitaries across this Nation. You often find cowboys and horses at the hitching rails . Eating rooms are spacious both inside and outside. You MUST make it you family dining choice. It's an amazing stop you must make. Rare Ribeye steaks are my choice!
I love this place and wished I visited more often when I lived in Cheyenne. A cool place on the outskirts of Cheyenne to have a good drink and some really good food!! There are live bands depending on the day and I love that western decor and atmosphere. A definite must try if you are in the area.
Great bar and staff highly recommended
Great service, good choice of food and specials! I got the ribeye with green chile cheese fries. Husband hot the special - chicken fried steak with green chile and cheese. It was awesome!!!
Steak cooked exactly as I ordered it. A fair second place for steak house in the Cheyenne area.
This place is a hidden gem. Local music on some nights and great atmosphere. The only reason I’ve knocked it a star is my order has come out wrong both times I’ve visited. Not the end of the world as the food is usually good but it be nice to get an order right occasionally. But, small town feel and good food nonetheless should warrant a visit from anyone!
GREAT food and AWESOME service
The perfect place for a Wyoming meal. Loved the authentic atmosphere and delicious food!
Fantastic place! Good food, biker friendly.
Cute place, very casual and western. Good food and drinks but the service was terrible. I had a burger and my husband had prime rib. Also have live country music.
Great atmosphere and good food
Worth the trip out of the way. Very nice folks. Food was very good. The steak was extremely tender, and perfectly cooked.
Wonderful food & atmosphere! Moderately priced. Great service!
Good food good service
Great food
We are from Ohio and we can in here because we saw them listed as a spot to check out in a Cheyenne brochure we picked up that was kid friendly. They did not disappoint. The meal was great, the service was personal and attentive, the band was inviting, the music was appropriate, the dancing was a blast. Our daughter danced... and danced... and danced. The crowd that was in there were mostly locals that were friendly and not rowdy at all. One was a dance instructor and even taught our daughter some dance moves! We are travelling in a motorcoach across the USA and had so much fun there, we are going to make sure we stop in on our way from Billings, MT to San Antonio. The owner said we could park in the parking lot overnight... not just us... but anyone that need to! Check them out... off the beaten path a little but worth it!
Best Cowboy bar I have ever visited. Great steaks, cold beer & Western atmosphere. The band was a true country band & took all requests without exception. Amazing service.
Cool rustic ambiance with some down home kind of hospitality. Great destination ride and perfect place to relax and be yourself.
Great meal, great service, really unique atmosphere, the band was very good...sorry we didn't get to hear Molly sing...next time. We will definitely be back
Beautiful food. Fantastic music. And very friendly staff
Great food cold beer family environment and live country music awesome place
Thank you so so much, amazing place, delicious food and great staff
Great food, great service, with rustic old west decor to the max for sure
They have great food! I only wish we could have been there in the evening for their live music.
A homey, welcoming place! Pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff (“Rose”), great service and great food. We ordered a few appetizers, including the Rocky Mountain oysters. Interesting to try for the first time, I would order again! Prime rib was ordered medium rare and was seasoned wonderfully and cooked perfectly. Jam sessions on Sunday about 1. Great atmosphere for the whole family!
Good food, nice atmosphere.
My husband and I were out for a Sunday drive when we came upon the Bunkhouse looked like fun and it was we ended up meeting the owner a real handsome man. That was full of knowledge of the area places to see and what not. Ended up having the best lunch we have had in a long time and the price was more than fair. There was a nice soft country band that sounded so good we didnt want to leave. Great place just to hang your hat put your feet up enjoy a great meal with good company real throw back in time we LOVED IT and are planning our next trip!!!!!
Nice place. Great food and staff!
Hey caleb it was delisious
Have been here regularly but got no service today after a half hour wait.
