Best fried chicken I've ever had. Very rustic atmosphere and excellent service. Corn bread is sweet and cakey. Fried okra is delicious. Red beans and rice are savory and salty. The chicken is crispy, juicy, and fresh. It will blow your mind how good everything on the menu is. The pork and beef are both juicy and savory and flavorful. The peach cobbler is to die for. Even the waffles are delicious. If you like soul food, you better go here. If you like fried chicken, you better go here. If you like good food then you better go here!

My boyfriend and I went to eat there tonight and had some of the worst service I’ve had at a restaurant. We were seated and waited about 5 minutes for our waitress to ask us what we wanted to drink. I got the sweet tea which had an off chemical like taste to it. We then waited about 40-45 minutes for us to get our food which was lukewarm and dry. I was also given a wrong side for my meal as I ordered something different than what I was given. Our waitress never came to check on us. If the customers sat next to us hadn’t told our waitress we needed her I don’t think we would have gotten anymore service from her. I was very saddened to have this experience after hearing from friends that it was a good place to try out. I definitely won’t be back here again.

Best fried chicken in the state? Yeah. Been coming here for a while for the best southern food in the area. Not like some of the flavor lacking food like some of the other restaurants that stop at salt and pepper. I did forget to ask about that housemade hot sauce.... until next time...

My son and I waited only ten minutes to get seated on a Saturday night. We waited an hour to get our food! BUT, the food was beyond my expectations in quality, quantity and flavor! I will be back as there's plenty on the menu left to explore. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere quaint and inviting.

Had there food catered in at work was by far the best meal from any catering service. They actually stay and served the food as well very nice people. Then decided to test it out in person AMAZING!! Not only the food but the owner came around to the tables and checked on everything he was very appreciative, was so nice seeing the way he treated his guest will definitely be back again.

We decided to try this place by ordering via UberEats since we heard it was so busy to eat there in person. We ordered a chicken & waffle plate and two different sandwiches. Upon our first bites, we were very unimpressed and very grossed out. Our sandwiches were FULL of bones. Small bones, large bones. Large chunks of chicken skin. We had to pull the entire sandwich apart to make it at all safe to eat. The fries are INSANELY salty, to the point where they hurt your mouth. The barbecue sauce is much too sweet. The waffle was torn to bits and extremely soggy. It just seems like there isn’t any quality inspection or taste testing happening to these foods. Food was missing from our overall order, and it took about 2 hours to get to us because the restaurant took that long to prepare this meal... Being from Atlanta, I have a ton of exposure to delicious southern food. It doesn’t have to be perfect but it can’t be careless like this.

Ordered through a delivery service. Several issues: 1.) The chicken I received had barely any meat (was mostly bones) and had a large bad spot in it. It was also very tough. 2.) I put "NO plastic cutlery" in the comments, which was ignored. 3.) They forgot the bread pudding that I ordered. 4.) When I tried to call them to tell them that, all I got was a busy signal for 20+ minutes. Thankfully, the delivery service was super helpful and refunded the charge. I will not be ordering from here again.

Great Southern soul food at a good price. The only place in the area I know to get good catfish! And the cornbread is delicious when they have the right cook! Cajun and lemon pepper fries are usually seasoned rather well. I hear the chicken and waffles are delicious, as well as the Southern sweet tea.

stopped in for a beer and decided to eat. I had the "Big Jess" plate. Awesome pulled pork over a german sausage on a bun topped with coleslaw and barb q sauce. I got the beans and rice as a side. Too much to eat but it was awesome good. Cute atmosphere with great service.

I ordered gumbo and a Cozzy Platter which includes ribs, chicken and catfish. Two sides were chosen and cornbread was also included. Everything was very good and portions were very generous. I will be returning - online, that is. Don't let the 4 stars fool you - I'd give one meal I had in Roanoke 5 stars and that's it.

I take it they are not good with seating 1 person. Myself and the lady behind me stood there for 35min waiting to be seated. Was told we had to wait while group of 2 or more that walked in were seated right away. Food smelled great but had to walk out.

Cozy corner i want to love you. I really do because some things are really good. The one way I could describe this place is inconsistent. The ribs I had last night were to die for. But, I've gotten ribs here before and they have been dry as sand. My mac and cheese I got with my meal was amazing but my hush puppies were inedible. They were so hard and dry I could have broken your windows throwing them out into the gutter where they belonged to be. Fried chicken was to die for but the cornbread was more flour than corn meal and was really yellow cake. If no one has told me that was cornbread I would have wondered why my meal was served with a slice of cake on the side. It's almost like you have 2 cooks and one doesnt care at all and the other makes bomb food. It's clear somebody cares but someone else does not. Please, I love your food when it is good. Do better please.

I have eaten here many many times. The food has never disappointed. The decor and music give this place an awesome vibe. The fried chicken is always cooked to perfection and tastes amazing. The breading on the fish is perfect as well. The sides are always good too. Try the gumbo, it's worth the extra charge. The hush puppies and red beans and rice are a hit as well. Come here, eat some awesome southern comfort food. Your taste buds will thank me.

The "best fried chicken in Wisconsin"? Only if you like it to be cold by the time it reaches your table. And it would be great if my plate of food wasn't balancing on the LAP of a guy in a wheelchair, even touching his SHOE. How is that even sanitary? To top it off, the gumbo is mushy and bland (nobody from Alabama has any business having gumbo on the menu anyway), and they even ran out of tea. Good thing this restaurant is in WI and not in the south, they'd get laughed out of business!

Drove from Green Bay for our 1 year anniversary. Ordered our food and sat and waited 50 minutes until my husband finally just asked to get it bagged up. We did not know parking was free on Sundays and we told the waitress we needed to go due to parking (paid for two hours). Yes it was our mistake we did not know about parking but we never go to Appleton. The waitress got semi irritated and told us parking was free and what not. Thats not the point...it was almost a hour until my husband said something and then they brought our food out not 10 seconds later? Wont be going back. I am from Alabama and was really excited to get some good southern food but I will not be going back.

The Cozzy Corner is a gem. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was the wonderful blues music in the background. And the decor is entertaining. We arrived a few minutes after five on a Saturday. The place was mostly empty, but in short order, tables started filling up. The person waiting on our table was very nice, got our drinks and gave us time to go through the menu. After taking our orders, the food came promptly. And the food was wonderful. The menu had several combination plates if you'd like to try a few things. Sides were all well prepared including fried okra, greens, spicy fries, and red beans & rice. Entres were all delicious. Our table ordered gumbo, sausage, a couple types of chicken, gumbo, and a a pulled pork with Mac 'n cheese sandwich. And prices were very reasonable. The four of us spent under $60 total (not including tip). Can't wait to get back to the Appleton area to go again.

Food was pretty good, door greeter was super friendly but our waitress was all over the place and didn’t talk in a professional manner. Examples are complaining about how busy it was and how she wasn’t tipped well before us... That’s not exactly what I wanna hear... Because of the complaining and lack of attention to our table she received the minimum I tip. I am sure the table to follow us will hear all about it. Probably won’t be coming back.

Two minor complaints regarding the food. The smoked sausage you get on the big plates is of a poor quality. It is far too greasy, and has a bad aftertaste. Second, the waffles are fairly soggy. If they were a little more crisp it would be so much better. Other than that, the food is good, and they have a nice beer selection.

Excellent food and service. Excellent server in Marcia. Owner stopped by and spoke with us for a good 15 minutes. Enjoyed the ambiance. Jazz/Soul music. Catfish, ribs, chicken, cornbread, banana pudding and baked beans...all perfect. Was so full on a $15 dollar dinner that I almost fell asleep during The Lion King. We'll be back to be sure - nothing close to this in Oshkosh. Contrary to other posts here, there wasn't a crazy wait for our order. All 3 meals served timely and hot. The barbecue sauce...really, really good.

This place is very cozy, and the lights are very dim, so the atmosphere is super cool! The wait staff are all very helpful and friendly. However, my unsweetened iced tea tasted a little old, and the service does take quite a long time. But the food makes that wait worth it! The friend chicken is incredibly juicy and flavorful, and the waffles? I would die for them! Crispy, sweet, and ever so flavorful! Their hush puppies are perfection as well! I've been here twice and I'm eager to return!

We went there tonight before seeing the Lion King at the PAC which is right across the street. We arrived at 5:50 and ordered by 6. Our food finally came at 7:05 which gave us about 5 minutes to eat before we had to pack it up and take it to our car to get to the musical. This was after asking if our food was almost ready and explaining that we had tickets for the show 20 minutes earlier. The food was also not very good. The fries were mushing and the side of green beans was canned. It should not take an hour to get your food. I would not go back nor recommend it.

The food here is delicious. Southern comfort food made with heart and soul. The staff are welcoming and gracious, making you feel at home. The decor may be a tad dated, and the dining room could use some TLC (AKA remodeling and/or repair), but The Cozy is a solid description.

The food was great!! Not much of choice of different foods but still a verity of thos same foods(different ways to eat them) the waitress was amazing and when we were in a hurry she took it apon her self to cook our food her self so very accommodating. Really my only complaint is that theres NOT a lot of space and it was REALLY hot in the restaurant. They were also out of certain drinks (which are kind of popular drinks) but apologized very quickly for it. All in all i rate this 4 stars. Friendly, kind people who went above in beyond what they job calls them ti do to make sure the customer is happy. Just really really hot and crowed place!

OMG-- you're gonna have to roll me home! I'm in town, up from Milwaukee, and was so surprised to find such an excellent southern food restaurant in Appleton. I ordered the Jess Plate and have zero regrets. The pulled pork on top of the sausage (which was delicious and huuuuge) was tender and flavorful. The cornbread was sweet and tasty, and OMG-- the fried okra!

The Cozzy Platter: Cajun Fries, Fried Chicken, Fried Okra, Fish and some "Fall of the Bone" Ribs. I cannot make any of these items any better at home. And I never will have to because I have the Cozzy just down the street from me. The place did not have the cleanest feel about it so I had to go with 4 stars. Put down your forks and bring on the napkins because the food is 5 STARS.

I dont usually leave a 2/5 star review for restaurants however this is the second worst service I've ever experienced. The waitress that "helped" us took our order about 5 minutes after we sat down and brought our drinks shortly after that. It wasnt until about 30 minutes later when after the kind couple next to us pointed us out to the waitress that she got us new drinks. She seemed to be purposely ignoring us the whole night. After our food came roughly 45 minutes after ordering, the pork was lukewarm. The fried chicken was pretty decent. However based on the overall food quality, terrible service and long wait, I'll have to leave a 2 star review. Most likely will never be back.

THE BEST Fried Chicken! I'm from Georgia and this is some of the BEST southern cuisine I've ever had! The fried chicken is perfectly seasoned and the Mac and cheese is everything you've dreamed it would be! My husband loved the Gumbo and cornbread too! The service is awesome and they even gave me a treat bag for Mothers Day! Keep some room for dessert because you know you have to try the banana pudding and peach cobbler!!

I really wanted to like this place and had so many great recommendations. Our waffle was bad, like couldn't eat it bad. I think they messed up the recipe. We only took one bite and complained to the waitress who blew us off. No new waffle, no discount, nothing. Really sad. All other food was great and I loved the atmosphere. Perhaps service should be better?

I really wanted to taste their ribs.. when we got there my husband and i ordered the ribs with excitement to taste them.. after waiting for 25 minutes, my waitress finally came out and said our food was going to be out in a minute.. soon after another waitress came out and told us they had just run out of ribs.. even though the other waitress told us they were going to be out soon.. she then said “she was intimidated by you...” and soon after said she doesn’t care and walked away.. really disappointed with the customer service.. if your seeking for a friendly place to eat... highly don’t recommend..

Cozzy Corner catered our wedding and we absolutely LOVED it! Every guest was so happy to have non-traditional "wedding food". We had pulled pork, ribs, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, mac and cheese, corn on the cob, baked beans, rolls, and lots of barbecue sauces. Nobody went hungry! Everything from figuring out the details to clean up went great. Natasha and the whole Cozzy Corner staff helped make our day great by providing amazing food and service. Pricing was within our budget and we were so happy to support a local business that we love eating at.

I frequently patronize this restaurant weekly and most often the food is good . But today the food was awful I ordered red beans and rice . I received a bowl of rice and a teaspoon of beans no juice or gravy. I ordered greens so salty and full of stems I could not eat them . I ordered mac and cheese I received a few noddles and massive amounts of liquid cheese. I also ordered corn bread it was totally horrible flat and dry and nasty.

Great Food, Great Atmosphere and it's like you walked into a place in downtown Chicago or some big town. Not your average cookie cutter restaurant and the kids love the kids meal options with Chocolate Chip Waffles and other great choices. We go there often and are glad they are in the area.

I had long wanted to try this place because of all the wonderful looking food on Facebook. However my expectations were far exceeded. I went as a party of 7 and only had to wait about 10 minutes on a busy Saturday night. The staff was exceptional and the food was outstanding. My two year old who never eats meat enjoyed himself some fried chicken. Thank you so much for the fantastic experience, we can't wait to come back!

I may have been born and raised in Wisconsin, but my dad, a Memphis kid through and through, says it tastes like home. The problem isn't finding something on the menu you'll love, it's narrowing your choices down to one meal's worth of delicious food. Chicken - must try, ribs - just give me a whole platter already, candied yams - yes please, catfish - I don't eat fish but I hear it's amazing, rice and beans - reqlly hits the spot, chicken and waffles - I might need to just live here. I could keep going but I need to dig into my dinner. Look, I am so amazingly proud of the (well deserved) recognition Ms. Banks and her restaurant have garnered. I have been wanting to come here since they forst opened! Finally got to go with the family and non one of us were disappointed! The food was AMAZING! The atmosphere was great! I don’t know what drugs the waitress was on but I waited about 40 minutes to get a pulled pork sandwich, and didn’t even get it. Instead she came up to my table and said how was the food sir and gave me the bill...I looked at her and thought she was she serious!? Thanks for wasting my time. This was in the background of what suppose was the owner giving an interview so I hope they see it on video

Appleton has so many restaurants that my wife and I are trying to pick a different eatery each time we go out, so we’ve been to quite a few. We found our new favorite!! Everything we ordered was excellent (gotta try the chicken and waffles) in flavor and portion. Prices are very reasonable. The best part is the friendly service and excellent conversations. Make sure you try this place!

I've heard of the Cozzy Corner from so many people. But never went before. And I am so glad I did. It was amazing! The staff was amazing. Very helpful with recommendations and suggestions. Always there to get a refill or see how you were doing. The food was out of this world! It was amazing . I will definitely be returning to try some other things on the menu.

My friends and I had heard wonderful things about this establishment and we were very excited to try it out. We walked in on Sunday night at around 6:45, a full hour an fifteen minutes before closing. We were greeted with a lively atmosphere and great music. Our server sat us at our table and gave us menus to peruse. We had our drinks taken and served right away, and to the restaurant's defense, the kook-aid and sweet tea were both very good. Our server came back to take our orders and had made come comments about hoping no more tables came in so she could go home after a long work week, which is understandable but still unwelcoming. I asked her for a recommendation on what to eat and she suggested red velvet waffles with fried chicken, so I ordered that with a side of mac and cheese and gumbo. My friend Jordan ordered a 2 meat plate with ribs and friend chicken with sides of gumbo, lemon pepper fries, and hush puppies. My other friend Lauren ordered a sweet potato waffle with a side of coleslaw. 30 minutes pass and we're informed that we're waiting for the chicken to be done. 45 minutes pass and Jordan was informed that they don't have ribs, and that he's now expected to order something else. An hour passes and we finally receive our food. The gumbo was edible, the mac and cheese was also fair. The waffle was overcooked, flavorless, and there was almost no way to tell that they were "Red Velvet". The chicken on the inside was also overcooked, and dry. Lauren had a similar issue with her waffles being overcooked and hers were actually hard and breakable instead of soft and fluffy. Jordan, being immeasurably disappointed about the ribs, as he was looking most forward to those, but I digress. He received his food with rice and beans instead of gumbo (which they did rectify immediately, to their credit). The hush puppies were fair. The fries were unevenly seasoned, and at least his chicken was juicy and fair. As for the pulled pork, it was bland but the BBQ sauce was fantastic. We were all highly upset, and rushed to leave before close. Very disappointed and probably will not return.

Ok, so I have to take a deep breath before I tell you all how amazing this place is. The atmosphere, the waiters/waitresses are phenomenal and the food is beyond delicious. I have ordered almost everything on the menu and have always left satisfied. The fried chicken is juicy and tender, the ribs are perfectly cooked, and any one of their sides are delectable. This restaurant is perfection from the decor to the music they play. Prices are reasonable and the only complaint I have is that the parking near the space sucks. Can I post a picture here?

Chicken and fish is good. Music was very much good..filled with memories & history. Parking on the other hand bring coins if able to park close if not you will either be in a structure or parking far and walking. If you are a fan of nostalgia and creativity records/covers, pictures, and painting then you will enjoy this place. I wanted to it a half a star more. I had issues with the seasoning of my vegetables and was in a cold corner other then that all was fine.

It was my third time there, and it is always an excellent quality meal.......your wait time may be a little, but it is well worth the wait. And if you get fortunate to go when they have the homage Carmel cake, you have to try it!

I have not eaten here since I've gone vegan, but this is a great place for southern food. The people are always super friendly, the service is decent, and the soul, rock, and jazz tunes are really cool, with the vinyl record aesthetic. The food is also really good and not as greasy as one would expect. The gumbo is really good, the fries are awesome (lemon pepper is the best IMO) and the fried chicken is great, but the star of the show is the catfish. The breading is great, and the catfish is always delicious, especially with hot sauce. The prices are good too; you get a lot of food, so come here if you're hungry.
