Posted wedding, Sunday brunch on the deck. Staff was friendly and service was good especially for a party of 17 people at 3 Separate Tables. Storm moves in and across the lake, Staff quickly prepared and moved our party inside. Food was delicious Just what the wedding party needed after Saturday's celebrations.

Loved it, Steak sandwich was big, tender & juicy, I couldn’t stop eating the pizza even after I was full. Same with the deep fried cheese curds , the view was excellent and the band was good. You won’t be disappointed!! Happy landings ! JPH

Waited over an hour for our food. Very poor service. Schnitzel sandwich had fishy taste, must have dropped it in the wrong fryer. Overpriced for poor quality food. Will not return.

Waiting a while to be greeted.... then for a table and host couldn’t count... lol... 4 of us standing together and two different hosts said “two?”. Server was great for lunch! Sat outside... very noisy, but inside music was too loud. Came back for brunch next day. Sign said open, doors locked, she came and let us in. First ones there. Food was good! Our servers were good!

We had bad service, so-so food. And everything took forever to come out to us. We came for the outdoor seating but they said the wait was 30 minutes. Before our food came, there was a ton of open tables outside but they never offered it. It's a nice looking spot ....we just were not impressed.

We were heading into Lake Geneva and it seemed like a very nice place to eat with a spectacular view. When we walk in it seems very nice. We though wrong. It took about 15 minuets for drinks and our food took 1 hour and 15 min. We expressed our concerns to the staff but they could care less. They were not apologetic at all. They said they “pushed up our order” and it would be about only 3 minutes. It was about another 20. We understand that the waiters can’t help this issue but they seemed liked they did not care at all. One of the managers only made excuses that it was packed and it was running slow. I will tell you that it was NOT packed. I’m usually not one to say negative things online but this needs to be addressed. I sugggest if you are looking somewhere to eat and you pass by this place keep driving and never look back.

We were seated promptly. Our order was taken . However, we waited over 45 minutes, and still no food. We ordered two burgers and fries! They were not extraordinarily busy. There were several waitresses. Perhaps the kitchen is understaffed? Or incompetent?? Water was served at room temperature w/o ice. Women's bathroom was not sanitary and required attention. The inside dining area was infested with flies. Makes you wonder about the kitchen?? When we arrived, we were not informed that there would be a wait. Yet, once I complained, I heard the host begin telling people that there was a wait, as they entered. I saw them walk out. We left also , and hungry. Terrible management. I told the waitress to find a better place to work.

This was the last stop before we had to go the next day, and had the most relaxing vibe being right on Lake Geneva. Food was good, good prices, and the views and atmosphere was absolutely excellent. Since this place is on the other side of the busy area, traffic is low so you get a lot of peace, quiet, and comfort here. Great place to relax in the summer sometime in the evening through sundown.

Great view. Service on a fall Sunday was ok, but a little overtaxed. Sent out fries instead of the potato salad, which was excellent once we got it. Made fresh every day. Good $5 draft options. Restrooms fairly clean. House burger was ok, but go for a chicken sandwich.

Very poor experience on the restaurant side and party planning. We wanted to host a birthday party there, and every time we would call we would get vague summaries on pricing/food options. I scheduled a time to meet with the planning guy, and he never showed. Second time around it was very bland and told me he would get back to final price over the weekend. This was the week before the party. I never got a call over the weekend so I presumed I needed to get another place right away, only to get a call from him 2 days before the party. Obviously I didnt host the party there. Weeks later I decide to give the restaurant a chance. We waited 15 minutes just to get greeted and another 10 minutes to get our drinks. Food took forever to come out on a slow day and apparently marinara sauce is extra $$ even when ordered with calamari. Waitress was no where to be seen the whole time and we were lucky to find her here and there. Never again!

If I could leave a zero star I would have ! The outside looked nice so we decoded to stop for lunch around 1pm.. We waited 15 minutes before even getting the chance to order drinks. The service was dry poorly organized. We asked multiple times where our order were, as we could see tables around us coming after us and getting their food before us.. And after 45 minutes waiting we were late on our schedule and add to leave.. we told our waitress and the manager laughed at us while charging us the 2 drinks we had. I would highly not recommend this place !

I took myself and some employees out for lunch. They had a great menu and an amazing view! The food was pretty good although my burger was slightly overcooked I could live with it. I definitely would recommend stopping in sometime to check this place out. I've drove by a thousand times next time I'll stop again.

We were in a group of 12 WITH reservation's. Service was slow and orders were incorrect. They charged for EVERYTHING!! A tiny 1oz. of salad dressing, $.50! 1 oz. of spaghetti sauce because the chicken parm was on top of the pasta. Sauce dribbled on the chicken, none on the pasta. . .Extra Sauce $.50, should've been 3 oz for the plain pasta. Server was sarcastic, blamed everyone else. This place was on the higher cost because the water was across the street. None of us had a positive thing to say about this place! DO NOT ORDER ANY UPGRADE LIQUOR or the DOUBLE MARGARITA!! Explain a margarita costing $32!! Even if a double(she told us that all of the marg. ( double or not) are the same drink! $$ Then add upper shelf liquor, in her mind she rang up $10 drink-she added the $2 for a double(he NEVER said double) then ADDED $20 on top of this for the name brand!! Who does THAT, she's padding the bill! CHEAT!! Sept 20,2019

The prices are overboard and the staff is slow. We were talked to once while ordering and then given the check without asking. We were never asked how out food was or given refills on something as simple as water. The place was not busy before dinner time. Would not recommend.

Great place to stop for a boat and meal. Try the Bavarian pretzel or cheese curds for apps. The beet salad or the burgers Are great too. Saw live music in the afternoon into the evening.

It was one mistake after another. The food was actually ok...once we finally got what we actually ordered. Had to ask multiple times for water and ketchup was apparently at a premium...where's the ketchup?? We got charged for things we didn't get. Wait staff did not know what they had on the menu and what supplies they had. A plastic cup was a mystery. Couldn't get the bill paid...waitress was MIA. We spoke to the manager and it never got any better. One of us has a gluten allergy and they brought a fully loaded gluten pizza. It was bad from water to check. Additionally, there are latches on the bathroom doors that would hold livestock back but then they cant install hooks in the stall?!?! Go to pee and leave. Side note: the guys down at the dock are on it. They know what they are doing and were exceptional. Thank you!

We were a group of 12 (with reservations). The foodserver was AWFUL! ALMOST everyone's dinner had some kind of problem. Some minor, some MAJOR! Such as cold raw potato pancakes, wrong fish and not cooked the right way. (fried or baked), there was the ckn parm with NO SAUCE on the pasta. ( Extra spagh. sauce-extra $.50-tiny 2oz portion),(2 oz. salad dressing, also $.50)! The BIGGIE one is the cocktail my nephew ordered. A margarita (no mention of single or double), $10 or $12-BUT he asked about top shelf liquor for it. She said a brand(I'm not familiar with it) AND at the end, the check, it turned out to be $32!!!!! She qualified it as a double PLUS (supposedly) the top shelf... SHE WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX ANY of any checks! BTW, my double barely had any liquor, his tasted the same! It was a disaster! 2of us were locals and no one had anything good to say about this place. She and her helper FAILED this night! 9/20 @ 6:20 pm. Never again!!

Don’t normally write reviews, but this experience was so bad I feel I need to warn people before coming. Be prepared to wait over an hour for a club sandwich, have your table not served at the same time, be given no explanation as to why the wait is so long (restaurant was 1/2 full but was told that they were unusually busy). Lots of patrons were complaining. We told our waitress to quit and find a better place to work; she commented that she had heard that several times. One last comment, food was average. Get a new manager.

We reserved seating almost a month prior to our date. I understand that they were busy, however, we waited for almost an hour to get our food. When it came out, we all got our food at different times. My food was undercooked and not really what I ordered. My pesto Alfredo had NO pesto. Maybe this place would be better at an earlier time. Also, your younger waitstaff should look like they hate their jobs a little less.

Terrible overcooked and way overpriced. We paid and left didnt eat. Was nice to see my brother after 8 years but to take him out here was terrible. Flies are really bad and if you order a rare steak it comes out well done with char and no flavor. Owner was on site and had no care to make the experience better. Waitress and bartender were awesome but food terrible. I will never come here again, not for $235.00 for 5 meals that were bad, overcooked junk. I want my money back because i sure cant get the experience back. Way better places to eat for way less not far away.

The food was good and the staff was great. My waiter Galvin was awesome. I had a piece of bacon caught in my throat. I wasn't choking per se, but I couldn't swallow it or cough it up. Galvin saw what was happening and reacted immediately. A couple of pats on my back and I was okay. I'm thankful he was there.

My experience was awful! My sister and I came to meet her so we could celebrate my birthday. We both drove over an hour to this spot on hopes to have a good meal and some drinks. Well when we get there they wouldn't seat us saying there were no tables available, when good in well there were 3 inside and 1 outside. I will never refer anyone to this establishment ever due to their inconsideration and my hour I drove to them! Thanks for a horrible experience!

I'm was very happy to see this establishment open. My first visit was very good, my second visit not so much. 1) It was clear the hostess did not want to be there or provide service to customers. I asked to be seated outside where there were plenty of seats and she did not want to do so. 2) Once seated is was near impossible to get someone to wait on me. After several attempts I was able to get someone to assist and get a server. 3) Ordered appetizers and a meal. The appetizers were served with the meal. 4) Asked to speak with the manager. The owner/manager met with us and after I explained what happened, he said I'm sorry you are grumpy! I informed him I was not grumpy, I was dissatisfied with the service I received.....there is a difference. If this place is going to make it (and I had hopes it would), they will need to make adjustments and provide better customer service. Customer service would need to start from the top. If the owner/manager can get away with treating his customers in a negative manner, his staff will follow suit! On a positive note, the food was good.

Average food. The day we were there, there was some kind of issue as servers were telling everyone that food would take 45 minutes. It didn't take that long, but when we got appetizers, everything that was fried had a burnt taste to it. Huge pretzel was very good.

Although the view is spectacular, that is about the only good thing I can say. Our party of 6 went there last night to celebrate a friends birthday. The food was below average and over priced, but the reason I will not return is the service. Our waitress was extremely inattentive - got every drink wrong (beside the bottle of beer ordered), we waited 1 1/2 hours for our food to come and when it did come 4 out of the 5 were wrong and the 6'th dinner (the birthday girls) never came - apparently she forgot to place the order. It was a Rueben sandwich and our waitress said they would get that right away, but it took another 35 minutes for it to come. After being there for over 2 hours and such bad service we spoke with the owner Damian to express how bad our experience was but to our dismay he never apologized - just said "yeah it is that kind of night". In addition we watched another waitress who was bringing a burger to a customer, lift the bun, pick the cheese off and throw it in the deck and the owner get into a verbal fight with another disastified customer. Needless to say we will not go back!!!!!

Only gave a 1 because there is not a zero. Oversize pretzel tasted burned, spinach was luke warm, salmon was a very small portion and they could only describe as similar to grits tasted worse than awful. The house salad must have been left over from the day before since cucumbers were wilted. Will NOT return to what looked as a great place to dine and relax. Drinks way overpriced!!

I planned a group of family and friends to enjoy the Lake and Boat House Bar and grill. We all had an amazing time from the scenery to the cocktails, and the cheesecurds to the beat salad!!!! There was a live band that we ended our night with in the upstairs hall. It was by far the best day of my summer!!! Thanks Boat House!!!!

Don't get all the bad reviews. Maybe you just went on a busy day. Every time I've been here the service has been prompt. Dog friendly seating outside (we bring our yellow lab all the time) and there's usually live music as well! Probably the best cheese curds I've had in Wisconsin, also love the giant pretzel! Burgers are pretty good. As for drinks, I always go for the fresh squeezed IPA which they've always had on tap!

This establishment was absolutely amazing. We stopped in 2 weeks before a 35 person gathering, Damion was more than accommodating, he went above and beyond, even making sure the pier across the street was secured for a private champagne ceremony. The night of our event, the ceremony was amazing, a glass never empty. Food, service, staff and the owner deserve a 5plus. Great job and highly recommended!

The setting is spectacular. I have enjoyed drinks on the deck while listening to a solo guitar player with his electronic supporting cast. On Saturday, September 16, service was dismal. My buddy and I waited over twenty minutes to get a menu, about fifteen minutes more to put in a lunch order, and food never came. We were there about ninety minutes and finally got up and left. Something was wrong on that one day - I hope they fix it quickly. I will stop here again for a beer and the view.

So disappointed. We were sat and forgot about. The brisket was so over cooked that It felt like I was eating beef jerky. The apps was great and the view was amazing but everything else sucked. Smh I drove an extra 15 mins to come here and it was a let down. Now I am leaving, hungry and in search of food.

Had a long wait time to be offered drinks and took a long time to get our food. Waitress seldom came back to the table after we received our food. We came on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant did not seem overly busy inside or on the deck seating. The food was alright so maybe there were variables beyond the staff's control. Might be worth a shot if going to the Lake Geneva area in the future.

Only stopped for an appetizer and a drink get the pretzel it was HUGE!!!!! It's at least five or six states fair size pretzels in one HUGE pretzel! Bonus it was not covered in a layer of salt. Worth the price absolutely.

My husband and I visited here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. They have a nice beer selection from which we chose an ale and a porter, which were both good. For our meals we selected the grilled cheese (pictured) and Italian beef with sides of oil and vinegar coleslaw, which was a little heavy on celery seeds but good. Our server, Galvin, was spectacular. He didn't hover and gave us plenty of time while being friendly and fun. My grilled cheese was awesome, the Italian beef a little dry but overall a good lunch. Beautiful view with a large patio overlooking the lake and lots of TV's inside. My only complaint is the flies that were numerous, so deducting a star.

The owner of this place threatens women. That's all that's really needed to be read here. For more context, here is a synopsis of our experience: SUPER slow service, meh food, no running water in the men's room, demeaning owner. When we complained to the man-bun wearing owner, he refused any ownership of our issues and even told us it was our fault....we had too many people. In fairness, we had a big party (15ish) but there were still empty tables when we walked in and far more when we left. We ordered burgers and pasta, then sat for over an hour and half waiting for food. When my wife complained (some of us had long drives on this Sunday night), he literally said it was our fault and was VERY insulting to her. When she asked why he was smirking at us after complaining about an absurdly long wait for pasta and burgers his answer was....wait for it..."I'm smiling because I'm holding back the fire inside from yelling at you." This is what he actually said to my wife when she asked what took so long for our food. Really? Who says that to a paying customer, let alone threatens a woman like that? Is this the type of place you'd like to patronize? Any competent manager knows that all a customer wants is to be heard. Say I'm sorry, offer a free drink or 2 and everyone goes home happy and likely will come back for another chance. Sorry man-bun dude, you're a real piece of work and judging from the other reviews here, you will be out of business soon.

Staff is very personable and accommodating! Been there with and without kids... they definitely understand the difference. When with my kids they noticed our little girl was ready to eat right away and brought her food before the rest. Love a staff that can read their patrons. Nice selection and great location! First time customer extremely unimpressed! - The flies were everywhere making it uncomfortable and unappetizing - The glasses were filthy had to request clean ones - Who charges you when you request no cheese on a burger? THE BOATHOUSE!!! - Had to request food to go couldn’t handle the flies! Food was ok nothing special.. Best part was our waitress she was very nice and kind!!!!

Good food. Bad service. Great view for Sunset. Recommend them more as a Bar than a Grill. We had 3 people for dinner, took 2+ hours to get food. Other tables left. Other people that arrived later were served first. Owner's comment "That's how you know it's good." Hopefully they pull it together, great potential.

The rye for the Rueben was perfectly crisp. Had to ask for a few things though. Napkins and side plates for the wings shared appetizer. And ketsup for the fries.

Food is great. Drinks are great. Some prices are way too steep for what you get... others are average/cheap (11 for a burger and fries but 12 bucks for 6 wings????) Aside from that its a winner.

My Family went to this place for the first time I had my hot tea and my husband and my son had a sandwich.They liked the food ordered and I liked my reuben sandwich too.The waiter was friendly and Good service.

Typical restaurant in a resort town. Slow service because of being understaffed and mediocre food. However wait staff was very friendly. Great location with lake views and live entertainment on the deck.

My wife and stopped here for lunch on a Monday and had a very enjoyable dining experience! The views of the lake are spectacular, and the service and the food were top notch. They have the option of having your salad put into wraps, and my wife and I each enjoyed a delicious Thai chicken and shrimp wrap. The Boat House is locate in a quiet and relaxing location on the lake and has unobstructed views of beautiful Lake Geneva. We live local and highly recommend The Boat House and will definitely be back again!

Been going to this same location for more than 10 years. Walk there typically it's just down the hill from the summer home. It turns over with a new name frequently, as in every few years. Let's face it you can't make money in the winter in Lake Geneva so you push the limits during tourist season. Just left there on a summer day in July. I get it but $9 IPA drafts seems to be a bit excessive. Considering a 6-pack runs $13.99 in Chicago I'm going to venture that $6-$7 would be reasonable but $9 Is extorsion. Quite disappointed.

Beautiful setting with outdoor seating overlooking the lake. Delicious food and good service! Unfortunately there were a couple of smokers nearby and that was off-putting. Overall good experience and I'd love to go back again.

We stopped here on a Sunday evening for a dinner with my fiancee's mom. Their food was excellent! I had the brisket which was cooked quite well. The most stunning part is that the patio faces West so as the sun sets over Lake Geneva, you really do get a front row seat to some of nature's beauty. Highly recommend this place.

We would go to the Boathouse frequently. Have brought family members there on a few occasions. My husband and I would go once in awhile in the winter, quite often in summer to sit on the deck and have a few drinks and lunch or dinner. We were interested in having a graduation party for my daughter here. It was scheduled for 6/22 (last weekend). I had emailed Damien to inquire about it and he called me back. We went in and set the date and menu.(this was 1/2019) I asked him if he would like a deposit...he said “sure, I’ll take $200”. NP gave him $200 cash and a handshake. This was this past January. In March my daughter decided she didn’t want a party...ok. I emailed Damien in March to let him know we were going to have to cancel. (This is 3 months BEFORE) the party. In my email I stated I didn’t know if the deposit was refundable...that we would be happy even with a gift card to the restaurant since we go there often. No response. About 5 weeks later I email him again. No response. About 2-3 weeks later...I email him again. Nothing. So, I call and leave a message on his VM. Nothing. (These are the same emails and phone I used to contact him originally). He apparently just chose NOT to respond. I can’t think of why he hasn’t responded to me.hmm. Oh well. I’m $200 poorer...he’s $200 richer....and he has lost us as customers. We would easily spend that $200 on 2 visits. Too bad. Bad business.

Stopped in there after golf with a group of 14. We were all very pleased with a waitress and the food. I'm a local and I was pleasantly shocked at the quality of the food and service. Early October is usually a rough time for some restaurants around the lake because they lose a lot of staff. We started with cheese curds and they were amazing best I've ever had. So good. I had the perch fish fry and it was excellent. Looking forward to heading there again soon.

Okay the food was nothing to brag about, I have had worce but the cheese curds were good. The food took about a hour, we only had burgers there was only one other table when we came in and we made reservations, it was graduation. 4 adult and 5 kids so kiddy meals should not take that long and I never got my soup

I would not recommend this place!! Drove 45 minutes to eat and it's not what we expected at all. Menu is terrible and place sucks. Save your gas!

Terrible food and service was even worse. 1st time. Will not return. Server/Bartender never asked how anything was and when we had a full plate still in front of us we asked for our check. Still never asked if everything was ok. Gave us our check cleared the plate that had only 2 bites taken out of it and still never asked if everything was ok. We paid the bill and left I will not recommend this place to anyone.
