We have been going here for many years whenever in the area. I hate to say it ,but I think it has run its course. Old outdated, needs a major cleanup and refreshing/paint. The bathrooms are unpleasant. The buffet seldom has anything different. Now they put the Naan on the buffet instead of serving tableside. I will try elsewhere next time I want Indian.

I enjoyed the prompt service. The quite dinner service and the big screen tv to watch alone. I need some quite peaceful time and this place gave me great food, prompt service and friendly conversation. I will be back. Decor needs to be updated, but I will take that over verses overcrowded and over priced! Thanks

Here's the menu to try: Samosa (spicy and stuffed), Lamb Biryani (yum as hell), Aloo & kheer. Small venue, parking sometimes difficult, friendly staff. If you like to make your palette work, this is the place to go for Indian food. I gave it a 4 because they could not accommodate 6 person seating without breaking the group up.

Was the best Indian food I have ever had! Even though we came in at 9, they were kind and served us well. Try the mango lassi (like a mango smoothie), it's delicious! The chicken masala and chicken pakora are both amazing, also! And I loved the naan... It was freshly baked and was delectable. ❤️ You won't be disappointed if you eat dinner here!

Worst “Indian” restaurant I’ve ever been to. Some of the food isn’t even Indian. They even had barbecue chicken wings for the lunch buffet and that didn’t even taste good. Went here primarily because the restaurant is called “Tandoor” and was expecting some delicious tandoori specialties. Instead tasted some of the worst food I’ve ever had in my life. Want some really excellent Indian food? Try India Garden (best lunch buffet with delicious tandoori chicken) or Bollywood Grill.

Great food and great service. I've only ever had the lunch buffet but thats all I need! The food is phenomenal and the price is so reasonable. Theres always a great variety of items of excellent quality. Since theyve remodeled the atmosphere is also incredibly comfortable. One of the best things is that the Naan (bread) is a available on the buffet, whereas other places require you to order it separately.

The food here is just so good. Amazing flavors and always just the right amount of heat. The woman who usually takes my order is very friendly and always makes great recommendations. The butter chicken (it has a different name on the menu, just ask) is divine! Also the gobi manchurian is cauliflower at its best. The lunch buffet is worth every penny too.

Tandoori is a bright spot for Indan food. I tried several dishes and everything was very good. My knowledge of Indian food is sadly limited so we just figuratively threw darts at the menu and hit three bullseyes with Lamb Curry, Mushroom Paneer, and Chili Chicken appetizer. Service was good, the server could have been a little warmer. I like it enough that I will definitely go back within a month.

Always tender meat and delicious sauces. Lamb Bharta is my go-to, but I haven't had any regrets at all picking other options. Hands down the best rice I've had anywhere, and the garlic naan is always added to the order without exception.

I''ve been going to Tandoor intermittently for the past two years... The food is all kinds of flavorful goodness at a more than fair cost... My bride prefers the lunch buffet, but she enjoys my eager delight for dinner as well. The ambiance is reminiscent of a stark chain hotel, and the service is impersonal, yet timely and accomodating. I have subconsiously chosen it as my birthday destination, as I will likely spend my third one there soon. it's the only Indian restaraunt around according to my exhaustive curiosity.

We've been to Indian restaurants all across the country. This one is not in a very showy location. The storefront does not look glamorous. But actually the food there was very good. We particularly liked the chicken curry, and the yogurt. The seating and Decor is Pleasant. The staff person was friendly and attentive. As usual, we came for the buffet lunch. I think that everything we tried was quite tasty, with the spices being just about at the right level. They must have an accomplished cook. And the price was great. If you have not tried Indian food, this would be a good place to start.

Tandoor has always had an amazing lunch buffet with lots of diverse dishes at a low price. I'll also suggest visiting for dinner, when they tune the spice to your preference. They have understated decor, but very attentive service. There is parking in a small lot behind the restaurant.

The food here is not made on the same day. I'm not sure about Al-a-carte, but afternoon buffet is the worst. I don't much care about the taste(which is not good either). To my American friends please stay away. for people who already experienced and disappointed, this is not the real Indian food. Looks like they make the food for whole week on the same day. If you are lucky to be there on that day you may taste some real food. Satay away.

Best chicken tikka masala in Milwaukee and I've had em' all. The buffet is great and the staff though subdued, are welcoming and consistent. All of the food is worthwhile and we've never had anything we didn't like. So Tandoor has been around for awhile which tells us they have a following and their food is good. I just wonder why they haven't put any money into the presentation of their restaurant. Everything inside looks 2nd hand, bland and weathered. Even the one Indian tapestry hung on the west wall is hung crookedly. The buffet is so yummy but again presentation is kind of sloppy. One can't even really make out the hand written labels telling us what we're looking at. I've only used the bathroom a few times in all the years I've been there but it's pretty sorry looking too. Things could be clean but it doesn't look or feel like it because everything is so shabby. If the owners are seeing this I encourage you to put some more effort and even a little bit of money into it so everyone can see the aesthetic match the quality of the food! We love Tandoor!

Yea.....something tells me that most (not saying all) of the really bad reviews -with the horrible grammar- are from other Indian restaurants -or something to that nature. The food was delicious. I recommend you try everything to see what you like, unless you are extremely familiar with Indian cuisine. If you don't like something, try something else. Sometimes I think people forget we all have different tastes; it doesn't mean there is anything "wrong" with the food. Not gonna lie, one lady in particular wasn't exactly all smiles. But when I heard other diners ask her for various things, she was 100% accommodating and polite. Probably just her dry (not mean) personality. Everyone else, however, WAS all smiles:) Overall great service. I recommend Tandoor to any reasonable person ;)

The staff is great. Food is the best Indian I’ve had ever, and I’ve tried them all out here. Intimate dining. If you like coconut, try the soup! And the ginger naan is my absolute favorite. Hot level spicy is just enough to get the nose going but not burn the face off. And the flavor... if I could eat here every day I would! And their lunch buffet is phenomenal.

It's a Mom and Pop Indian restaurant, and they absolutely deliver. I've been here maybe four times now and its a favorite of everyone at work. I don't think I've ever had such a great time trying a new restaurant. Even though it was a Friday night, the place was practically empty, which meant our food came out of the kitchen quickly and was piping hot. Also, DELICIOUS. I had never had authentic Indian food before and Tandoor's mango chicken and shrimp was the best dish I've tasted in YEARS. Service was quick and polite as well! I will definitely be back!

The advertising says "fine dining at it's best." They forgot one word, it should be simply, "fine dining not at it's best." Maybe their internal mantra is to overpromise and underdeliver. They succeed at it. The name Tandoor conjures up images of succulent skewered meats and puffy breads freshly brought to the table from high temperature roasting in clay ovens with mouth watering accouterments. I was disappointed. At a recent lunch buffet, other than Punjabi chole, every dish was mediocre at it's best with unbalanced flavors, seasonings and cooking process (basically overcooked). Freshness was nowhere to be experienced except, maybe in the salad and the sliced onions. They even got the ubiquitous chicken tikka masala to taste plain. Now, that takes hard work. Their efforts at Indian-Chinese fusion called Manchurian, rendered them neither Chinese, nor Indian, a half baked experiment. The goat curry tasted stale, the samosas were doughy with a filling of tasteless mashed potatoes and peas. Karhi fared slightly better with adequate tasting sauce but flat tasting dumplings within. White table cloths and fabric napkins impart a resemblance of class but the rather lackluster dishes in humble surroundings provide an experience that should not be repeated.

Really good food but the entrance to the restaurant includes a sloping sidewalk without notice--my grandmother broke her hip after falling on the abrupt slope, and even knowing that, I sprained my ankle on the same spot. I can't recommend this restaurant until they put in some type of railing to prevent the slope from tripping people.
