We went for Easter brunch. They were VERY busy and only had 1 bartender when they should have had about 3. We had reservations, and when the hostess tried to seat us, she was told by 2 other employees to move us TWICE! When we finally got up to the buffet, more than half of the food trays on it were empty! It took them forever to bring out more food, and they never did bring out more ham at all! To be fair, the food that we DID get to eat was good, but for the buffet choices we actually had, it was DEFINITELY NOT worth the price we paid! Most of the staff was trying to do their best, under the circumstances, but the bartender, hostess and waitress showed their frustration, and at least 2 of them actually made comments as to how frustrated they were. Management obviously has a lot to learn about how to treat their customers and employees well! Not impressed.

I try to avoid leaving negative reviews. However, in this particular instance it is unavoidable. I was looking forward to a meal at one of Wisconsin's celebrated dinner clubs. However; the dining experience we had at Swartzendruber was prerhaps the single worst dining experience I have ever had. I was meeting friends in Whitelake, Wi. They arrived at the Restaurant at 6:45. As I was driving from Illinois and was way behind schedule I had expected that they would have completed their meal long before my arrival. To my surprise when I arrived at the restaurant at 8 P.M. the group was still waiting for their order. Whilst waiting for their order I was informed that many members of our party were experiencing trouble ordering drinks. When the waitress returned for my order I attempted to order the prime rib just to be told they were out. They were also of Merlot. Quite disappointing for a dinner club. I ordered the New York strip. When that arrived it was the poorest excuse for a steak that I have ever seen. Many of the orders for our group were wrong or not cooked properly. One of our group got a plain hamburger on a burnt bun no trimmings included. My recommendation for this establishment is to avoid it.

Quaint bar and restaurant very friendly and family run. Extremely reasonable prices on food and drinks including specialty burgers, steaks, pork dishes, pasta and seafood. A nice salad and soup bar started our meal. My tenderloin filet was cooked to order and was extremely flavorful and accompanied by quite large grilled shrimp. Parking is ample

Went on a Saturday evening and were seated right away. Nice decor, typical northwoods supper club, in a good way. Hostess was excellent as was our waitress. Food was very good, fresh, well seasoned, just right portions and plated nicely. Dinner came with soup (really good, home-made from scratch) and salad bar (basic, but fresh and we'll stocked). Prices are reasonable and we will be back again!

Food was amazing service was terrible. We waited over 2 hours for our dinner. Many other were compalaining around us and some even got up and left because it was taking so long. They definitely were not prepared for the dinner for valentine's day.

Was there on a Thursday night, which featured the German buffet. The schnitzel was not very authentic, looked like it was put thru a french frier. But the sauerbraten was pretty good, as we're the spotzen dumplings. The service was good and the prices were very fair.

Our food was good,our server was a bit pushy in trying to get us to leave,we were not done with our meal but most of all a bus person there named gerritt knew one of my kids and he gave us a fowl gesture on Easter Sunday ,the middle finger. He thought he was being discreet by rubbing his eye with his middle finger. For me it ruined my dining experience. We will NOT return, good help I guess is hard to find.

It took forever to place our order once we got our menus! The hostess wasnt very friendly, and the whole place is dark, dingy and outdated. And watching workers eat out of the salad bar with there fingers while refilling it was awful.

This place has promise needs a major upgrade and it use to be great but in the last 2 years food quality has really dramatically dropped. Always seems to have new staff also which probably relates to management or owner.

Nice atmosphere, food tasted good, price was fair. Not so good - I ordered a ribeye and it had good flavor however; about 1/2 of it was fat. Very fatty steak. Overall, not bad. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back though. Oh Yeah - The waitress was unpleasant. Very snooty, must not have expected a 20% tip that I normally leave. If you're reading this staff - Please tell your wait staff to treat others' with respect. After all, if it wasn't for your customers', you wouldn't exist.

Very sad! We took our kids because they like Prime Rib. They were out of Prime Rib, waffles tasted like hotel waffles dry and crunchy, dessert table was 3/4 gone, because they were out of everything! Bloody Mary's were good but over priced all that was in them was a pickle and 2 olives. Never received the champagne that is suppose to come with the buffet It's an old time supper club but needs a little updating. Bathrooms need major updating so all are in working order as well. After all this our party of 8 was still charged full price. Nothing was done to compensate for the lack of food.

DO NOT EAT HERE! Worst dinning experience I've ever had. Took 2 hours to get our food. Yes we had a large group but this is still unexeceptable. Most people's orders were wrong. The food was terrible. Many people didn't even eat. After complaining about this the waitress argued with us! To top off this disaster we had to pay for our meal. The only thing good about this place are the bartenders. If you insist on going here just stay in the bar.
