This Restaurant is classified in the category of Polish restaurant.
Great food. I had the duck special. Mom had the buffet. Orange sauce was house made. Service was attentive. Good music. Chicken dance, roll out the barrel: other standards. I kinda felt like I was at a rural wedding.
I felt like I was sitting in my grandma's kitchen, enjoying comfort Polish food. You can NEVER go wrong with authentic Polish food. We had the buffet, but next time we go, we're going to try the smorgasbord of pierogies and the herring platter. My favorite was the Hunter's Stew (tons of sauerkraut!), and my husband said he can't choose what his favorite was because he loved it all. Truly worth the stop.
Delicious food. Well developed flavor.
Wonderful: one-of-a-kind, longstanding neighborhood (and city) favorite for authentic Polish eats.
Love the czarina and cheese pierogies! Been coming here for years. Food and service excellent.
Had lunch here on Thanksgiving and it was very nice. Everything was delicious. I was especially impressed by the mushroom soup. I was not expecting mushroom soup to taste that good.
Love the all you can eat buffet on Saturdays and the live music and dance floor is an added bonus
Went with a large party of eleven. We were seated on a nice long set of tables. Server introduced herself. Took drink orders and 4 orders of deviled eggs apps. Deviled eggs were loved by our group! Server had to bring out all the drinks by herself and took a bit of time for our entire party. She had no extra help with drinks. She then took our dinner orders. She was very patient because we had questions and not everyone was familar with Polish food. I ordered pork shank and potato pancakes and dill Pickle soup. Others ordered different varieties perogies, Schnitzel, stuffed cabbage and polish sausage. My pork shank was tasty. The person who ordered the stuffed cabbage thought the meat mixture was bland. Everyone liked their perogies. The reuben ones were the favorite along with the potato. They were glad the server recommended to order perogies pan fried. Everyone who ordered the cucumber salad and mushroom soup enjoyed it. Server had help with bringing soups and entrees out we received dinners at about the same time. Pleasant experience by all. We may return on a night when there is entertainment which we understand is quite fun.
Love this place. I couldn't recommend it any higher.
Great Polish food in a fun atmosphere! The weekend brunch buffet keeps us coming back with delicious dishes like Hunter’s Stew and secret recipe potato pancakes.
This brought me back to my Busha's cooking from 24 years ago. Wonderful staff and authentic Polish cooking. Owners are Polish immigrants! A bit more pricey than we expected. Great atmosphere.
Friendly and prompt service. Delicious and hot dinner rolls.
Very good food. Friendly service.
Outstanding taste of Poland! Family friendly atmosphere with live music. We will be back!
This is a nice hidden gem of a place. It feels a little like a place you think of your grandmother wanting to take you but the food is stellar. On top of that the bar seems well stocked and drinks like the 'rusty nail polish" give you a a nice bit of alcohol for the price. Top choice is definitely the pierogies. I want to go back for more of them. The only real downer is the fact that the dinning room seemed uncomfortably loud during dinner. 4.5 stars, will be eating here again.
This place is as quaint as yer Gramma's taint. I've been going here since it used to be across from the Basilica. It's as Polish as it gets, and that means older patrons arguing and complaining loudly--but not about the food. All these oldies are in agreement about it being the only proper place for a funeral reception--but you don't have to die to treat your visiting friends to the howitzer of auld Milwaukee atmosphere that is the accordion-and-pierogi Sunday brunch.
To expensive for me .
Great choices of polish food and a great selection of polish beer and drinks too
Staff treated you like family, answered any questions and made suggestions from their menu. Food was excellent and clearly made with wholesome family recipes passed down. Would come again if ever in the Milwaukee area again!
Menu dressed up, but food is generic. Fries with polish sauce were cold, and waitstaff, while polite, were young and inexperienced. Several flies buzzing around the dining hall hovering food as well. Skip it.
One of the last Polish restaurants here. Funeral lunch. They're food is good.
Birthday celebrations are great here with the wonderful food and music!!
Great place! Need to come for the buffet!
Good service, wonderful family, and good food!
Friendly service , fast for being under staffed , great food .
The
Great Polish food. Prices are very reasonable.
Very warm service by pretty young ladies. Excellent polish food
Fantastic food, friendly staff, live music, will bring friends here!!!!
The service was outstanding, good variety of Polish foods and American cuisine too, all well prepared. Highly recommended!
Wonderful food, wonderful people. Have been several times. Love it.
Great authentic Polish/German restaurant. I've been here several times now with my family. Our fvorite dishes are the stuffed cabbage and the meatballs in mushroom sauce. And the potato pancakes! Saturday nights they have a buffet and music and dancing - a wonderful experience!
I went to the buffet on a Saturday the food was amazingly delicious. Also had the best server at the restaurant taking care of me and my compadres. I believe her name is Destiny very cheerful and service with smile can’t go wrong. The only thing I might suggest is that they get a little bit of a makeover in the dining areas. Feels like a dungeon setting that’s all but the food and definitely the service makes up for that 3000. So for great polish food and service this is the place to go.
First time there. Had the buffet and was very good!
I had the potato pancakes! Delicious!
Great food at a great price.
The food and service was wonderful! You have to try their Deviled Eggs for sure!!!!!
I visited the Plonez a few months ago when in Milwaukee on a business trip. I was so taken by the experience, friendliness and food quality tha I took a picuter of the Czarnina, Kiebasa, Pierogi, Seagrams VO, Pilsner Beer and all that plus more is now part of my screen saver. So every day I am reminded of the Plolnez and looking forward to my next opportunity to visist. May you enjoy many healthy happy years of providing a most unique experience.
Great service, wonderful stuffed cabbage rolls, yummy potato pancakes and kilbasa. I will go again when we go back to Milwaukee.
This is the best meal I can ever remember having. The staff and service was outstanding. The accordion player was delightful and the owner was charming. Never expected to be wowed like this.
Very good food wonderful service highly recommended
It's a Polish restaurant. Good food, fair service. Feels homey. It's like a visit to an old country, with all the trimmings. We did enjoy the visit, however, would not recommend going there with kids. All the staff is like your grandma hovering there. We had 3 kids and only one truly liked it. I don't think service people liked kids there. Strict rules. Some grandma was saying NO touching this and that (dirty hands suspected I suppose) and she was right. I can't trust my kids hands either. However, we don't feel like this at other restaurants. Bottom line: we had a buffet and it was good and good variety (about 20 items) decently priced. Drinks are extra, but that is normal. Will come back, no rush though.
Great food and service love the live music
Authentic Milwaukee dining.
Yea so ive never been here.i drive by it to go to the mexican place across the street.so it may be good but also may be terrible.
Outstanding authentic polish dishes, the galumpki and perogies are delicious and a wonderful polish family atmosphere.
In December we ate at the Saturday buffet and the food was excellent as usual. However, the dinner plates in the buffet line were icy cold. By the time we got our food to the table it was cold. Your good Polish food deserves better treatment.
Great Polish food good service good prices, I would recommend it to everyone
Service excellent food fantastic
I love this place . It takes me back to flavors of my youth . I had the smoke house meat board today. George's liver pate was delicious.
Their food is absolutely delicious, it is a nice quiet atmosphere . You will not leave hungry!!
Great Ethnic restaurant if you want authentic Polish cuisine. Great beverages and the owner is so friendly! Regular restaurant, but also a large banquet room and a great bar area.
Stopped in for the Saturday night dance and dinner. Great authentic homestyle Polish food in their banquet hall with music.
I've been out to eat here I think 5 times (I don't even live in milwaukee) and i think I'm confident in saying this is my favorite restaurant of all time. Everyone who works here is kind, the ambiance is fantastic and welcoming with plenty of room and, of course, the food is delicious. I bring all my friends here at every chance I get. Do yourself a favor and order one of every pierogi and a big bowl of borscht.
Great pierogies, polish sausage, sorbet! Lots of food too. Make sure to try the Kopytka and Potato Pancakes.
Good service and great food, I'm not a huge polish food fan but everything was quite nice.
Delicious, everything was delicious!
Alexandra and entire Family always aim to please! Jeff Winard adds to the atmosphere with beautiful accordian music!
Always amazing food and great family atmosphere . Music Saturday nights
Fresh Food, Great Service and Friendly People. Polish Food Dishes are Outstanding. Love this place.
Love the Sunday Buffet as well as the regular menu. Especially the Dill pickle soup and Bigoes !
Wow... Authentic Polish food like my grandmother and mother made. It was fabulous!!!
Great Polish food.
One of the best restaurants in the Milwaukee area. Polish food but also german and American. Finally homemade food that tastes great. You gotta eat here try the beer and pierogi.
Great food, and great service
The venue was a tad dated, but overall the food and service was solid. I will definitely be coming back.
My Mother & I went to The Polonez Restaurant Tonight for our first Time. Usually we go to Kegel's Inn German Restaurant in West Allis, but we decided to try The Polonez Tonight instead, especially since we are American with Polish, Jewish, German, & Russian Ancestry. We both had the Polish Plate with a sample of a stuffed cabbage roll, a half link of Polish sausage, four Pierogies (2 were Meat with Beef & Pork & 2 were Potato), potato pancake, sour cream, applesauce. The cucumbers were good. They tasted just like my Busia & Dziadzia used to make. I Loved seeing the giant Polish Eagle on the wall there, as well as it on the glass when you first walk in. I was sitting there thinking about getting another tattoo of a Polish Eagle on my shoulder after seeing the one on their wall. We talked with the Lady who seated us when we were done with Supper. I think that her name is Aleksandra. We talked a little bit about Polish Fest that is coming up in 2 Weeks & about speaking the Polish Language which I want to learn to Honor my Busia & Dziadzia, & about Concertinas & Accordions which I want to learn how to play. I Loved seeing The Traditional Polish clothing in the display case from The Old Country. It reminds me of the ones that The Syrena Polish Folk Dance Ensemble Of Milwaukee, Wisconsin wear at The Basilica Of Saint Josaphat aka Saint Josaphat's Polish Roman Catholic Church when they do their Annual Authentic Polish Dinner there & when they dance at Polish Fest every Year. Our waitress Liz was very friendly & polite. We had a awesome experience there. According to the menu, The Polonez is as Old as I am. It was started the same Month & Year that I was Born. I can't wait to go again. Thank You for the wonderful experience
A very nice ethnic experience. Wonderful food and helpful staff. We need to go their again. It's a keeper !!!
The food was fantastic! Live polka music! Our waitress Jenny was fabulous! So good. Will definately go back!
I went for Sunday brunch.Live accordion player was absolutely amazing. Food was authentic and fresh, service was good. Pleasantly please with the help experience
Love the authentic Polish food!
Oh yeah, delicious
Very good service and food☺
Incredible food, well presented, family service.
The food here was very good. You need to try the deviled eggs. The waitresses here were all really nice and attentive. Definitely worth checking into.
Great good at reasonable prices
Milwaukee's only authentic Polish restaurant does not disappoint. Everything is really good.
This is the place I learned to love bigos. Classic polish fare prepared well with the environment and charm of a longtime family owned business.
The fish fry was excellent and try the dill soup. Desserts were wonderful too.
Great Saturday night buffet & entertainment!
Still the only place to get Polish food in Milwaukee.
What a treat!! Visiting from Ohio. This is the best authentic Polish food I have ever had. The pork cutlets were delicious along with the purple cabbage, mashed potatoes, and cucumber salad....and ohhh the pierogies and sausage were amazing! Everything is handmade and cooked by the owners from their families recipes. There is polish polka music on sundays from an accordion player. Amazing stop!!
There is no place around that feels like home as much as Polonez. The buffet is the way to go. An abundance of the best Polish offerings will satisfy every taste you're curious about. This is a very well run establishment.
So authentic, very delicious, and service was amazing despite them being short staffed that evening. I was extremely impressed
Loved everything about this place the food is amazing
So wonderful. It was so authentic. We were just in Poland in August and it was so excellant
A very special place
Best we ever had!
Besides being warm and friendly and beautifully set up the food is Excellent!
We enjoy the real polish dish meal served here every Easter and Thanksgiving.
Friendly staff with a great atmosphere. First first in a Polish restaurant and will definitely go back!
Great Polish restaurant, staff was so fantastic, so was the host. Pierogi's we're absolutely amazing. Will definitely be back when I'm in Milwaukee again!!!
Sunday September 2019 Sunday Brunch Fruit Salad was sour. Bacon, thin very salty cheap quality. Slow to fill stations. Potato pancakes not done. Salads were generic.
Their buffet is an excellent way to host your family events. Try their Polish smorgasbord. You may enjoy it. Live Polish hand accordion.
Love the Friday fish fry and Sunday brunch. Really delicious homemade food.
If you want real polish food along with a accordian player this is the place to go. We had sunday brunch here and it was had polisih with Hunters stew, bacon , eggs, ham, etc. So many other Polish foods. Restrooms are really clean and handicapped accesabilty is very easy.
A true Polish staple! Very good!! Service was great!! Best cabbage rolls, polish sausage, potato pancakes, and pierogies!
The best Borscht soup I have had...and only real one in MKE worth having!!!
Very tasty food. Especially pickled herrings
Always great tasting food selections. If you love pierogies and real authentic polish food!!! Black cherry old fashions are the best!
Great service and authentic Polish food. If you like Polish food, are Polish, or are simply curious, this place is worth a visit.
Tasty authentic Polish food in a casual setting and reasonably priced.
Great, tasty Polish food. Perfect atmosphere.
Excellent food and service. They accommodated our party of 12. Will definitely be back again.
This place is a culinary marvel that is often overlooked. The Polish food and brandy selection are great. The Friday Fish Fry is superb! They make their own soups from scratch. There are so many wonderful things on this menu!
Love love love Polonez ❤️. The best Polish food in Milwaukee area❤️
Delicious food and fantastic polka music!
Love this buffet and live accordion both on Sunday morning
Great Polish food. Restaurant has been owned by a wonderful family for decades. I've tried many of their dishes over there years -- all delicious.
This was such a charming restaurant! The Polish food was amazing. We got the buffet, and it was so nice to be able to taste all the varieties. The food tasted home cooked even on the buffet. The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this place!
Delicious, homemade polish food. Been there many times and the food is always Perfect. Great service, great people, 5 stars.
Polonez aced the Mother's Day brunch with a fantastic buffet. I will be coming back. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good food.
Excellent, rate it 5 STARS...
Excellent Polish food and great service.
Friendly restaurant with classic Polish dishes and a few jazzed-up modern touches (kale was a vegetable option). If you've always wanted to try czarnina (duck soup), this is the place. The staff came out and sang "Sto Lat" for my birthday.
Excellent, authentic Polish food. The food is always great and the staff is very nice. For birthdays all the servers sing happy birthday in both English and Polish. The dining room is nothing special. It is a casual atmosphere where big groups and kids are welcome. It is a family friendly restaurant. Try the potato pancakes, perogies, sauerkraut, beef sausage plate, and meatloaf with mushroom sauce. The portions are extremely hearty. Go, enjoy, and eat your heart out. The prices of dishes are anywhere from 10-17 for an entree. They have 2 amazing soups mushroom and pickle.
Super food, super service. Can't say enough about the waitress and bartender server. So good. We'll definitely be back.
Nice Saturday night buffet with Polish and American favorites. The cabbage rolls are delicious. Live accordion music for polka dancing.
My boyfriend took me for birthday lunch a few days ago and we were both craving pierogies... Great choice! They even sang happy birthday in Polish and English... Which they were really too busy to do, but owner George and waitress Debbie came out with a piece of delicious cheesecake and sang to me! I've been a loyal Polonaise customer since I was tiny!
Wow! Red borscht, Cold War deviled eggs, and perogies were awesome. As someone with northern German heritage, this was more like home then much of the fair at German (Bavarian) restaurants. That meal with the "Black Boss" Polish porter made my day.
Amazing, authentic Polish food!
Awesome Polish restaurant and food in Milwaukee. Must go!!!!
this is an interesting spot to go to, the food is more traditional and the portions are good. the atmosphere is a little darker and draper although the food makes up for the difference
Amazing Polish food and atmosphere. If I lived closer I would go everyday! Amazing buffet as well.
We have gone to this restaurant occasionally over the years. It used to be busier and I imagine there are others like us that enjoyed our food quality more in the past. Best part yesterday was the dill pickle soup, yummy.
Love the atmosphere great server Great food
Ambiance is great. Food is amazing. Very fresh and clean. Located in a happening little shopping nook
Everything we ordered was excellent
Wonderful staff great food very nice place
Service was very slow but the food was ok. The fish fry was excellent, the sausage had little to no flavor. The potato pancakes were just like Grandma used to make.
This place is Outstanding!
Brunch was great. Great Polish heritage!
Excellent service, food, and live music! A really great dining experience! I definitely will be going back soon!!
Great cabbage rolls and perogies!
Best Polish restaurant in Milwaukee
Wonderful food with old world charm. Check out the Dill pickle soup and pierogies!
Excellent food.
FANTASTIC polish food, warm and friendly service. They serenaded us with accordian music! Thanks for the great memory!
Picked up a quart of czarina Hot with noodles , my mom who is 93 said it's as good As her's was . Still very hot when I get back to mom's house which is several miles from the restaurant.
Absolutely love this place! The food is authentic and delicious and the family that owns it is wonderful. The polish plate is the perfect option letting you try a variety of their offerings in one meal. The perogi’s (sweet cheese are my personal favorite) are another great option that you really can’t go wrong with! They are always respectful and friendly when you enter and leave making sure to greet and say goodbye to each guest when possible. They offer many buffets and special events with a large selection of polish offerings and usually have live music which is a treat for the entire family!
The restaurant is a quaint family restaurant in South Milwaukee. The menu contains many Polish staples. I tried the borscht, potato pancakes and several varieties of pierogies. The meal started out with warm rolls. The rolls were clearly microwaved and were rubbery. I wasn't able to chew them. There was an unpleasant and overpowering taste of worcestshire sauce in the borscht. The pancakes and pierogies are fried on the griddle in oil. They had good flavor, but the oil took away from it. The taste would be so much better if real butter was used.
Amazing food and service! I was finally able to try czarnina for the first time, and the cabbage rolls were authentic and delicious. I'll definitely be back!
Family atmosphere
Best food I have ever eaten. Service was wonderful. Accordian player was adorable .
Traditional Polish fair with extremely friendly and efficient staff. I have not seeing my waitress walk, she just ran nonstop and still managed to make me feel welcomed.
Authentic. Delicious brunch buffet. Great accordion player.
Amazing food, extremely nice waiters, good music. I loved it, I am definitely going back.
Love this place!
Great experience even though I don't like polish food all that much!
Great food, great people!
Everything I wanted and more! Jill did a good job taking care of us and everything we ate was delicious.
waited for 10 minutes at bar, no service at all, paid for open bar of crowd of 40 people and only 12 got service. Food is horrible polish cookery.
Good food & drinks & service.
Very good food & not expensive.
The food was absolutely amazing!
Been there two times now. Excellent food in a quaint atmosphere.
Had their Sunday brunch and the family was very happy with everything. The waitress was on her game and they kept the food well stocked continuously. Husband wasn't impressed with his last experience there but was very pleased with their brunch!
Authentic polish food served by a authentic polish staff good and fun
