This place is great! Atmosphere is great, the staff is wonderful and the food is amazing! Best Shepard's pie I've ever had. I can't recommend the machine shed enough! My boss was with me and he had an absolutely delicious looking Reuben. If you're in the area I definitely recommend stopping here for some great food.
I took my husband, his first time there, and he loved it. He ordered the fish fry, trying all three versions, and decided the beer battered were the best. I had catfish. Next time I need to try something new. It all looks so good. I love the catfish, but it's all I've ordered the last few years. You also would be hard pressed to find happier wait staff who make you feel like you came home for supper.
Enjoyable lunch with friends. We spec8went there so we could have a long leisurely lunch. We get together once a year and wanted to spend time together without being rushed out. I had a delicious corned beef sandwich with sweet potato fries. Brought half the sandwich home along with a bowl of potatoes soup and a piece of cake for my evening meal. So good
Average fare. Had the salad bar / soup. Soup was like concrete mix. Salad had a lot of extras.
It my Mom favorite place to go for her birthday.
Good food and deserts! I had the country fried steak. I also had the chocolate cake for desert, highly recommend that!
Excellent customer service and tasty comfort food!
Fun place to come to. Great food for a reasonable price. Clean restaurant and restrooms! Will be back!
Nice fish fry, you never leave Hungry!!!
Great food! Patti was a terrific waitress. She took the time on a busy Friday to add a personal touch for Mom and I.
Good food, pretty greasy. I got the salad bar and was bummed when I left to see the salad bar fully stocked but when I went up (we were seated in another room) there was less than half that selection. Over all the food was good, bloody Mary was delicious. Nice little gift shop too!
If your hungry they feed you like back home on the dairy farm meals! Plentiful with deserts and fresh rolls. Great family place and cute little shop in the front. Steve the manager is great, friendly and very helpful.
Great food great customer service
I can't believe this place doesn't have five stars. This is class American comfort food - it's what Cracker barrel wishes it were. Decent portions, reasonable prices, and a meat and potato style menu. The last tiem I went I had roast turkey. When I went with friends, we had pot roast, and a pork loin - great stuff. Nothing fancy here (you drink out of a mason jar), just really good food, and portions that won;t let you go away hungry.
Good food and service. Cute little shop also. I look forward to going again.
Great experience as always. The appetizers and entrees are delicious, and their sides are always good. Kyla our server was great!
Was really excited to visit, but utterly disappointed. It was our waitress 2nd day, so giving 2 stars as opposed to 1. Worst burbon old fashioned I ever had, and I've had some bad ones! Didn't get the traditional "fixings". We had to ask after our entrees were out. Once brought out we still didn't get it all, missing the beans. Soup came out after entree, only when asked. Wife ordered med rare prime rib. It was well done and dry as heck. My bbq plate was also well done and dry. Maybe cuz it was Friday and fish seemed to be the main attraction. Been there 3 other times and had a great experience, but not this time.
Waiter was slow. Rude made mistakes and acted like she didn't. We ordered diet soda she gave us regular then said no I didnt. Food was good
Good old fashion fixings and all!!!
Large pork chop portions. Served hot. Good service. I always enjoy hanging out in the gift shop.
Little Gem hidden in Pewaukee! I'd highly recommend it
Place reminds me of a cracker barrel but more homey and comfortable. Nice menu selections, and the Mason jars for cups takes me back.. :)
Great place Recommended by a coworker. Full on American food menu. Hearty portions. Great staff, friendly and attentive. Miranda was my server and she was fantastic! She made the experience even more enjoyable. I would go back next time I'm in Wisconsin as long as she was serving. The decor was original with many seed company logos and farm nostalgia. Parked out from was an early vintage Allis Chalmers I'm assuming creates a good conversation piece. 5 stars for sure with this restaurant!
Waited 30 minutes to get a table when there were 20 open tables. Finally got seated. We got our drinks. The water smelled like rotten eggs. The plates for the bread were ice cold. Literally frosty. Bread wasn’t fresh. I’ve eaten here many times and I know what the bread fresh tastes like. Got our meals and there was hair in my girlfriends Rueben. I had to eat my food while she had to watch.tonight was not a good experience. I will not be eating here again. Overall the food was not that great. The soup was good. That’s about it. The waitress was nice. They did take $10 off the meal for the inconvenience. But was still a bad enough experience that makes me not want to come back. Go to Thunder Bay grill next door. Much better place to eat. Update-I have been sick vomiting all night and into day!
Excellent service - our waitress was sweet and recommended the best dishes. Great food, nice place!
Lots of food, much better than any fast food place. Good home cooked meal like MOM or DAD would make.
I had the open faced turkey sandwich meal. It is rare to get large pieces of turkey breast that aren't processed on this type of sandwich. Great (real) mashed potatoes and gravy as well. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The rating is partially for the brunch I've been to several times. All very tasty - especially the thick, crisp bacon!! Pecan rolls are amazing too. :)
Excellent home farm food. All well prepared with friendly service. I had pot pie that was super hot but chicken was not overdone. Fresh rolls set off the meal well.
My first time at this restaurant and I was very impressed. Lots of good food and the staff went over and beyond to meet our needs.
Very attractive restaurant. Lots of booths and tables. Big,, rustic dining area. Gift shop as you come in, fun to browse. We were there for breakfast, good coffee and service. I had the eggs Benedict,, it was delicious. The hashbrown casserole was kind of mushy and greasy, I wouldn't order that again. Blueberry pancakes looked great. We will come back. Very good experience.
Good food, service was slow
Mothers Day brunch buffet, friday fish fry, lunch on the weekend with my fellow soldiers...all of it great. Food was hot. Not soggy as if it's been sitting out. Every server was polite and sociable. One of the best fish fry options I've had in a long time, close with Rochester Deli. The buffet is amazing. Huge selection and always delicious. Highly recommend. Easy to spot from 94, best option in that area (sorry unnamed restaurant close by)
Great food. Awesome Buffet. Great service.
Very rude waitress. She suggested we spank our children. She made fun of our orders. Our soup came out room temperature. All dishes came at WAY different times so we weren't eating together. I looked over my shoulder at someone who got steak because it appeared the last had to wrestle it for a while and I never actually saw her successfully cut into it. Fried chicken was pale (yeesh). Really awful dining experience. Don't come here.
Loved it. Everything was fresh and home made... Great salad bar... Brisket and Pot Roast were melt in your mouth. Really nice wait staff. We will be back.
I loved the food, service was great. However, I called ahead, no wait. Drove in, no cars. When I asked for a table for two, they told me 20 minute wait. Ironically the waiting area is a gift shop. Only once I had looked at everything the pager magically went off to be seated. My suspicions were confirmed when I noticed many open, and set tables in the dining room on the way to ours.
Lacking in staff potential, food is halfway decent and coffee is horrible unless your used to Folgers. I love the addition of an egg for free if you say "I love eggs" when ordering. The cinnamon rolls and pecan rolls are the size of loaves, served my whole family including 2 teenagers.
Maybe I'm used to the hot rolls at Texas roadhouse but food here was bland and cold. Nothing exciting, plus service was horrible. Could never get her attention to get drinks and once the meal finally came she got super rude when we asked another waitress if we could get something to drink. She came over and demanded to know why we didn't wait to ask her, when we told her we've been asking for sodas since we first arrived she snickered and said whatever and walked away. Overall bad experience
The food is excellent! Fresh and delicious! There were 11 of us for brunch....and Patty is very attentive ♡ We will be back!
Went to the location in Appleton years ago so, thought this one in Pewaukee would be just as good. Our waitress was wonderful but, the food was terrible. My son ordered the whole catfish and the meat was like mash potatoes. The brisket I ordered was flavorless, unless you count the sauce My husband pork was tough. Thank goodness our waitress was awesome
The food was awesome! Short wait. Lots to look at while your waiting.
Ok food and service...pricey.
Our server Miranda did a great job - very personable and attentive to our needs. Fantastic food. Good value for the money.
This place is going down hill! It used to be so good! Makes me sad! We walked in ,no one to be found! Finally a man came up sat us. Then we wait . There are 2 servers in the dining room and literally two other tables. We were the 3rd. The servers walked to thier tables neither one acknowledge us. I got up and went to find someone. Found a server asked her who our server was. She said oh I'll go find out. So our server finally came over. We ordered 2 chicken tender meals and the cauliflower appetizer. And French onion soup. The French onion soup was so dark and sweet I couldn't even eat it.the chicken tenders were over Cooke and parts were burnt. Those yummy apples they put on the table... yeah they looked gross like they were sitting forever. Tasted nasty. The best part about our meal was the coleslaw, breat and soda. We wont be back there for a long time.
My crispy chicken sandwich was really good. I also liked the sauce that was on it. Its a really cool place.
Had Easter brunch today with my family. So much food to choose from. Everything was wonderful including our waiter. I wish I could give 10 stars. We will be back next year and thank you for all your hard work to the staff! Awesome brunch!!
LOVE THIS PLACE! Gimme my pancakes
Get the Hungry Man's breakfast, it was quite delicious!!
Great farm or country-style food. Had the chicken fried steak. 4 stars instead of 5 due to very slow service. This is my second visit and the service did not improve from my first visit.
Good food good atmosphere!
Great food and a really great waitress.
This was always our go-to place for breakfast after doctor's appointment. We had noticed in the past that their dinners were just "meh". Well, unfortunately, now the breakfasts are too. We'll be looking for a new breakfast stop. Sorry to take this place out of our rotation.
One of my favorite family styled restaurants without to many kids running around yell and screaming, not to loud either large servings love it for our large family
Service for dinner at 615 pm on a Sunday was not good. Not too busy, but possibly understaffed. We waited 10 minutes and were ready to leave by the time our server came for the drink order. After ordering, saw 2 other tables get food before ours about 30 minutes-again too long of a wait. Food tasted good.
We come here for breakfast sometimes and every time we have good service and the food is always good. Comfortable place not crammed like some places. Update: after a few more visits to Machinr Shed, I updated from 4 to 5 stars. Great service every time I come, fantastic food, great environment. Had Christine as our waitress today and she was very nice and helped with anything we needed. Always treated with the utmost respect here will be recommending to my friends and family, and definitely will be coming back!
Food was good. Service was very slow and there was only about six tables in our section
Food is always good and plenty of food for the price service is good to
I only go for their Sunday brunch buffet! Honestly I only load up on bacon (super thick cut and delicious) and their cheesy hashbrown potatoes for the buffet! They have other items like fried chicken, an omelette bar, eggs, sausage, salad bar, etc...but that's where it's at for me! I'm sad that they don't offer it every day!
I like this place for the amount of food you get for the price. All good eating, fish frys are reasonably priced and delicious. I like the beer battered.
It was a typical Machine Shed restaurant. Plenty of food but our server was a little scattered, I think she was new.
Great food and service. Took great care of us without hovering.
Good food. The place is like a big farm. Recommend
Had a great time last night 36 of us... great service... delicious food :)
It use to be better. The food could have been better. I was not asked if I wanted more to drink. It will be a long time before I eat there again.
Every time I have come here on a Sunday brunch everything was exceptional. I came here today oh, and the roast beef was just out of this world I have never had better roast beef in my life I didn't even need a knife to barely cut it! food is always great here I've come here in the past during the week at night time for dinner and the dinners are always great! Please keep up the good work it's worth the drive from West Allis
We haven't seen each other for a long time. We enjoyed excellent food and conversation..
Server was very friendly! Food was good. Potato soup is awesome
It was ok at best. The waitress didn't bring tarter or sides on our fish fry. This seems to be normal there since it has happened on a few occasions. We're done with this restaurant.
Beer Batter fish is phenomenal. Excellent service.
Great service friendly staff and solid food, definitely a Midwest experience. Kind of like a Texas Roadhouse but for breakfast food.
Service was good. Don't order the catfish. Mine was not cooked all the way. Sent it back and they offered me another meal on the house. I opted for chocolate cake instead which was AWESOME.
Fantastic all you can eat brunch. Definitely worth a visit
I am a huge fan of the machine shed, even recommending it to everyone I know! However I have to say this time I was a tad disappointed when it came to our service. I went with my parents who had gone once before tonight and raved about everything at the Machine Shed. Tonight however our server was just down right not good. Not only was he rude, but when he brought us our sides and extras they were sloopy. He never asked if anyone needed a refill and even when a manager stopped to ask if we needed refills he never came back with the root beer requested... The food was great as it usually is!! I hope the service next time is better!
I have dined at Machine Shed at numerous times in the past, but it was very disappointed last night's dinner. I ordered a Prime Ribs - The Hoss which is the largest size on the menu and I wanted Medium Rear, it was about 5:45pm when I got my Prime Ribs, it looked so dry and was like it was left over from the previous day. It says on the menu that the Prime Ribs was freshly roasted daily. It was so early and the meat was that dry, I didn't believe it was roasted daily. As I was eating, the center was like well done. Besides that, I also ordered the mushroom as side dish, which was $1.99, but it only had 6 tiny little mushrooms. It was just not right. with the prize that we paid for. I don't think I would go back there for Prime Ribs.
Good food , okay service , had a hard time getting refills on anything other than coffee . I liked the buffet lots of choices .
The food is always delicious and the staff is always smiling, long term employees there so they you know they must treat them well which is good to know!
I have always enjoyed the Machine Shed. It's a place where you know you will get a tasty filling meal with good service. Does it stand out as my favorite place? no, but it's always a sure thing. The location is great, and the little store is fun. I'm not quite sure what they could do better, but if they did make some improvements to set themselves apart this would be a 5 star all day long!
Pretty overpriced. Food was good but I've had food just as good other places for a lot less money. Waitress seemed to think she needed to shout at us every time she spoke to us. I believe her name was Sheila. Salad bar was nothing exceptional just your basic salad bar and that was very overpriced.
The food was very good along with the service. I have only one complaint. When we arrived we couldn't find anyone to seat us. After about 10 minutes we finally went and searched for someone and were seated. Except for that lunch was great.
Had a group of 12 of us for a family dinner with most of us coming in from out of town. We had such a great experience. The manager made sure everything was ready for us and we had an excellent server. The food was great and the menu accommodated everyone’s tastes from my 8 mo old niece to my 86 yr old grandpa. Sitting around a huge dinner table was a wonderful way for us to end our family weekend. The home style pot roast reminded me of family dinners growing up. Thanks to the manager and staff for helping make it special. :)
My bowling team came in for dinner after a long day on the lanes. We made a reservation and everything was all set for us when we arrived. Our servers kathy and patty were excellent and so friendly. I felt at home eating here! I would highly recommend coming here for group meals or just a family dinner
I had the Cobb salad. It was one of the best salads I've ever eaten!! Delicious!!
I originally posted four stars but then was asked for details. After thinking about it I'm changing it to three stars - here's why. I live in area where we don't have a Machine Shed close by but I remember a time not that long ago when I could bring my family here for a good meal at a good price. Yesterday I spent $85 (tip included) for three dinners. Machine Shed is not a four or five star restaurant but they charge the price of one. For their "family style" dinner they used to bring out large bowls of cottage cheese, coleslaw, and a sweet apple pie filling thing (more of a dessert but whatever) that were passed around the table as appetizers. For $85 you now get to choose two of the three and what they brought out was a small plate of the two. Also, our waitress never gave us the option. I heard another table's server ask his guests what they wanted; not ours. I would have preferred cottage cheese to that super-sweet apple dish. Oh, and the "bread basket" contained one dinner roll and one very small square of carrot cake. If we're left with options like this, then why not make the salad bar an option? Maybe it can be added to the dinner for an upcharge, don't know. But still, for the price, com'on man - feed me! As for the food they brought out, the girls' meals were fine but my prime rib was only warm and was a horrible cut - LOTS of fat. If you're limiting portion size of the family style options for health reasons then maybe stop serving four ounces of fat with a ten ounce cut of meat. I'd rather fill up on coleslaw (or a salad bar) than leave half my meal on the plate as inedible. Also, the veggie dish that came with my meal was overcooked, mushy, and so over-peppered there was no taste left to the cauliflower or squash. I had to set that aside too. Overall my experience was less than the fond memories I have of going to Machine Shed and I likely won't be back. There are plenty of other options in the same price range that offer better food and service. That Dang Root Beer just isn't enough anymore.
Stopped there first night of business trip. Took a long time to get order in and to have it served. Mashed potatoes were cold and pasty. Very little taste in the chicken. Said it had "secret spices". Not sure what they could have been. Wasn't salt.
Establishment has gone extremely far downhill from where it used to be. Our server was beyond rude. How she said that she'd been working there for a year, I'll never understand. The French Onion soup had the worst presentation I'd ever seen, and it didn't even have onions in it. Our entire table ordered it, and 'poor' quality, is being nice. When the 'fixins' came out, 'the coleslaw, applesauce and bread', no plates were provided. No steak knives with the steaks. We had to ask for those, when she finally came back 10 minutes later. The steaks were well overcooked or sitting under the heat lamp too long. Then there's also that the fixins and soup came at the same time, and then the meals within the next three minutes. Quality is now hit or miss at Machine Shed. It used to always be great, but unfortunately it has become 'good if you don't come that often', or it is 'average to poor if you remember how it used to be.'
AMAZING FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE!!
Nice, reasonably priced food. Great customer service.
Checkered shirts! Mason jars! Old school! Home style! Hay ride! "Fix'ns!" Pie! Salad bar! Gift shop! Our waitress was one of the best we've had in years!
Nice staff . we gave it 3 stars because it was a little chilly inside and to be fair it was the end of the night and people were cleaning up as we were eating. a little distracting and we did not receive flatware right away. the service was great tho. the food was really good. definitely will be back soon.
Had our wedding rehearsal at Loft and Chapel nearby, so we had our rehearsal dinner at Machine Shed. We had the smaller banquet room and had a buffet style meal. It was really good, and the staff was wonderful!
The food was excellent. I had the samon fish with the apple glaze. Very good. Service was okay.
The food was really good. I'm curious as to what other kind of bread was served with the rolls, cooked apples and coleslaw. It was amazing! I think we had a newer server, she forgot refills, and the vegetable that was suppose to come with dinner until we reminded her about halfway through the meal when she came back to ask how everything tasted. so we weren't able to enjoy them. I will be back because the food was truly delish! And next time I'm going to try a dessert!
Wisconsin staple. Farm fresh, down home cooking. Portions are huge!!! Bring your appetite. Servers i encountered very nice. If you come during lunch though there are seemingly not enough people, no one was up front to seat us. Forgot to take pictures this time around.
A great place to meet for breakfast. Great breakfast and friendly attentive service. Remember to tell the server that you love eggs and they will add a free egg to your breakfast.
The food was average. They have an all you can eat soup and salad for $11 but it’s just so so.
Tasty food, friendly service.
Food was good. Service at the buffet was excellent. Waitress was on top of her game.
Great big portions, friendly service, delicious food! Cool setup with a little gift shop style entrance with some cool trinkets
(I didn't get to finish my review the first time. My 2 year old needed a cuddle.) We randomly picked a new restaurant to have supper at while our oldest was at a Birthday party nearby. Was not disappointed at all. Very casual, almost like waltzing into a family members home. Had a very hard time picking from the menu, as it all looked delicious. Comfort foods and good drinks. Plus the kids loved the tractors they got to play with. 10/10 will definitely eat there again.
Sunday brunch....so good
For a Saturday afternoon, it was dead and we had to wait over 10 minutes for a table. The apperizter only came out about 5 minutes before the food. The waitress never came over to ask how the food was or refill the drinks. We didn't even eat any of our food before she put the check on the table. Food was good but service was horrible.
Good Food. Great Service. I will return. Just wont order steak again. Well done means Well done. Not medium. You get lots of food at Machine Shed.
Food was good. Was seated right away. Clean. However it is pricey in my eyes. Being from Madison WI. were things are pricey to start. A 1/2 lb burger was $10.50 with order of Fries.. $.050 for cheese. . I guess it is what it is.
The absolute best cinnamon french toast I've ever had! The #11 breakfast has so much food, I packed up half of it to give to a homeless person tonight. Sausage link which is actually about the size of a bratwurst cut in half, two ginormous thick juicy strips of bacon. Then you get two sides, I chose one side of biscuits and gravy and hash browns. All very delicious! I want to make coming here a weekly tradition.
Great food, great staff, great parking. A man that seemed to be the manager brought our food out and was very attentive to our table. Bone in catfish was excellent. 10/10 would eat again.
I go to machine shed once a year for a family holiday get together. The store is really neat with a lot of unique items that are great for a gift or a treat for yourself. Everytime I have been there I was seated promptly even with a group of 10+ people. They can accommodate large groups even without notice. A lot of seating area. Staff is amazing and super friendly. Food is outstanding. It reminds me of home cooked meals like mom would make. A salad bar also makes a great addition. The whole restaurant including bathrooms is extremely clean. Only complaint I have is that if you ask for something like a soda refill etc. the staff needs to be reminded a few times because they forget. Not a big deal I understand they are busy. Also its awesome you get free rolls, sweet bread, coleslaw and glazed apples before dinner. Try it and you will love it!
First time here and would not go back. It is Father's day, so you know you will be busy, you have tons of reservations and you will have walkins. Yet you have ONE bartender who us making drinks and serving every table around the bar, are you kidding me ??? Not only was the service awful, she was extremely rude. Food wise I was not impressed, I had the cinnamon french toast, worst french toast I have ever had. Manager need to work on scheduling ability, lack of staff serving guests was unacceptable. You had 4 people up front seating people but not enough actually serving.
Arrived at 11:20, was told there would be a 10 minute wait. About 10 minutes later the hostess called us back. The waitress seated us and handed us menus. When she returned to take our order, we requested breakfast menus. She told us they were no longer serving breakfast. She offered up the soup of the day. I told her we were leaving, I didn't want a bowl of soup or a sandwich for breakfast. They might have told us when we arrived that breakfast would no longer be available. What made me so angry, was no as apology. I passed several restaurant's at prior exits, all of which I could have enjoyed breakfast! Ended up getting back on the interstate and driving through without breakfast. Dont think I'll visit there again.
I went there with my sister and her family. People just won't give up their seats because they were eating and eating and eating. I will say the food was good but I sure didn't eat as much as others.
nice place great food.
Terrible service and food was not good. It’s hit or miss but as of late it’s a miss. More restaurants in area with much better food and service. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.
The meal was good, but the waitress was horrible. I enjoyed the cute little shop. Clean.
Great food and good service
We were very disappointed with our food. Two of us had pork chops which were overcooked and very dry. I had the country fried chicken which was also overcooked and dry. The mashed potatoes were hard, dry and had very little gravy. We will not return.
Service and food is always Great
Very good food totally worth it!
Definitely not farm to table. Prime rib, pork chops, and brisket were extremely dry and inedible. The seasonal vegetable was canned corns. First drink order was wrong, second they didn’t have and third was never delivered. Most of our meal was comped which was the only good part.
The food was above average and the portions were huge. We felt we got our value for the money and Ben was a great server. We will go back.
Great food. Love the gift shop!
Amazing place ... good food and nice people
First was seated in a dark corner. Someone moved us to another section waited 10 minutes before someone asked if we were helped told him. No. He took our order which included appetizer, soup and vixens and in 10 minutes they ALL WERE THERE. No time to eat and enjoy anything. So we took it to go. Now yes we did not pay full price but it was my wedding anniversary. 21 years. Just wish employees knew not to push us out like cattle. Especially when there is no wait.
The Machine Shed is a great place to get a hearty meal. It has fare typical of the '90s such as the fried chicken. Not just chicken fingers but real fried chicken on the bones. My wife had a nice Cobb Salad. Our friends had the salad bar, with the delicious soup (stuffed baked potato soup and French onion. My buddy also had the baked cod fish, All-you-can-eat. The service was terrific. We had Ben. Food served hot. No mistakes on our order even though we had many dietary restrictions. Ben stopped by the table at least 20 times during the meal to check on us. If you're looking for an old fashioned hearty meal, try out the Machine Shed.
The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed. The food was well prepared and the service was fast and courteous. The fried chicken was great and reminded me of my time in the south. The restuarant is easy to find and parking is plentiful. A good place for a relaxed comfort food meal.
Food is fantastic! I had a cheeseburger with fries and it blew me away! Atmosphere is super neat with a very rural feel to it. The best part, however, about the machine shed is the service... the hostesses were very kind and the waiting staff was extremely friendly and, who would have guessed, the bussers were very quick, respectful, and seemed to be having a lot of fun! It's always nice to see smiles all over the place... I will be back soon to eat again
Great place great food.
Great place to meet friends. I met my friend for lunch and we were not hustled to move on after we finished. The food was excellent, and you can opt for smaller or larger portions. Hearty, savory fare. Pleasant wait staff, too.
We had a great waitress and the restaurant was clean at the Machine Shed great table service amazing
Awesome friendly service from waitstaff (especially Shelia and Denise) . Management roles up their sleeves and pitches in when they see something needs to get done. Tracy and Jamie are great with the customers. Great teamwork at this location. And the food is great too.
Smaller portions, more expensive, food not very warm & soup did not taste the same.
Service was okay, we had a big party, so I'm sure that is difficult to manage for some restaurants. The atmosphere is like slightly more upscale than cracker barrel. The food was what you would expect from that caliber of a restaurant. The cinnamon rolls are ridiculously huge, but left a lot to be desired. My veggie omelette was just okay and the hashbrown casserole was DELICIOUS. I'm not sure I'd come back, it's not really my kind of fair.
Yesss! Great food and service
During our recent visit the staff was wonderful. We had relatives from out of town that we took here. They enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
We heard of the Machine Shed Restaurant but had never been, so we gave it a try. We had a great experience. The atmosphere is quieter with a southern charm to it. The booths were comfortable and large. Service was friendly and prompt. The potato soup was great. They give a large portion for all the entrees we ordered. We celebrated my wife's birthday so our waitress was going to give her the apple dumpling but they ran out so they gave her warm apple pie a la mode plus a coupon for a free apple dumpling for next time! It was a great place to eat as a family. Highly recommend. We will visit again.
It was recommended by a customer of mine. Great Great Great restaurant
Fried chicken dinner is great! A way better version of Cracker Barrel!
One of my favorite spots in Waukesha/Pewaukee. We've hosted our baby shower and our rehearsal dinner here in addition to attending brunches and just stopping by for dinner. The service is wonderful and food is awesome!
This place was so good. The staff was warm and professional, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious. I had no idea we'd be getting a boatload of sides with our dinner, or I would have skipped the appetizer. The beer cheese fondue was very delicious, though. I am looking forward to the next opportunity to eat here!
Food was simply amazing. Service wasnt bad but could be improved
Generally good but I have had inconsistent service here. Recent visit was not great. Server failed to bring "fixings" did not bring one of the beverages and never did a beverage refill. Did try to repair bad service by offering free desert.
What a delicious way to spend lunch while waiting for your vehicle to get new tires installed.
Great back home atmosphere. Food is great and has been ever since they opened. You will not be disappointed in the quality that is served. Relaxing atmosphere and no one is pushing for you to leave.
I came here for breakfast yesterday and was not a fan of the French toast. So I decided to come for lunch today & the meat loaf was great! I also tried a slice of pie and I really liked it. The service was great both times for being busy.
I've been going here most of my life and it never disappoints. If you're a resident and haven't been here then definitely go and if you're in town for a day or two then you should try it out! I'm not sure if saying I love eggs gets you an extra egg anymore but try it anyway!
The food is exceptional, service wonderful.
Country atmosphere with large booths and nice salad bar. The entrees are just okay. Had the stuffed pork chop which was huge but didn't love the flavor (very sweet). My husband had the all you can eat ribs which again huge portion but not that great (he didn't ask for an additional portion. The service is really good and there is a very cute general store attached. My kids had the chicken fingers which they liked and my youngest had the potato soup which was very good.
Never got to eat there. First told that you can't make same day reservations so decided to take our chances and go and just wait. Pulled into the parking lot, it wasn't even half full so we thought it be fine. We were told it would be an hour wait!!! What?? Barely anyone waiting in the store or outside. 3 other groups heard this and left. It used to be super busy..
I received a gift card from a friend to Machine Shed about a year ago and the nearest location is Pewaukee. We live in Milwaukee so not relatively close to Pewaukee, but we planned it so we could stop by on the way home from a trip in that direction. We decided to do pick up and not sit down, as it was getting late and we had tired and hungry kids, to finally use that gift card. We got home and it was absolutely delicious. Prices compared to the portions was a really nice amount. I wish there was a closer location, but will most definitely stop by and hopefully dine in next time in that area. Service from the young lady on the phone to the cashier was great. Seemed happy and genuine. I highly recommend there food. Assuming the service experience would be the same if you dine in I recommend giving them a try.
If you're looking for something more like home cooking this is the place to go.
Best steak iv ever had! Staff was great too. wife approved. Recommend to everyone whos in town or passing by to stop here and eat!
service was slow. Waitress stated 2 servers called in and they had a party of 17. We understood. Place was clean. Food was great as usual. Manager came to our table to check and see if everything was ok. Checks were goofed up. Waitress fixed them. Waitress was pleasant despite everything
Buffets is good. Usually what we come here for. Wish theyd change it up but my family loves this place. We will still come back. Service is great.
I love their Sunday brunch- the waffles with their home made whip cream and strawberries is to. Die. For. I might be drooling just thinking about them as I’m typing this. :p
Great food great atmosphere friendly staff not to expensive lots of room for big parties
Excellent food and was ready for us to take back to our room.
Love it. A real American old style restaurant. Me, as a tourist, I was feeling that I was eating in small village somewhere lost in the middle of nowhere in America and eating together with the local farmers. Food is great. Prices good. Huge vegetable buffet. Clean place and service always happy. Family business. There is also a small store inside to buy souvenirs.
Low price, big servings and the wait staff is fantastic, friendly and made it feel like I was invited out to my friend's farmhouse, just for the meal. But I felt like I had been welcome to come for years. Would definitely recommend, because I'm going back when I can.
Not great :-/ Not what it used to be service was good. Food was iffy. Pot roast was 15 dollars for a small bowl of salty meat. The presentation on country fried steak was rough a small piece of meat and a blob of mashed potatoes on an oversized plate. Money is better spent elsewhere.
