I'm Mr. Chen and was help some UWM students to dining the lunch menu on the dinner time. However due to some communication misunderstanding, those students had some unpleasant experience. I apologize to both owner and those students, it’s a misunderstanding. In my own experience, Huanxi have fantastic all you can eat hot pot and the price is best in Milwaukee.

We had awful service which unfortunately ruined our experience. We initially ordered some drinks and some cheese curds. It took the waitress 15 minutes to grab our two sodas and a water. The cheesecurds were good but they took awhile to come out and beforehand another waiter came to "take our order" which we found out 40 min later was never submitted so we paid for our drinks and left. The waitress did not apologize at all. Thanks Ashley for your outstandingly awful service.

This used to be my favorite restaurant and I loved their lunch combo. Recently, however, I ordered the beef and mixed vegetables combo. Much to my dismay, I WAS DISGUSTED TO FIND A SCREW IN MY FOOD. I KID YOU NOT...I FOUND A LITERAL SCREW IN MY FOOD. You can only imagine how relieved I was that I hadn’t accidentally ingested this item, which would have certainly been very hazardous to my health. Even an amateur cook knows to double check the food before it goes out to the customer. How this could have been missed astounds me. I am thoroughly revulsed by the entire experience and I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH.

They're my new favorite! They deliver either from their store directly or through Eat Street - I've gotten delivery all the way out in Washington Heights. That's how much I love this place. The portions are large, the price is right, and they're open later than most. Dining in, the staff was super friendly. Not excessively attentive, but we weren't left needing a thing. I will definitely be trying their hot pot and Korean BBQ at some point and will forever be in love with their takeout!

Huan Xi is such a great experience each time. The hot pot flavor is diverse and satisfying with a huge selection of meats and vegetables. My kids were not well behaved but the staff was so kind and willing to help. I also like the fact that there are some TVs to watch as you're eating.

I had an awesome experience at Huan xi this past weekend. I had the spicy hot pot buffet. I cannot believe you get UNLIMITED amounts of food brought right to you. The sauce bar allowed me to have my own unique flavors and experience. My server was very helpful and patient with us. I will definitely be back to this establishment with more friends and family. This is a must try place!

This was my go to Chinese place when I lived on the East Side. Good food and good portions. Great Orange chicken and General Tso chicken. They have a great lunch deal with enough food for two meals.

Horrible service. Me and friend went in for hotpot and they made us wait 15 mins for before coming to us and asking what we want to order and asking us what we want to drink. Afterwards We even had to get up and ask if we can re order some more food. After we were done eating we went and paid and I tipped them 5 bucks cause of the horrible service. Afterwards they told me we had to tip at least 15-20% for them. Ummm no. 5 bucks was generous enough from me for the horrible service. After we left outside they chase after us saying next time we come back they will charge us 80%. DO NOT COME AND EAT HERE! these people who work here don’t know about customer service

I've always had great food here. Have both eaten in, taken to go, and have had delivery. I've never had any complaints about the service. Sometimes during a rush it may take a little while to get seated but it's not like I was ever ignored.

Our dining experience was very bad. The food quality, quantity, and service all sucked. They definitely took advantage of us, since they knew we are not familiar with Chinese food. Not recommend this restaurant at all. They are no integrity!!! We will never came back. They deserve only zero point!!! We've ordered delivery from here a few times and most times it was a pleasant experience. Once my delivery was cancelled without informing me. I had to drive there to pick it up, but since then we have had no issues. My girlfriend enjoys the fried rice a lot and I particularly like the sweet and sour chicken. Also the egg rolls are really good here - hard to find good egg rolls sometimes. We'll be ordering again for sure.

We had a really good experience recently at Huan Xi. We were getting ready to leave and could not possibly eat all of the large portion of food brought to us. The server helped get us some ice and get everything packed up to take on our journey. She was beyond helpful and we appreciated that. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the menu was impressive in its variety. We will definitely make Huan Xi a scheduled stop next time we visit Milwaukee.

This is a good place to eat. Not excellent, but good nonetheless. The food was decent, not anything to get excited about but certainly not bad. The one major place they shine in is service. They were very quick, efficient, and to the point. Overall, not a bad choice for food.

Quality seems to have gone down. i got orange chicken and two shrimp rolls. The shrimp rolls were ok, but the orange chicken had a coating of underdone batter, and the sauce was thick and sparse. A few sad florets of broccoli and very sticky and mealy white rice. Threw $20 out the window. :(

As someone who has studied Chinese for a few years and been to China, I had always liked coming here. My Chinese club had arranged going here to get hot pot and we got a discount since there was so many of us. Normal hot pot (which you can get anything and all you can eat) is usually $23. Our discount was that each of us pay $15 for a limited menu. However, when we got the food it was not enough for any of us (all 15 of us in attendance agreed it was not enough) and since we were still paying $15 we thought we could at least get more. When we asked the waitress she said that was not the deal. One of us asked to talk to the boss. When the boss came and we asked if we could get more and complain about the miscommunication, he started to yell at us and call us liars. He and one of us who spoke fluent Chinese argued for at least an hour. He was yelling at her and arguing with her, telling her she was wrong to complain. Then he said that he would rather talk to a man. At this point we were all tired of arguing and asked the boss to leave us alone for the rest of the evening. We said we will still pay the agreed $15 but just wanted to let them know how dissatisfied we were about the amount of food they gave us for the price we were all paying. However, when we asked him to leave, he would not leave and instead started to argue with us, calling us all liars. Long story short, while the food we had was good, it was not what we all thought we were getting for our money and the service was absolutely terrible.

The food on the Chinese menu has been great, everything I've tried. The spicy beef tendon and the curried beef casserole were standouts. If you dine in, the hot pot is awesome. The stuff on the American Chinese menu is good, but the traditional stuff is better.

DISGUSTING! I have had some awful food in Milwaukee, but Huan Xi Chinese restaurant is by far the soggiest, most flavorless, and clearly old Chinese food ice ever eaten. I don't even want my money back. All I want is a health inspector to check the kitchen. I hope they either improve on this absolutely retched food, or go out of business. We were not happy dining there. The owner has been quarreling with customers. From what we saw, Huanxi provided the table with a very small amount of food and they complained about it. The boss didn't want to make up anything, and he kept being so defensive and yelling at them. It was very annoying. We did not feel good about our food either, and the service was very poor, but they charged us tips by default. I guess the boss should improve his food quality and management skills. NOT recommend at all!!!

I wish that I could do zero stars! I have been here a few times and the service got more horrific. This is a terrible restaurant with terrible and RUDE management! I will never be eating here again and I would advise the same from everyone else! They completely messed up my order and refused to do anything about it and tried to make me pay to get it fixed. I typically would not complain about small inconveniences because people make mistakes, but this last time, the way the situation was handled completely boggled me. This place just gets worse and worse.

I went here with my best friends, there were about eight of us. The staff did a great job handling us and putting up with our celebratory chaos. This was the first time they'd ever tried hot pot and it was yummy!!! You pay a lot, but the service and great food are very worth it.

I've been eating Huan Xi food since 2010. They moved to a larger location and seem to be doing well; despite the changes Huan Xi is still my favorite spot for Chinese food. Order from the Chinese menu; the American-Chinese food is good but the Chinese menu is something special. The curry fish, seaweed soup, spicy beef tendon, and cumin lamb are my top orders.
