The best Ameriasian food in the twin ports. Pretty good people too if you ask me: always convivial, mostly nice. General Tso (on the kitchen staff here) will share his chicken if he is in a good mood. Try the Hot and Sour Soup, and the Jhowzee. 5 Dragons good.

The sesame chicken was hot and fresh, but lacked flavor. The lo mein was delicious. Wontons were cold when we got them, so it was basically warmed over cream cheese. We didn't have time to go back in.

It was ok; we had a variety; the wontons and pork fried rice were good, but nothing really stood out. For us it's been hit and miss, likely depending on who is cooking; you won't go wrong, but it's chancy to be a standing night or not.

Everybody has their own favorite Chinese restaurant. The Golden Inn is ours. In fact, it's the ONLY Chinese restaurant we dine at in the greater Twin Ports area. The dining room is attractive (check out the amazing ceiling, which alone is worth lunch), and there is a nice selection of booths and tables, and even a private room for extra-large parties, with an adjoining bar. The food is excellent. Always piping hot (and as spicy as you like it, if szechuan is your thing). The portions are laughably large, which of course means another meal at home, invariably. Only once in the years we have been dining there have I ever cleaned my plate. The value is over the top--prices are extremely fair. My only issue is the fortune cookies--they're really more "proverb" cookies than "fortunes" and that bothers me for some silly reason. And it's not even Golden Inn's fault. They are made by Asian Foods which, ironically, is in Minneapolis. I even wrote to them to ask why "fortunes" vs "proverbs" are so much harder to write. No response. But I digress. Go for the food, eat the cookie, and bet the lucky numbers. You'll be glad you did.

Solid find! Was really surprised by the portion sizes (so big). Everything tasted great, and the service was attentive. Quick service, which is helpful when you’re in a hurry but not trying to rush the people serving you. Totally worth a pit stop if you’re headed through town. All around a decent find.

Best Chinese restaurant in town. Everything is always delicious, I haven’t had a bad experience yet, and I’ve been going for years. This should be your go to Chinese restaurant. The decor in the dining area is beautiful as well, especially the mural on the ceiling of the main dining area.

Ordered crab wontons wanted a different sauce instead of the sweet an sour was charge 2 bucks an when they came to the table the where cream cheese instead. Ordered my meal an it came with white rice wanted pork fryed was told had to order a complete order of it an when I got my food the rice was a no show. Got my rice 10 mins after my meal showed up. This place has gone to hell. Our waitress would not take care of us at all. Will never be back

This is a simple country bar. The food and service are excellent. We stopped by for the fish fry tonight. The fish is fresh and breaded lightly right before its cooked. The burgers are excellent as well.

Absurd customer service. Been going here for a long time. Then today I order right at the location and the waitress put in the wrong size order. Then after she already charged my card. Said I had to pay the extra 3 dollars to get my large order of soup. I said I wasn’t going to run my cars again for $3 when it was HER mistake! She said “well then I have to pay for it and I won’t do that, so you’re just getting the small soup.” She then walked away. I never got what I ordered. Will never go back. Rude and I’m professional.

Ordered the Mala (Spicy Beef) and pork Lo Mein. Both dishes were great, quality pork in the Lo Mein and the Mala beef had authentic Sichuan peppers(the ones that make your mouth numb in a good way). I also liked the oolong tea served with dinner. Our server was great too. Hidden gem. July 10th 2019

Changed review. I busted this place with modified prices. I asked for a price when I placed a take order twice. Both times my order was >$6 more then what I was quoted. Last visit they even took my order back, I got a smaller serving, got less Mongolian beef, and they gave cream cheese wantons instead of crab cheese wantons. Be careful with takeout!

You like big portions, I do too. Don’t be scared to admit it, leftovers are a northern tradition. I ordered a combo meal, a Szechwan combo, and the house lo mein. I have enough to feed a few more people, and I am not a light eater. I highly recommend this place for everyone that wants good food.

I went there solely based on other reviews. It started out good with the wonton soup. Flavorful and very good, but it went straight down from there. The egg roll taste like and had the texture of cheap store bought roll that had been thawed and refrozen a couple times and I didn’t dare try the Rangoons. They left a puddle of oil on the plate. I had the Kung Puo Chicken with the House Fried Rice. A huge letdown. The Kung Puo was basically chopped celery with a little chicken, what seemed like store brand frozen mixed vegetables and peanuts. The fried rice was disgusting. The oil was either badly burned or rancid. I’m thinking rancid because I spent the night in the bathroom with it coming out both ends. I’ll never go there again.

We ordered over $100 worth of food today. Seven of the eleven people didnt get why they ordered. The worst part is we all agreed that it was hands down the worst Chinese food we had ever eaten. My bob bon tasted like it was precooked then frozen and thrown into a fryer that was too hot. The chicken was dry and completely flavorless. It was agreed by all of us that there was very little seasoning on every platter we ordered. Finally, one member of our group.didnt even get his sesame chicken and when we called back the employee rudely accused my friend of lying and said it wasnt their problem. We order for 10 to 12 every Saturday and will NEVER be bck to Golden Inn after today.

I stop here every time I am in the area, and look forward to it. This is a great place for comfort food. I've been here several times and always like what I ordered. It's a great value considering the portion sizes are huge. The last two times I've eaten here the food has been lousy. The chicken wings are over done with grey meat and my other dish was barely cooked through. The rice was still good but that's not the whole meal. The first time I thought it was an off day because this place has always been excellent. Today, was the 2nd time so it's not an "off day" sort of thing. I won't be back....

Decent Food, Decent Prices, but nothing to write home about! I had asked for a refill on the fountain pop and was told sorry no free refills. My meal was closer to 16 dollars. The service was not very good, so there is room for improvement. Chinese Dragon in Duluth across from the Casino is 10x better!

Try the war wonton soup!! Full of vegetables and big filled wontons. Get a large bowl and share with a friend. You can get a appetizer to share too but you had better be hungery unless there's three of you!! Very reasonable prices as well.

This was our first time here, but we'll certainly be back again! The food was piping hot and very tasty! And the portions were large enough that my teenage sons had a hard time finishing theirs. The servers were friendly and warm, and help give suggestions as there were a lot of items on the menu and quite a few were new to us. From the time we ordered, till the food started arriving, was only about 10 minutes, which was a blessing as we needed to get back on the road with our travels. Also, the place was clean. So many Chinese restaurants have a sticky, greasy feel to them, but not here! The carpets and tables were very clean and the whole place had a polished feel to it. Even the bathrooms were clean and smelled nice.

I brought my family to the Golden Inn Chinese Restaurant and we were all very pleased. On the lunch menu, I had the chicken fried rice, egg foo young, egg roll and hot tea FOR LESS THAN $7! The waitress even came by and asked me if I would like some more gravy. The food was hot, delicious with minimal wait and the staff were very friendly. How have I not known about this place before? I was chatting with someone the other day about chinese food and what a coincidence, she turned out to be Jade, the hostess. She recommended the place and I'm glad she did. Great food and fantastic price. My mother ordered rice and egg foo young as well and they even prepared it all vegetarian for her, for no extra cost. I am looking forward to trying the dinner menu and I will certainly update with photos once I do. The Golden Inn Chinese Restaurant in Superior, Wisconsin is right next to the Holiday Inn and the Hampton in and kitty corner from Perkins Restaurant on highway 2. Oh, and did I mention they have take out AND chinese food delivery in Superior as well?
