The west allis location serves excellent cuisine. Keep in mind there are 2 menus. One is for the standard American orientated tastsz. Be adventuresome and order off of the Chinese menu. You wilk get to try exotic treats and fare not normally seen on most Cantonese style menus. Clams in black vean sauce, beef tenderloin in black pepper sauce, salted fish and chicken fried rice only a few of the different entrees. Well worth the trip!

I attended this restaurant with 16people. We went with two tables that had lazy susans. The service was pretty good. They kept us in the loop on what was available and ideal to eat. The staff was very friendly as well. Here they have an assortment of fish, crustaceans, beef, chicken pork, tofu and noodle dishes. I shared dishes with other people but I got the jellyfish appetizer and grazed tofu with vegetables. The jellyfish appetizer was delicious cold dish, it was my first time eating jellyfish so it reminded me of cold spaghetti noodles. The jellyfish dish had some sweet and soar cabbage that complimented the dish well. The brazed tofu and vegetables were disappointing. The tofu seemed cooked on the outside but not so much on the inside, it also didnt have a pleasant smell like a lot of the other dishes at my table. I also had bok choy, white rice, squid (fried) with chili and spicy salt, shrimp in shell with spicy salt and pepper and Ma Po Tofu. These were all pretty good dishes and the portion sizes were enough for our table of 6.

Best authentic Chinese food in the Milwaukee area. This is the only place I go to when I want real Chinese food. There are two menus and the Americanized dishes are terrible in my opinion so make sure you order off the Chinese menu.

Good food terrible service. Waited about 30 minutes for a table for 2. Finally got a table waited longer for menus. Finally waitress came to take our order. Asked questions about the dim sum menu not sure what her answer was. Our soup and dim sum came first. No napkins and only water not the drinks we ordered. Then food came no napkins and no drinks. Finally got napkins from guests at another table. Waitress came took our plates and asked if we were finished. Waited another 5 minutes for her to come with the check - no check. Finally went up to the register to pay she gave us the check drinks were on the bill. Told her we never got the drinks. Then I gave her money and no 10 or 5 for change! Do not go here unless you have many hours to spend here. Everyone ignores you!

I only ever get take out here, so I don't know much about the restaurant service. This place is the only place in Milwaukee that makes egg drop soup the way I like it: not too thin with perfect sized egg pieces. It even tastes great after being microwaved the next day. Their combination fried rice is great with shrimp, chicken, and pork pieces. The dumplings are alright. The house delight is a good dish with large pieces of meat in it.

I agree with the tip problem. They go after you if your tip is not acceptable to them. Tips are supposed to be given according to your satisfaction, not being stingy but they do have a history of getting what they want. Go somewhere else for Chinese food! Me and my sister arrived when the dinner rush was over. Though seated quickly (within minutes of walking into the door) it was over 10 minutes before we even got waters. It was another 15 minutes or so until a waitress took our order. I should add here that my sister and i were the only white customers seated. Our appetizers came out quickly but it was another 30 before we got our food. My sisters was good (pork lo mein) Though a tad heavy on the sesame oil. Mine was overly sweet (orange chicken) and a few pieces were stringy and seemed undercooked/chewy in a way. The table behind us arrived about 20 minutes after we did, got their order taken first, got their food, and check before we even got our food (they were of asian decent). Though the waitresses did eventually come back with our checks and box our food, it wasnt enough to save our visit there. Especially since, while leaving, we were given nasty looks from the other patrons. I try hard not to leave reviews like this but when the service is horrible with seemingly blatant racism... Oh, and the waitress wouldnt accept my cash payment until she counted it twice... In front of me while standing at our table. I Hope your dining experience is better than the one i had tonight. And of you are in doubt, the other location in Hales Corners has a much better quality of service.

Our favorite Chinese Restaurant in this area of town. Staff could be more polite and professional, instead of disinterested and unresponsive. Manager (or owner, I don't know) looks surly. Whatever happened to service with a smile. Fake it like the rest of us have to when we are working! AFTER reading other reviews I see that they are not even making an effort to change their poor service. Don't dine here if you want a pleasant experience. Have it delivered. The should provide a couple of more shrimp in the shrimp dishes – to make the price I pay worthwhile.

This is very good Chinese food; very tasty. I judge Chinese food by 2 standards: the taste and the freshness of the vegetables. The taste here is very good; especially for the price. The vegetables are fresh - even in a cooked meal they are firm so the food has not been sitting around. It is a cozy place with booths and tables. There are both English and Chinese menus. The service is fast (obviously if it is crowded it takes longer). Easy access for handicapped. Note: it is much easier to enter if you are traveling south on Hwy 100.

So. Delicious. The quality of the food is authentic, fresh, and tasty, AND you can't go wrong with the price. The place is well kept and the bathrooms are clean. Enough tables for a single, double or a group of people. The ONLY reason why 1 star is missing is because they could work on their customer service. English speaking or not, anyone knows whether or not they're welcomed. Stop by here if you are in Milwaukee and have a craving for Chinese Food. Super yummy.. but don't say I didn't warn you about the service

I'm 76 y/o and have been coming here for over 25 years. Hands down this is the best Chinese restaurant in town. I spent 3 weeks vacationing All over China and ate at authentic high end cuisine restaurants in all major cities from north to south. This is the only Chinese restaurant in town that compares to the Chinese cuisine we were served on our trip throughout China. I will not spend my time eating Chinese anywhere else in town. The Chinese Americans I worked with in the medical field all agree this IS THE BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN TOWN!

Zero stars... My family and I placed an order for pickup... The young man on the phone told me 35 minutes... We arrived exactly on time and had to pay and was told to wait by the front door... When we turned the corner there was a line... We waited AN HOUR... We then received "our food"... Drove all the way home and got a phone call from the same young man telling us he gave us the wrong order and we need to come back... We drove all the way back and got "our food" again... The food here are pretty good. But the service is so bad. There was no one at the door to greet you. They don’t enter your order on a computer so they usually adjust your bills and always round it up. You really have to beware because they will add tips to your check without you knowing until you get home and wonder why it’s so much and they will never give you the receipt to take home with you. When you get your food they don’t stop by and see if everything was okay if you need anything else. They come back when they need to deliver the check. Because of their dishonesty there are only Chinese people working there and not any other color of wait staff. Very ashamed of the way they run their business here. They don’t realized that People not only come for good food but also seek for good services too. This place delivers bad service and they make people ashamed to be Chinese.

I would give them a zero if possible. This "food" was most likely picked out of a dumpster. The entire order except for the white rice was completely and totally inedible. After the first bit fell apart while eating it, I tried chewing the second... Tried. I could not. Something was very solid and hard in the tender meat. I looked over at my partner. She tried it, gagged, then nearly vomited. That was not beef. Or not anymore. The egg roll was sour. The spring roll was frozen. But it gets better.. When I called to ask for a refund for this dumpster food, since we paid 50 dollars for it and couldn't actually eat it, a gentleman explained "The chicken is the chicken. The beef is the beef." This did not satisfy my curiosity. After explaining the order again, he refused to rectify it and instead became very angry with me... For... I'm still not sure. This food is inedible. The staff is rude. Do not eat here. We ordered sesame chicken (strawberries) and orange beef, as well as an egg roll and a spring roll. 0/5 stars and may God have mercy on this establishment. .

Food is good, but they seem racist if you are black. I have been going here with my mom since 2001. Love the chicken fried rice and spicy beef tenderloin dish. This may be one of the top Chinese restaurants in the city and I absolutely love Chinese food. I could eat it literally every day. With that being said, I have noticed that they tend to be kinda rude here...although to the white patrons the waitresses are friendly and smile and laughing, with my mom or I they seem short and cold for no reason. It seems to only be the women here who act this way. There is a guy who works and I usually see him in the drive through and he is very nice and cool, but the women here seem to not be too friendly to black people. Same is true of what I can assume are some of the younger kids who work from time to time, seel very Americanized and dont treat you weird. A Few of my other friends have noted similar experiences and we all have one thing in common... With that said, if you can get over what may possibly be differences in how you are treated based on your skin color, the food is good! Lol.

Busy on a Sunday night 5pm. Waited 45 min for my carryout food. Not enough seating for carryout customers. Ordered vegetable egg foo young, and Singapore noodles, and crab Rangoon. I've been a customer of Fortune's before they added the dim sum. For a restaurant that has been around, they should already have their process in order...NOPE! Everyone in the restaurant was upset due to poor service and long waits! Unorganized and OVER PRICED! I've had great dim sum that was cheaper than this...will NOT recommend this location! Too bad...we will now only dine in at the Hales Corner location where service and food is still good!

Fortune restaurant is a viable option when craving Chinese food. This restaurant is not buffet style. It's ambiance is casual and comfortable. The menus are extensive. Yes they have two menus. One menu is for their Chinese customers, and the other traditional menu for the less adventurous American tastes. They do carryout as well. I have never found jalapeno peppers in my meal, and I've never tasted sugar in the food unless it was a sweet and sour dish. Located in West Allis on hwy 100. Oh yeah, lots of parking space and recently renovated. Servers could be more cordial.

If you are Chinese decent, you go to the top of the list, and or get seated before any other race, it doesn't matter if you have been waiting 45 minutes. Chinese, always first. Go figure. I really enjoyed the food here. It was authentic, and once ordered, arrived at our table quickly. Similar to food I would get at home. And this is what I am basing the majority of my rating on because I wasn't in a rush and just wanted good food. ------ Stuff that I care less about but are very important to others. Service was not good. As I was waiting to be seated another table actually left because they were not getting any attention. It seems like this is a family run place and they were very short staffed. We were seated soon enough (at the recently vacated booth) and as we weren't ready to order right away they forgot about us for 25 minutes. I'll keep looking for better Chinese out there but as it stands, this would be a good choice for getting take-out.

Sooooo disappointed with my dinner last night at Fortune. Yep, felt like they just robbed me after my dinner there. My Mother in law just got out from the hospital and we took her there cuz she love stir fried lobsters. I asked a witness of how much the lobsters with be? Cuz it’s market price. She told me it will be between $40-$50, depend on how big the lobsters is. However, After dinner I asked for a check, they told me I’m sorry, but the lobsters is a little bigger than usual so your dish for that lobster is 79.98!!!!!!! Yes, almost 80 dollars for some damn stir fried lobster. And why can they tell me this before we eat or even order the damn lobster. That lobster plate look no where near 80. I was robbed. I talk to the manager, but they not going to adjust anything, cuz they believe that lobster is big enough to cost close to $80. But noway in hell I will order that dish If it 80 dollars. They are full of BS. I decide to went a head and paid that night, but they will never see our family there again, NEVER!!!!! and how can they do that to anyone. Damn Shady *** restaurant!!!

Worst Customers service ever! I heard people say the food was good so my wife and I decide to go there for my b-day. We went to the one at Hales Corner.The sign say OPEN until 11:00pm and we got there around 9:00pm. As soon as we enter in, the lady at the cashier looked at us and says, “TAKE OUT, TAKE OUT” which confused us. So I told her we would like to dine in, but she keeps saying, “TAKE OUT,” make me feels uncomfortable. She tends to ignore what I trying to say and push me to buy foods without letting us dine in. A guy came out from the cooking room and told us that they closed for DINING IN due to NO CUSTOMERS, but will willing to do a take out for us. What a waste of time! We decide to go somewhere else. It’s our first time and will be our last time either. This place really needs to work on their hours. You can’t just tell your customers to leave when your damn sign is flashing OPEN!

Would rate zero stars if possible. We placed an order through DoorDash, and when we received the food, it was inedible. The orange beef was sickeningly sweet, chewy, and the breading was gooey. The sesame chicken was exactly the same. The egg rolls were cold and soggy, and the vegetables inside were mush. We called the restaurant to provide feedback, and the gentleman (using that term very lightly) was incredibly rude and unprofessional. No refund offered, not even so much as an apology. He went so far as to say "the chicken is chicken, and the beef is beef," as if we were stupid. Will never order from this establishment again. Extremely dissatisfied. I've had better (and far less expensive) Chinese food from hole-in-the-wall places. Our order was not quite $50. I wouldn't even take this food for free. Save yourself some money and disappointment, and order elsewhere.

First time eating at this restaurant. Beware, the workers are rude and pay minimal attention to customers. The food was okay, nothing to rave about. I wouldn’t recommend it, there are better Chinese restaurants out there.

Being a long time customer where I enjoyed going there with a big party or just quick dine in for lunch, was a bit disappointed when we were paying our bill and the waitress came back for more tip. We tipped 20% and she still wanted more because she thought was did a better job than what we thought and should've gotten more. A bit unprofessional there but the food is amazingly good.

The food is good especially if you order from the Chinese menu. Their chicken Corn soup is great and the pea pod leaves are great (not on menu just ask). My favorite dish is beef with rice noodles. Be careful with vegetarian menu some of it comes with meat.

OK for takeout, but VERY poor service. Also, food that they told us was supposed to be spicy (Singapore rice noodles: tasted like house fried rice with rice noodles and the tinniest hint of a non-hot curry) was incredibly mild. So mild in fact that my grandma ate it and agreed it was bland. Ordered hot tea, and got the equivalent of black Lipton tea instead of the expected green tea. No chop sticks or hot sauce on tables. Sauces are taken away after you finish your appetizers. Waited a long time for the check, water, etc. when the place wasn't very crowded. If you aren't Chinese, you won't get good service or spicy food. Go somewhere else.

Excellent Chinese restaurant. Very clean and nice decor. Fortune has two menus, one in English, the other in Chinese. So if you're interested in authentic Chinese this is the place for you. Another indicator of it's authenticity is that at least half the cliental is Chinese or at least Asian every time I've been there. Prices are inexpensive to moderate. Portions are large so expect to bring home tomorrow's lunch.

I️ am Chinese but this restaurant does a horrible job in cooking Chinese food. I ordered black peppered beef. And don’t know why it has so much sauce like soup. And the beef and onion do not taste fresh at all. The hostess has very bad attitude as well. It feels like I️ own her a thousand dollars. Will not go back ever again! It is a mistake today! They have been her for ages maybe they are so comfortable and do not want to make effort to make the food and service better.
