Resounding Silence

We were new to the state, only there for a weekend event, and our hotel sent us there. Great food, great service, and a pretty great time. The waiter was very helpful with helping us what to pick as we wanted something different from our home state. My boyfriend was in love with their beer cheese soup. He was sad he couldn't go back again for more before we left.

Excellent experience here. Waitress was polite and served our order fast. I had the Reuben and it was delicious! Also the fries are amazing! My boyfriend had the buffalo chicken and the flavor was good but it could have used more sauce. Other than that no complaints at all! Would definitely eat again!

I have eaten here a lot. I have had both sides of the menu and has been pleased with all the items I have eaten. I have eaten in the restaurant and had food delivered from there. The quality is the same. Good place to eat breakfast lunch or dinner.

I wish I could give negative stars! I was traveling with a group of teenagers to a national speech and debate competition, and we went to Build a Burger for dinner. The experience started out pleasant. The waitress double and triple checked our order to make sure everything was correct. Then she seemed to forget about us. She only returned to bring out our food. I had to go ask for a pitcher, so that I could refill the drinks at our table. I noticed that she was the ONLY waitress working at that time. (There was another one when we came in, but she apparently took a really long break.). That one waitress was serving the ENTIRE restaurant! I gave her some slack when I realized this. When we tried to pay our bill, we were told that they could only split our check 4 ways. There were 15 of us. NO ONE told us this before we ordered, or we would have left! These teenagers didn’t carry cash. The manager refused to void the order and ring us up separately, because he didn’t want to mess up his inventory. (I guess customer satisfaction doesn’t mean anything.). He apologized for the waitress not letting us know, but that didn’t do us any good. When I mentioned that I had problem with the waitress getting a $40 tip when she only came to our table 3 times in 2 hours, he told me there was nothing he could do. Well, I can do something. I can give a terrible review and call corporate Tuesday morning! Don’t eat here!! The food wasn’t very good, and the service is horrible!!

From the Street. ~~ Lights were on, However upon, Entering.........Not a soul......... A wait to be seated sign; was the only thing there to greet me. I could hear people in the kitchen. The counter / bar area divided us. A man who ordered, sat, on his cellphone. A lady appeared from the swing door to say Hi, can I get you a menu? Served my beverage with my food in short order. I think that I will try this venue again. Perhaps early Breakfast is not their specialty.

Very good Sunday catch. I wanted breakfast food or a burger and this place gives you both. I was pleased with my server, although I forgot his name. I did expect bigger portions, but I guess I need to eat less anyway. It wasnt clear if the OJ and coffee had free refills. I'd return again.

Showed up with a group of 40+ people randomly from a conference. They were awesome! Our waitress Bree kicked butt and made sure everyone was taken care of. The manager was as accommodating as could be! Seriously what a great team!!!!! Food was great too, but seriously the team was awesome!!! Thanks Bree and team!!!!

I was meeting a friend for lunch, and suggested Build-a-Breakfast/Build-a-Burger since it was close to the Milwaukee Public Museum, where she and her two children were that morning. I regret that now. My friend had been waiting for several minutes when I arrived. She had been told a table was being prepared, so she was sitting in the entrance with her stroller and her two toddlers. The place was busy, but not obscenely packed, and there were empty tables which appeared to be available. She said she hadn’t heard anything and was waiting for the table to be ready, and that someone else had told her it now might be a 10-minute wait or so. As she is 8 months pregnant, I told her to wait and I would try to flag someone down. No one had greeted us at the door; there appeared to be no hostess or any sort of organization, but we weren’t allowed to seat ourselves at the empty tables. It felt like we were begging them to give them our business. We were basically ignored the whole time we were there, sitting near the hostess stand in the entryway. It was impossible to tell who was working or who we were supposed to talk to other than the two bartenders. I managed to get the attention of one of the bartenders and was told it would be more like a 20+ minute wait. We decided to try to order food to go, but as I was trying to ask the bartender what the estimate would be time-wise for the food to be ready, he walked away. While I was talking to him. We then decided to leave. I won’t ever go back.

The service was immaculate and we loved the atmosphere with having a street view of beautiful downtown Milwaukee. I especially enjoyed the service provided by kejuan he was too of the line service provider and we will request him for future visit at build-a-burger. I stopped here for breakfast hoping for something I haven't had before. Well I'm glad I did. I had there Peanut Butter and Jelly Pancakes topped with sliced bananas and caramel sauce. They were delicious. The only thing better was the friendliness of my server. The prices are fair, the service amazing. Stop in and you'll be glad you did.

I ate at this restaurant around brunch time. They were fairly busy so the wait time was around 15 min. The server was friendly and food was average. I got the breakfast burrito and the PBJ pancakes. The burrito was good but could have been bigger. The pancakes were nothing special.

I got the mexicana omelette and it was okay, not too much flavor which was disappointing, which is why I took a star away. It seems to be a popular spot though and had a great atmosphere, easy to find as well as be out around downtown to do other things.

This place sucks. Slow service. over priced, uninspired food. I swear they put a beer batter on the chicken for the chicken and waffles. Who does that? Anyways save yourself some time and go to Denny's or just make your own food.

I love their food. I ordered the floating burger. The appetizer with everything in it. I substituted the fries with the burger for sweet potato fries. My husband had biscuits and gravy. Also garlic pepper.

I really hate being harsh on establishments, but not only is it totally inconvenient to order pick up, for what we pay for basic orders, the food just isn’t that good. We just moved across the street and were excited to try this place out and have now ordered twice: once for dinner and once for breakfast. I hate to say it, but we won’t be ordering again.

Food was pretty good, but the incompetence with payment and splitting checks was IMMEASURABLE. We witnessed another table having an issue with calculating their check total, and we laughed at them for acting unreasonable...until we had to pay. Terrible payment, but nice server

One of the best places I've ever been to hands down. The only thing I disliked was how they only have one location! Huge menu selection and a perfect place for me and my bf. I prefer breakfast and he prefers burgers. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. Had music that was up to date and everything was clean and in order. Very nice atmosphere with a city view. Only a block from the Milwaukee public museum which makes it a great place to go to after all the walking. A+ rating

The service was fantastic (thanks Faith!) but the Ruben was disappointing. I've never paid so much for so little corned beef. Fries were good, and modern decor was fine. Bathrooms are out in public access hall which is weird. Next time I will try the namesake, but please put a 1/2 pound corned beef on your Ruben instead of 3 thin slices that don't even cover the sandwich

A fantastic menu and tasty food. The portions are generous, so go hungry. We enjoyed the burgers and the pancakes. The hashbrowns were beautifully seasoned. The children in our group both ordered smoothies which were a meal sized portion and easily shared. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

If I could put 0 stars I would. I ordered at 10 IN THE MORNING for a burger at 12. Got there at 12 and they said it was still on the grill. Waited 30 MINUTES FOR A BURGER THAT WAS ALREADY DONE AND SITTING THERE AT THE COUNTER! BEST $10 I EVER SPENT!

Wen't there for dinner with my girlfriend before going to a comedy show. The food was OK but the service wasn't all that great. The waitress had to come back multiple times to ask us to change our order because they were out of different things. Once we were finally able to get our order in successfully, it took almost an hour to get our food. This was around 6 and it was nowhere neer busy enough to justify the wait. Finally, when we were almost done eating, our waitress interrupted our conversation to ask us to hurry up she could clean the table. I've never had that happen before.

We visited here on a short trip to Milwaukee and they have one of the best breakfast menus. You can customize your breakfast as per your choice, the serving sizes are perfect and the food is fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly and efficient, the service was quick and if we stayed in Milwaukee this would be a regular spot for us

Not too bad at all. I ordered the chicken fingers for an appetizer and I thought they were going to be buffalo style but just came with hot sauce. The service was great and the food tasted well so I would not deny suggesting this place to someone and if someone asked me to return with them I would. This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at our hotel for being family friendly. It's fine for families with kids. My order was take out, though. The service was quick and polite. The food was excellent. Amazing pancakes. Great portobello sandwich. All around my family was very satisfied.

It was not what I expected from a burger place. The meat had to be from a box and being a Wisconsin burger place I needed more. The fries were also from a box. The buns were awesome, I had pretzel and my wife had whole grain. The staff was amazing and helpful for that we thank you but wont be back for the burgers. (Tabel next to us had breakfast and it looked and smelled great!)

Went here with my boyfriend on a quick weekend trip from Chicago. Came for breakfast. Food was pretty good! He got the warrior breakfast with all the fixings. I ordered a build a burrito. I was annoyed that we had to request water, it wasn’t automatically offered. Known for their burritos, it was a sad presentation. Just the burrito with sour cream and salsa in two small plastic containers. Why doesn’t it come with any sides? Waiter also didn’t mention it didn’t come with anything, I would have ordered fruit or hashbrowns. Overall food was good and staff was friendly. Customer service could be improved.
