Have been patronizing this place for quite some time and have always loved it. The new owners are doing a good job of keeping the tradition going strong. On our most recent visit Peter did a great job behind the bar...attentive, engaging, and on point. Dave and the other crew in the back of the house put out top notch food and we didn't wait for our food despite the bar and half the tables being full. Lisa even flagged us down in the parking lot when she realized we forgot our leftovers! Who else does that?

Larger on the inside than it appears. Classic wood-grain dive bar that pours a stiff drink and has generous portions. Cash only but if you're in the area, it's an old school bar with taking a look.

Went here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered two burgers, a pile of fries each, and two beers and it was right around $30. The fries were perfectly crispy. The burgers were expertly cooked and thick. The beers, well they were beers. This isn't fine dining, just damn fine food. Wood panelling and TV's on the walls. Enough seats for thirty or forty people. Mmmmm, will be going back.

Great food and drinks at a great price! One of the best burgers in town. They say their burger is a half pound Patty, but it looks and feels a lot heavier! The cheeseburger basket comes with a heaping mound of fries and a cup of coleslaw. My only complaint is that the bun, a pillow top type you see at Culver's, is inadequate to the mass of the burger, and then add toppings, and it's falling apart after two bites!

Best burger in Madison, massive, juicy and with fresh toppings. You can get grilled or raw onions. Usually I don't enjoy french fries, but these were excellent, and the soups fabulous. Service was quick and and polite. Will return soon!

From what my father has told me, and my own experience supports, The Brother's Three has some of the best steak in town. They also have good breakfasts if you get there early enough. Great place, could use improvement on customer service before brunch ends.

I loved this place before it changed owners. Since then the food quality and atmosphere has gone down hill. It's clear the new management is more interested in turning a quick buck then preserving the nice hometown pub feel the place used to have.

Had the walleye and it was fishy. Had an old fashion and it tasted watered down and way too sour. It also tasted like it had cinnamon in it! Told waitress and she apologized. That was it. No offer to make it better. Too expensive for what I got.

It took them 15 minutes to take our order and 45 minutes before we got served our food. Quite a bit longer than I hoped. The food was good but the establishment was dark, with wooden paneling on the walls screamed of a 1970s era Waffle House. Honestly a modern touch would do this place some good. Our waitress forgot to bring the coffee after I motioned at her (three times) that we’d like a refill. And the fact that it wasn’t too busy while we were there made it all the more difficult to understand why the lag in being served was occurring. Like I said, food was good but the lacking in service and ambiance ruined it for me. Not sure I’ll be coming back.

This is the type of place you want to tell all your friends about because the food is so good but at the same time want to keep a secret because the atmosphere is so comfortable. My girlfriend and I both ordered the bacon cheeseburger basket. I keep an unofficial list of my top 5 burgers, and this one is now top of the list. The patty was thick abr juicy, and the bacon was smoky and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back, regularly.

Before I visited this establishment, I had an image in my mind of what it would be like. The reality of this restaurant blew me away! Is this haute cuisine? Decidedly not. Is this one of the best spots in Madison for a laid-back Friday night dinner? Absolutely! They had a cheese soup on special that I didn't have high hopes for but ordered anyway. Guys, it was for real homemade cheese soup made with pepper jack cheese! It was like eating the very best version of spicy cheese sauce. My only regret was not ordering more of that soup!

This place has the small town atmosphere and charm that I always find comforting, which is something that doesn't necessarily make OR break an establishment, generally speaking. The beers are aplenty, and they have all of the standard faves for cheap, along with rail mixed drinks (love it!). What brings me back to this specific, charming, sweet little gas station turned dive bar, IS THE FOOD. Their prime rib sandwiches are INSANELY large, delicious, and satisfying. Their chili is also fantastic, and they top it off with onion and cheese to only increase the delicious dynamics of the stuff. 11/10

This is what Wisconsin is all about. Huge portions, easy on the wallet, excellent bloody Mary's for breakfast. Known for their biscuits and gravy. Gets busy and not a ton of seating. Get there early. Muskies on the wall. Highly recommend it for the southern Wisconsin experience.
