The resteraunt was warm and inviting. We didnt have a table by a window, but still could see everything beautifully. You can really tell that they put their heart and soul into everything they did. From the waitstaff to the chefs, everything was done with a sence of pride. The food was marvelous. I had the Es cargo, and fllet minon. Both cooked to perfection, and the flavors were wonderful. It was funny because I had dropped a knife , and within seconds the waitstaff had picked it up, and given me a new one. I was not the only one who had, and the quickness of their actions, and the resurance that it was normal, was top notch hospitality. Thank you for making a first date a lifetime memory. Cant wait o come back.

You should go here for a special occasion. We went for our 9th anniversary and it was great. We had a drink at the bar while we waited for a table by the window overlooking the lake. Someone else had their anniversary that night as they had a special note written on the sidewalk outside in chalk, so that's fun. The steak frites dish was awesome,get all the sauces. Also order the muscles, some of the best I've had.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable luncheon with friends, and service was both attentive and unobtrusive -- a lovely combination I do not take for granted. It was also nice to recognize others from my neighborhood whom I had not seen in a while. My salad was really good and its tuna steak was perfectly done. For those seeking the familiar in a clubby atmosphere, Lake Park Bistro is the place. In fact, many tables were greeted by staff as regulars, some asked why they missed the previous week or why they were coming in an hour later on this date. As a somewhat infrequent visitor, I was less impressed by the lack of change or the clubby vibe.

Food and service was great!!!! My only preference would be to be able to have a cocktail at the bar before dinner. The bar has a great ambiance but you seat folks for dinner at the bar while the tables are empty. Suggest that until 7:30 weekdays and 8:30 Friday and Saturday you do not seat people at the bar for dinner.

This is a great place for daye night out or entertaining. The views are beautiful and the service is amazing. I have gone here with friends and with clients and only have good experiences. The menu is robust and you’ll find plenty of wine that you will enjoy. It is not inexpensive and is more upscale but well worth it. If you are on the fence... go you’ll love it.

Our wedding at Lake Park Bistro was absolutely perfect. We had a tented reception with cocktail hour on the gorgeous East Balcony with stunning views of Lake Michigan. The restaurant's white pillars were a perfect location for photos and the surrounding park offered more beautiful options all with in a walking distance. The staff was fantastic and our guests were thrilled with their prompt and friendly service. We also received many, many compliments on the food from our family and friends; even those ‘hard to impress’ said their meal at Lake Park Bistro was the best they’d ever had at a wedding. However, the best thing about Lake Park Bistro was working with Dan. He made us feel comfortable and welcome every step of the way and provided us with excellent advice to make our day fun and stress-free. Dan was clear in all of our communications and went above and beyond to host a meeting for myself and my other vendors. His honest feedback and recommendations helped make our day personal, special, and truly, the best day of our lives. Our favorite restaurant in Wisconsin. Best French restaurant in Wisconsin! Everything is worth trying, but our favorites are the hanger steak with bistro fries, boeuf bourguignon, and asparagus soup. Recently added interesting vegetarian entrees. Seasonal menus and great wines. Not to be missed.

My girlfriend and I had reservations for 7 on a Thursday night for our anniversary. We arrived about ten minutes early, were immediately seated and they had a card with a nice message pertaining to our anniversary on it. Our servers were very nice, prompt, and very prepared. We never went more than a few minutes between the bread, appetizer, main, and dessert, which were all quite excellent. For our anniversary they gave us a complimentary dessert and drinks, which was very nice, and all of our servers congratulated us. The prices were high, but not surprisingly so, and the view as well as the ambience was quite pleasant.

I can't believe I've lived in Milwaukee for 30 years, and have never visited this restaurant. We both had the most amazing French onion soup ever. I had hanger steak which was tasty, and my hubby had quail and skate (which is stingray) which he didn't care for. The service was excellent and I got chocolate cake for my birthday. The decor is beautiful and the location is on Lake Michigan. We will be back for the soup for sure.

Great food, with traditional French style. Nothing earth shattering in terms of flavor combinations, but an excellent preparation of traditional French cuisine. Both scallops and rainbow trout were cooked perfectly. Service is ok for the price, but could perhaps be a bit more attentive at times.

Typically my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee, but recently we celebrated my best friends upcoming nuptials, with Sunday Brunch at the Bistro, and received terrible service. Even with a reservation, we waited a very long time to be seated in a restaurant that barely had anyone in it. And, our two servers were like ghosts for the majority of the meal. When the bill came we asked them to split the total among three of us and I ended up getting charged for the majority of it. When we pointed out the error and asked them to fix it, we were treated as if we had done something wrong. Very disappointing and not at all consistent with all of the good times and great service I’ve had at Lake Park Bistro in the past.

Absolutely one of the best date nights my wife and I have ever had. It was snowing, and they put us right at the window. The heater was located along the floor under the windows, so it was extremely comfortable. Hands down, the best piece of fish I've ever had. Get the trout!!!

My husband took me there for the first time last Friday (5/10/19). The French Onion Soup was amazing but it went downhill from there. I ordered the gnocchi but I couldn't eat it because of how salty it tasted. When I told the waitress it tasted like pure salt she told me that the recipe had been changed recently and that I was the third person that week to complain about it. I asked for a salad instead because I thought it would be quick and my husband was already halfway done with his dinner. The salad took 15 minutes and once finally received it was a bowl full of iceberg lettuce with half a hard boiled egg and vinaigrette as a dressing. We expected much, much more from a Bartolotta Restaurant. Very disappointing.

Oh my goodness! I cannot say enough about this place..its a piece of heaven, and paris rolled into Wisconsin! The fare is delicious, with bold and subtle flavors. And some old french cuisine favorites. The hanger steak and frites, while simple is probably the best I've ever had. The staff is warm and knowledgeable. I’ve been coming to Lake Park for over 50 years. And Lake Park Bistro since it opened. I’ve enjoyed multiple visits and even wrote one very positive review. Recently this Summer my visit was terrible. The service was poor. Our waitress took 15 min to acknowledge us and she was slow. Never asked how are food was! When I spoke to the management they apologized took my number but never called me! An organization so large with a presence in Milwaukee can’t call to acknowledge there error I don’t see providing more to all their businesses. Which I’ve been so many. On a positive side the food was great, room beautiful with one of the best views in Milwaukee! Hence the 2 stars!

We enjoyed a lovely birthday celebration brunch at Lake Park Bistro. I hadn't been there for several years, but it was a wonderful as in the past. The food is French-influence and on the pricy side, and delicious. Our group had croissants, almond raspberry stuffed croissants, cassoulet, eggs benedict, pain perdue (aka delicious french toast on brioche bread) baked onion soup with a nice cheesy crust on top, and poached salmon. They use Valentine coffee, my favorite! The atmosphere was warm, as were the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were able to spend time visiting, eating, and enjoying our group. We will be back.

Lake Park Bistro, like its cousin, the Harbor House gets 2 stars just for its location, views of lake. It is located on the bluff looking over Lake Michigan. So it really only needs 3 more stars to get 5. But the Bistro would get 5 without the views based on the consistently excellent quality of the food and presentation. If you are new to or visiting the area try Lunch and request a window table where the views enhance the experience. At night, the interior seating is nicer and cozier. The wine list is comprehensive and contains enough reasonably priced bottles to avoid the big ticket. Cocktails are very good. Check it out. There are only a few places in the area that offer unique relationships to the local geography.

This historic building has been transformed into an elegant bar and restaurant with a wonderful menu. The food measures up to the setting as well. Outstanding from the delicious crusty bread to the chicken liver pate appetizer thru to the delicious entres. The view of Lake Michigan is the cherry on top.

The vegetarian gnocchi was way too salty and difficult to eat. The green themed cocktail was un-drinkable. Hard to understand why that would even be on the menu. The beet salad was delish. They gave us an adorable card for our anniversary and a complementary champagne toast. Unfortunately the salty gnocchi and bad cocktail tainted the experience for me and we probably won’t be going back.

We had our wedding reception luncheon here on March 19th, 2019. The table looked perfect. The service from our server Carissa was fantastic. The food was amazing....some of the best food I've ever had, honestly! All of our guests were very pleased with their experience as well. I highly recommend eating lunch or dinner here, or having a wedding reception here. Wonderful experience for us. Daniel, the manager, was a pleasure to work with in our planning stages, as well as on our big day. A+ service.

Lake Park Bistro is the perfect choice for a fancy splurge. We have often come here for celebratory dinners and brunches; everywhere from a group dinner for a friend's birthday, a family gathering to celebrate graduation and a brunch with my husband for our wedding anniversary - this is the place to celebrate. To start with, the ambiance and the location are fantastic. The windows overlook the lake and the restaurant itself is set back in one of the most beautiful parks Milwaukee has to offer, Lake Park. Fun fact: Lake Park was designed by the same man who designed Central Park in NYC, Frederick Law Olmsted. Simply gorgeous! Though everything on the menu is a bit pricey, as one would expect for a restaurant of this caliber, you are definitely going to get quality. And if you really want to save a bit, you can always fill up on the baguette slices they bring around to the table. They have a couple vegetarian entrees (lentils and a gnocchi) and they have great salads and often a vegetarian soup. As for drinks, I really enjoy getting there early for my reservation (do make a reservation!) to enjoy a cocktail at their bar. Their wine selection is also wonderful, but of course on the higher end price wise. At all the special occasions we've attended, they have had a special treat for the person being celebrated (for instance, free mimosas for our wedding anniversary) and a handwritten card, which is a darling touch. The waitstaff has always been very professional and put together. Overall, just a lovely place to indulge and celebrate with friends and family.

I thought my mom and I would have really enjoyed this restaurant, but we were a bit underwhelmed and feel that Le Reve in Tosa and Pastiche in downtown are better options in Milwaukee for French cuisine. Things we liked: —the view of Lake Michigan —free parking! —the butter (kinda random, but it was really good!) —the wine pairings for the Menu de Chef —the service from our waiter’s assistant (I think her name was Michelle) —my dessert, which was an Earl Grey pot de creme with honey brittle and lavender chantilly creme. The bright, lemony Riesling was a perfect pair. Things we didn’t care for: —our waiter made the same spiel for the specials at every table and became a broken record. —the soup l’oignon was so-so, a little too sweet —the entrees could have used more vegetables to brighten up the plate —my filet was well-done when I ordered it rare, but they were quick to fix that —noisy in our room and was difficult to maintain conversation —we got a bit of a pretentious air to the place Overall, this place was nice, but didn’t knock our socks off. However, I would go there again for drinks and dessert.

If I could give 100 stars, I would! I tried prix fix menu with wine and my socks were blown off so hard, said socks are probably orbiting Jupiter. The soft shell crab was 12/10. It came with the bunch of French words I didn't understand, but the result was unbelievable. The pan-seared fish was great with chewy farro and tiny chilies that tasted like banana peppers who went to Yale. Prix fix comes with 3 glasses of wine and they were anything but random. They progressed from full-bodied, to dry to dessert wine. This was a culinary experience with capital C. I am very fortunate.

Came here several months ago for a celebratory dinner. While the ambiance and service are always amazing here, the food was a let-down this time. I ordered the rotisserie chicken and it was so dry! I can get a rotisserie chicken at Whole Foods for $9 that is moist and delicious. Very disappointing to spend $26 on an entree at such a fine restaurant and to have it be so mediocre. My husband had the trout, which he said was tasty, but the "sides" it came with (potatoes) were so scant that he was still hungry afterwards. With such steep prices, you really shouldn't leave a place like Bartalotta's feeling hungry. On the plus side, our waitress was lovely. She gave us sorbet on the house after it turned out that they had run out of the original dessert I wanted. The sorbet was delicious. Another plus: I have a dietary restriction, and my dish came out with a toothpick marked "allergy." I really appreciate this as it gave me confidence that the kitchen actually adhered to my dietary restriction.

We sat at the Chef's table tonight (6/14/19), were served by Kira, Jenn and Chef John. We had such a wonderful time through great service, top notch food and a remarkable atmosphere, that I spontaneously proposed to my girlfriend (without even having a ring). If that doesn't deserve 5 stars, nothing does. Our food included escargot, French onion soup, asparagus soup, halibut, the filet medallions, and the mousse dessert. We also had several drinks, and our bill was under $180. A FABULOUS value compared to many 5-star restaurants. Thank you, Joe (RIP), and we will be back!!!!

The staff at Lake Park Bistro made sure I had an enjoyable birthday! The left a birthday card on the table and gave me a complimentary birthday dessert. Our waiter and waitress were great! Both very friendly, professionals and prompt. I just turned 21 and wanted a wine that I would like, sweet. The waiter asked my preference and brought out a recommendation that was fantastic! I wish I knew what it was called. My boyfriend and I steaks were cooked perfectly! My only ‘complaint’ is that my ribeye had too much of the red wine sauce on it. Other than that the fries, desserts and food were the best. A damper was that their card machine happened to be down so we had to write our card information on the receipt and the waitress said she charge the card after the machines started working again. It was unsettling, we didn’t really feel comfortable leaving all of our card information on a receipt. I hope she shredded it. Other than that, amazing staff and great food! I am a rewards member so I’ll be back to spend my rewards!

I went here on a double date last weekend and loved it! It was a busy Saturday night but we did not have a wait with our reservation. There was a coat check before you enter the main dining room which is very convenient during the winter. Plenty of parking, which is always something I highly appreciate when dining in Milwaukee. The guys had the ribeye steak, the girls had the filet mignon, and we all shared an appetizer of tartare. If you like tiger meat during Christmas you'll probably love the tartare! I personally thought it was one of the best appetizers I've ever had and the waitress demonstrated the proper way to fold the egg into the meat. The filet mignon was incredibly tender and the guys praised their Ribeyes as well. Every year we choose a new higher end restaurant in Milwaukee to try on our double date and Bartolottas is easily my favorite.
