Great custom burgers and you can toss your nuts on the ground. Nothing like drinking a Schlitz while looking right at the Schlitz Brewery. The quad challenge is too easy though.

Went today to get the new BigBoy throwback special. Brought back alot of memories, also had the skin on fries. Sat at the bar both bartenders were great food was great. They said people are liking it so much going to keep it on the menu all summer. That is good news to me, will be back soon.

Surprisingly, this was my first time here and I enjoyed it. We went just before the happy hour started (2p-7p). I had a bloody Mary and the Medusa burger. I like that the peanut shells can go wherever! I'll go again, but will during happy hour.

Normally I am extremely happy with AJ's, today was unfortunately not the case. We were seated quickly and our drinks and appetizers were good. When it came to our main course it felt like the portions were smaller and our food was not hot and we were nearly given our main before the appetizers. Additionally our server was pleasant enough but we were never offered peanuts and our waters were not refilled unless we specifically asked. We also had a person in our group who is allergic to pork and when we alerted our server of this and asked if we could substitute the bacon on the grilled cheese or find out if the price could be adjusted to reflect no bacon, we were told no and not given any alternative suggestions besides looking over the menu more. Sadly they were also out of frickles and don't seem to do birthday specials anymore either. One other thing is that our server had long false nails that had a textured polish on them, and while I know servers have more lenient rules for such things, I personally feel that if you are handling food you should follow the same rules as kitchen staff in regards to nails and hair.

Took my kids for a late lunch. They had a great time. The peanuts were fun and they were so excited to write their name on the wall. The atmosphere is cozy, drinks were cold, food was hot. We shared cheese curds. They were fabulous. They had a chicken sandwich and fries. Very good. I had a cheeseburger. It was pretty rare for my liking, but I was too hungry to send it back. We were lucky enough to get street parking right in front of the restaurant.

Dropped in during a visit to Milwaukee. Unique place great staff. The restaurant is very much a hang out place but I did not feel out of place being there. The food was great and the price point was good. The self-select menu was different but effective. I would go again when I go back to town.

Skeptical, but gladly wrong. You dont get many cheese curds, which is disappointing, but the burgers are fantastic. Note: I never go to burger bars and I hate the new fad of them, but I will gladly return here anytime. The decor is pretty cool. You can carve your name in the table or put stickers on the wall, they dont care. The tracks on the ceiling deliver peanuts somewhat inaccurately to bomb chutes, raining peanuts down on people.

this place was decent. I'm deducting one star because i paid extra for peanut butter on the burger and they literally just give you a little plastic cup of peanut butter on the side. compare this to say killerburger in Portland who actually use a peanut butter sauce on the burger, and i was a bit disappointed. Fried cheese curds were really good. pretzel was overly salty but otherwise decent. the custards were great as well.

I actually really like AJ Bombers. It has a bit of a grungy, fun atmosphere. I like how they zipline peanuts over to your table. They also have fun and unique burgers weekly. I tried the Medusa because I enjoy spicy foods and it was delicious. You can always customize the burgers. We also had the buffalo chicken egg rolls and those are fantastic. They're best when hot. The food came quickly and our server was responsive and efficient.

First time at AJ. For what I paid I'd like to have a glass with my beer. I'm not trying to be picky but if I wanna drink straight from the bottle I go to a five bar. No desserts, only custards and when they brought it in a to go cup they gave me a plastic spoon that broke. Also I don't find fun neither interesting walking on peanuts that people throw on the floor. The burger was OK but for a way cheaper price there are way better burger places in town. My tots were bitter meaning that they hadn't change the oil for at least a few days. Not coming back, too expensive for the over all quality

The overly drunk college students are a bit of an issue, as the groups that we ran into, while they were quite jolly, were not very pleasant to be in closed quarters with. The atmosphere is very jolly, encouraging singing along with tunes, and the literring of peanut shells EVERYWHERE.

First time here & waited over an hour for our food. Service was fine but when we asked about our food the reason was it was super busy. That’s a lame excuse in my opinion. No food should take as long as this did. Then when it was brought out we were told there was an order in front of ours but she had them finish up ours first - that would have been believable if our food wasn’t cold. Didn’t really want to send it back in fear it would take longer. The people next to us got their food way faster. I’m giving it three starts because our server was nice & the food was good (although cold). But the wait was ridiculous. It really wasn’t THAT busy. And if it was busy their minds, probably want to figure out a better strategy so it doesn’t take as long.

This place was awesome. Me and my brother stopped in here for what I can only describe as an American tapas and were not disappointed. The barman was excellent. When we asked him to choose some local brews as we are from England and not familiar with the area he did not disappoint. The peanuts are a nice touch and the the ceiling mounted bomb peanut delivery system is one of a kind. All in all a thoroughly great experience. 10/10 would recommend.

Went for dinner, and loved the experience! Unique restaurant with write-on menus, peanuts while you wait, and delicious food. Their burgers are delicious and fully customizable. They do have gluten free & vegan bun/burger options, but my favorite is the pretzel bun.

Was in Milwaukee from Chicago for the Bulls game and stopped by this place specifically for the cheese curds which I heard were amazing. Well, they certainly didin't disappoint. Best I've had in all of Milwaukee. We might have you guys beat with pizza, but no way we have cheese curds like this anywhere in Chicago! The place is unique and they have a very fun way of sending peanuts to your table. We decided to stay and have our whole dinner there. The burgers are very good but what surprised me the most was the custard! Made in-house it was absolutely delicious! I had raspberry and there were little bits of raspberry and seeds in the custard, so good and not too sweet. A must have if you come here.

Staff was nice and the peanut bomber is cool. I was really excited about my beyond meat burger, because in Europe it's still difficult to come by. As it arrived, i noticed the patty was flat like a thin pancake and tasted nothing like it should. Why would you do that? It's already formed, just take it out of the packaging and put it on the grill! Or ask me how i like it before you get "creative". Was a mediocre burger in the end, nothing like a properly made beyond meat burger

Is there an option of negative stars. Horrible service and we were the first people in today at 11am. Pretzels came with butter on them and cheese cause out of a can. Bloody Mary comes with Gordon's vodka, unless you ask and upgrade. Asked for no olives and I got them anyway. Half a cheeseburger wrapped in bacon served in the Bloody Mary was cold and soggy inside the drink. Totochos came loaded with raw onion, the same cheese sauce out of a can, smothered in Sirachia, half of them over fried and the half cold. Not to mention they shoot peanuts to your table from above the bar and they slam down in a dog bowl on your table. This is time and money we will never get back. Think twice and go elsewhere!

Who can't love this place! They have peanuts that fly on bombers and drop into bowls. You can write on the walls. No joke. This is a very Wisconsin place. From the Frickles (fried pickles!) To the totchos (which are a must) don't pass this place. I recently got married and took my wedding party here. The staff was amazing. Then my older brother and nephews came in from the East coast. They were impressed. They tried curds for the first time! They will definitely be coming back on their next trip. The food is great and the atmosphere even better.

This is a pretty great place. More like 3.5 stars but not 4 stars. The shtick is a pretty fun one. Ordering is super easy. You are giving a paper menu and pen and mark off what you want. If there is something on your burger you don't want you cross it out. We went on a Saturday night around 530 before a show and there wasn't a wait but one started shortly after that. Food- The appetizers taste fantastic. We got cheese curds and fried pickles. Both tasted great. The burgers taste great as well but this is where it lost stars for me. The buns fall apart so easily. I had two bites and probably should have used a knife and fork after that but I powered through with messy hands. Everyone else also had their bun fall apart. I don't know what the issue is or if their burgers are so juicy the buns cant handle it. Either way it made it difficult to eat neatly. The flavor was really good though so I definitely would eat here again but probably only if I was wearing a t shirt that I didn't mind getting dirty. The fries tasted delicious as well. The custard is pretty good as well but nothing terrible special that makes it worth getting here over somewhere else. Drinks- The have Pepsi products for sodas and lots of different beers. Service- Service was fast and friendly. All of our food came out quickly and was still hot. The price was decent for what you get. Overall, definitely check this place out. Just keep in mind that you might want to get a pretzel bun or be ready to have messy hands.

In fact, it seemed like everything had an up charge from toppings to switching out the bun, which would be fine if the burgers were priced such that add ones wouldn’t make it too crazy. But the burgers themselves without the additions are pretty expensive for what you get. You could get the same quality somewhere else for the same if not cheaper price, and not have to worry about additional costs for fries/sides. My order was also prepared incorrectly. I had the Medusa burger and asked that the sauce be put on the side. Sauce was on the burger and overpowered everything! Made for a sloppy mess.

The Bomber sauce is slightly spicy with a sort of mustard like after taste. I included a photo of what I ordered and the picture of the burger with cheese curds on it is what my fiance ordered. The food is phenomenal. The burgers had just three right amount of fast in them to make them juicy and tasty. The fries were seasoned well too and pair well with ketchup. I did also get a Oreo malt, but forgot to take a picture of it. I would highly recommend it. The peanuts they serve for free are not salted, which I'm not a fan of, but that's just personal preference really. Yes, they will provide a sharpie to you to sign your name and leave your mark on the place.

An awesome, no thrills bar and restaurant! This is a great spot to have a beer (or many), a greasy cheeseburger, and unlimited peanuts (that you can throw on the ground!). I went there the first time in a while the other day it I'm happy to say it was better than I remember! The hype no longer there from their burger championship against sobelmans but their burgers are still delicious.

I did also get a Oreo malt, but forgot to take a picture of it. I would highly recommend it. The peanuts they serve for free are not salted, which I'm not a fan of, but that's just personal preference really. Yes, they will provide a sharpie to you to sign your name and leave your mark on the place.

I usually try the burger of the day, some times it's fantastic, other days it's meh. The Milwaukee Burger that won Food Wars is pretty good but also pretty typical. The peanut bombs are pretty cool and always fun to see. Custards they make are surprisingly good, cheese curds are surprisingly not. Don't come here if you have a severe peanut allergy

Bombers is a hip burger bar by the river. Beverage choices are many and varied and the hamburgers are creative and delicious. Menu not super diverse so go ready to abuse your belly and enjoy the ride!

Went for a burger a few weeks ago and got food poisoning. I ate less than half and a few minutes after I got home I got violently ill. Threw up so bad I threw my neck out and had to go to the chiro. It was super greasy and oily as was my friend's grilled chicken. She felt sick but did not get sick like I did. Definitely do not recommend!

Very unique place, food and beverage was good. Unique process of throwing peanut shells on the floor. If you are OCD, try not to look. Staff were courteous and helpful.

Great food, great atmosphere! Love the burger selection, and don't forget the tatter tots! I enjoyed the vanilla shake for dessert, but they also have alcoholic versions as well. Free burgers on your birthday, or the Wednesday of the week of your birthday.

This was such a fun environment. The staff was super duper friendly and helpful. The decor was fun to see. The onion strings were super light and flakey. The double cheese burger was very juicy and the meat was perfectly spiced. Don't skip those schlitz onion add on omg delicious! Just a side note, the sides are extra but very worth it. If I came back to visit Milwaukee I'd definitely stop in here again. Thank you

FANTASTIC place for a burger. Every ingredient is quality. The burgers are constructed in such a way that nothing is too greasy or falling off the bun. You start with a bucket of peanuts you can eat and toss on the floor. We had the buffalo chicken wraps which were great, not too spicy. I had the Milwaukee burger and my husband had the Barrie burger. I would absolutely recommend either one. Also don't forget to get the custard while you're there!

An awesome, no thrills bar and restaurant! This is a great spot to have a beer (or many), a greasy cheeseburger, and unlimited peanuts (that you can throw on the ground!). This is absolutely a fun spot to visit if you're in town and not looking for anything fancy. Side note: the peanut butter cheeseburger is better than it sounds!

Beyond Burger was on point! Cooked perfectly, and the fresh toppings made it excellent. Bombers Sauce in the burger was excellent, as was the house chipotle sauce with the amazing cheese curds. The locally made pretzel buns were also awesome! Fun, relaxed atmosphere; servers were very friendly, too. Absolutely worth a trip!
