Love it...one of my favorite places to eat...but, only don't get drinks with ice in it. Everytime I have went here in the past few months theres been specks of black stuff in my ice cubes and in the bottom of my drinks. So if u drink dark drinks, stop doing it in public settings you never know what you're truly consuming. I mean who knows what it could've been, but my 15yrs experience in a restaurant it's usually the ice machine...eww just the thought of what that looks like. I got about 4 to 5 drinks before my children's & I just decided no ice in our drinks and we didnt find any black specs in our drinks this time. It was inside and on the ice so I'm sure it's got something to do with the machine. (FIX THIS YOU GUYS) But other then that minor issue everything else is great.

The service was excellent. We ordered the lunch specials and came with plenty of food fresh and hot. The Mexican rice is perhaps the best I've eaten at any Mexican restaurant. The waiter was prompt and never let us run out of chips and salsa and refilled our drinks never letting it run dry. We were just traveling through town and would stop anytime we're passing thru.

The Margaritas, Chile Rellenos, and Beef Burrito were excellent. The turf and surf fajitas were just ok. The tortillas were dry and hard when we received them. The steak, and chicken, were dry. Our server was prompt and kind. I hear they are usually pretty busy, and, I understand why. But, I think my experience would be more enjoyable at a non-peak time.

There is an outside covered area for nice days, cozy booths for romantic evenings and a very nice bar for fun nights with friends!

I've been eating at Roca (formerly La Roca) for several years now and after a rebrand and menu makeover I can say they are one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Charleston Area. They have a friendly and inviting staff with a mix of American and Mexican nationalities, and a wide selection of food and alcoholic drinks at their bar. Which is located nicely in the middle of the restaurant as a centerpiece, with TVs and sports on at all times. Their food is by no means lush and I've had my fair share of sloppy plates and burritos bursting with food. However that's not what you need with a Mexican restaurant. Their food is always tasty and I've never left with an empty stomach. If you're in the area make sure to try them out.

Nice atmosphere friendly and attentive wait staff great food at a reasonable price. The wait staff is very good and the mayo based dip seemed weird at first but soon became a favorite of ours and their salsa is the best I have had on the area, being from Texas, I have been exposed to many varieties and consider myself well suited to judge...It could be more spicy but I love it really hot too...Nothing a bit of habenero sauce can't fix....the food is awesome and very authentic.....One con is that the authentic Chile relleno did not taste very fresh maybe even prepare and frozen but that is my only negative...All in all great for the small price.

Food was slapping! Ordered the shrimp casadillia and a chicken enchilada, Ordered 2 patron mix drinks and 1 Corona mix drink. Was slapping also. Service sucked(waiter).. Had to ask for silverware after food was brought to our table. Very hard to understand what she was saying. Everything else and every other time I've came here food and service has always been good but usually sat at the bar!

Love this place. Haven't eaten here too often, but it's basically the same as Margaritas in Huntington. Love the Piña Loca and their white dipping sauce for chips (and, if you like hot salsa, make sure and ask for their hot homemade salsa)

Service was great and everyone was very friendly. Wife had the burrito and loved it, but I was a little disappointed by the chimichangas. Instead of most places having them be roughly the size of a burrito, they were like 2 small taquitos. Didn't feel it was a good choice, if I was to return I would probably do the tacos instead.

they have awesome food I ordered the pineapple chicken fajitas they were so amazing they really has some good menus and I think you would enjoy it it's a family atmosphere and a Ford 8 it's a cozy date for a date night you would not make a mistake going out to dinner and you can just go up over the hill and go to the casino it's a nice place to go this is a very good place to eat

The food was good just not flavorful enough for me. Service was slow. What was amazing is that they really took care of me with things I cannot eat as I have Celiac's disease. They asked what I wanted and made sure it was gluten free. I appreciated them taking the extra time and measures to assure I had what I needed.

Lunch was horrible. Waitress waited to take our drink order with meal and acted as if we were bothering her by being there very uncomfortable for us. She didnt bring our food or ever check to see if meal was good. By the way was cold and gross. I had to ask for check. This isn't the first time I have been there but sure will be the last for us.

This place was absolutely Terrible on New Year's. Took the waiter about 30 minutes to come to our table and take our order. The food was good, when it came time to leave and pay it took another thirty minutes for the waiter to come back to us and give us a check. Terrible customer service experience, I won't be going back

I haven’t been to this restaurant for more than a year and it has went downhill. We were a party of 6 and were seated in the back room. It was freezing and the room looked crazy. In several places the wall paper was falling off the walls. The corners had old dusty cob webs. Tape from parties was all over the walls and ceiling. I went to the restroom and that’s where it got worse! One toilet was clogged, the last one had a door that didn’t close and the first one was dirty. Paper towels were overflowing the trash. The paper towel dispenser was empty and a new roll was sitting on the changing table..

This review is of the new, South Charleston location. Both the property and atmosphere were exceptionally clean, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. The staff in general, and our waitress specifically were very friendly, cheerful, prompt and professional. The food was delicious, although I do have a few comments to make. The perfect, standard chips and salsa were served with another white colored dip that was very nice and I look forward to enjoying again. My standard first dish for any Mexican restaurant would be the beef nachos. The meat was very, very enjoyable at first, however midway through my dish I felt the seasoning was a bit dominating and made the plate hard to finish. Along with that, I had the pico de gallo and guacamole on the side. The pico was a bit bland and watery, while the guacamole was the standard taste and texture served at many of the Mexican eating establishments in the greater Charleston area. Overall, the food was very tasty and had a mouth watering presentation. I look forward to returning to Rocas to try something else on the menu. However, there is another sheriff in town and his name is Plaza Maya. Would I pass Plaza Maya to get to Rocas? Definitely one more time, but a third time is questionable.

Over 1hr and still waiting and not sure why. That is waiting on our food. And after the waiter told us our order was lost it was still over 30 mins to get our order. WILL NEVER RETURN. PS Food was not good either.
