This place isn't bad, but it feels like a budget version of Hibachi, by Target. The restaurant's decor and atmosphere are great - it looks top notch and I really liked the light up table around the hibachi grill. They were playing music, but it was pretty loud in the restaurant so I couldn't hear it all that well unless I was focusing on it. I got a crab maki roll and general tso's chicken. The maki roll was okay, but it had a somewhat sour flavor that I've never experienced with sushi before. The general tso's was also pretty good, but I felt like I didn't get much food for what I paid. It was $12.95 for the chicken and I could have gotten way more at a Chinese restaurant for less money. The chicken tasted okay and it was very crispy (a good thing in my book), but the sauce was thin and there wasn't enough sauce with it. I liked the sauce for the most part, but it tasted somewhat watered down. The meal also came with fried rice, soup, and vegetables. The rice didn't have much flavor on its own, so I mixed it in with what was left of the general tso's sauce after I finished eating the chicken and vegetables. The soup also didn't have much flavor - usually hibachi restaurants have good soup, but this was bland. The people who were with me got hibachi grill food and theirs was pricey. That was one reason I went with something from the kitchen, because the cheapest thing on the hibachi menu was $12.95 and I wasn't a fan of it. They liked their food, but they said it could have been better. One main reason people go to hibachi restaurants is for the experience and it's always fun to watch the chef do tricks. Our chef seemed like he was still learning the ropes, because he dropped his utensils a couple times and seemed hesitant performing some tricks, but he was enthusiastic the whole time and I give him props for being a good host. I actually caught some food in my mouth because no one else at the table was willing to try. Overall, Osaka is an alright restaurant, but I feel like you could get better bang for your buck elsewhere.

I was there to enjoy an evening Hibachi meal with my adult son. They sat us and just left us sitting there for about 20 minutes until another couple came along to join us. The waitresses looked like they were intentionally ignoring us (and the other couple). The Hibachi chef came to start things and he did a pretty good job and the quality of the ingredients were ok. He puts some things on our plates and we said 'we have no silverware'. He said what? and had to leave the grill and go get it himself. Finally one of the 2 waitresses came over and ask us what we wanted to drink. I think it pained her to do that. She never returned to check on us. Keep in mind they were not crowded. It was a very slow evening. It was a horrible experience and I will not be returning. Maybe they need a new manager?

THE Food is 5 STAR, THE building is truly Amazing, The 1 star review comes from the Manager and another Working fighting and cussing each other, It was like Dinner and a Show several people left. I STAYED to watch the Show...I Will come back and try again the food was that Good...need help with management.

This is my son's favorite Japanese Steakhouse. The staff are always friendly. The show is the same as all others, the food tastes the same as the others. I wish they had cabbage with the hibachi grill. We've only ever eaten on the hibachi side.

When walking up to this restaurant immediately you notice how much work they put into the appearance. When you walk inside it is so nice. They have robots for the hostess that speaks to u 6ut an actual person seats you. Still very cool. The inside has like a huge aquarium in the middle of the restaurant with no fish 6ut it has 6ubbles that spin all sorts of cool spinning thing n watching the 6ubbles travel the path is really cool. They also have a regular much smaller aquarium. The food and selection are amazing. I get sushi when I go here and they have this like Kobe 6eef roll I've never gotten anywhere else I think it maybe their invention. I wasn't impressed when I read the description of it 6ut when I go to get sushi I get seriously like atleast 8 different rolls n they're not cheap one I love the high end rolls with high quality ingredients so I added it to my order. When it comes it's wrapped in aluminum foil that was still flaming when I got mine. This was the most tender 6eef I have ever had. No other 6eef in my life comes even close to comparing to the tenderness. It melts in ur mouth just like the 6arbeque eel that comes on top of rice. This place is just awesome and if you have the chance to check it out I promise you will not 6e upset you chose to go there

The sushi chef "Iron" is outstanding! I have enjoyed sushi across the US (San Fran to Boston) and believe it or not, Iron ranks among the best. I sat at the sushi bar and discussed with Iron what I enjoyed. He then made a custom spicy tuna, crab, seared salmon on top and Japanese mayo, chili sauce, eel sauce, scallion, tobiko roll for me which was incredible. The second visit, he created a sushi "pizza" for me. It was on a thin pita wrap with crab, whitefish, jalapenos, garnish with little crunch, mayo, & red tobiko. Wow again!

Not like the 1st time we were there. My sushi was good, but my husband got the shrimp and steak and his food wasn't brought out with mine. When hi did get his the vegies were hot, but his steak and shrimp were cold. His steak was not a steak but beef strips.

Well I called a week in advance to reserve for 15 people. Have now been sitting waiting for table for 1 hour 20 minutes. They did not have my reservations recorded. Its ok tho they are sorry and will let me have a free drink. Sad Update: 2 hour and 2 minute wait we have a seat! Thank Goodness for for reservations!

Reeked of burnt grease as soon as you walk in. DO NOT let them sit you in front room. Paid for extra chicken which I did not get. No matter, it was tasteless and seemed like it was boiled. Friend was curious and took a taste. Said hers was not as bad as mine. Waitress said nothing about it not being eaten. Did not stiff her on tip. Maybe I will see if the racoon has any mango chutney and burnt hair left over. Again quanity wins out over quality. That has to be why anyone gives this place more than 1 star. Boggle*

Disappointed. We ordered appetizers, sushi which was for myself, general tso for my 18 yr old, crispy duck for a friend and lomein noodles whatever for another guest. Sushi was dry and bulky I didn't enjoy the tuna looked old but didn't have an odor yet. The others weren't too happy w their meals either. The flaming Bacardi drink I'd ordered was good but not worth the price. Server was pleasant and helpful. All n all I won't b returning to the establishment.

The only good thing was the soup. after waiting at least 20 min to have our order taken then it seemed like 30 mins for food to come and when it came it was cold the veg. was so cold they didnt taste good . Was expecting a good flavor but it wasnt the rice was cold. We should have done what the people behind us did told them the food was terrible and got up and left. That was our first time and will be our last time there.

The atmosphere is wonderful for personal or business gatherings. Monday and Tuesday offers 50% off sushi rolls and it includes the more intricate rolls. The sushi and hibachi are both well prepared. Will be returning.

The staff here are very kind and helpful, but the manager treats them very poorly. He is very rude to customers and employees. He doesn’t even have the courtesy to ask you if you have been helped, nor help you if you ask. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you appreciate respect.

Also what appears to be the manager in the front needs to help her staff more by delivering food, drinks and boxes. Instead she held up the table in the front.

This is my favorite place to eat for date night. The atmosphere and food is great. Before I came to this place I could never eat steak without A1 sauce but the steak here is so well seasoned it doesn't need any sauce. It is a very modernized restaurant with all the beautiful decorations, and I always love watching the robots inside when there is a birthday.

Great atmosphere! Very modern and stylish. Hibachi grill master put on a fun show for us all. Food was fantastic!!! Definitely higher quality food than other similar restaurants. Price was a little high, but well worth it. Quite slow for the grill to heat up, but the soup and salad came out quickly while we waited.

We went to this place & we were stunned! As soon as we walked in we were sat down immediately & waited on. It was somewhat awkward at first because they sat us down with another family, but it's due to a limited amount of chefs & it wasn't a problem. We ordered some sushi & it was delicious! The master chef preformed multiple tricks with juggling eggs and knifes. He was also very humorous! We ordered the seafood special, & the NYC steak & both came out perfect! The steak was juicy & tender & the lobster was one of the best that I'd ever had! Everything came in large proportions. All meals come with vegetables, fried rice/noodles & clear soup. I am not a fan of any soup but I could not stop eating the soup I was served Haha. It was my daughter's birthday & the sat up a robot to come & sing to her as it carried her a bowl of ice cream with a birthday candle. She loved it! The waitress we had was quite thoughtful & went out of her way to set up the robot & icecream for the mini celebration. Not to mention we got 15% off our check because I'd her birthday. Overall we had a great experience & cannot wait to go back! Definitely recommend!

The two of us came in the door and the couple that came in behind us were seated by the hostess as they walked through the door behind us... we were COMPLETELY ignored. Then when a gentleman asked us if we had been helped yet and we indicated we had not, he took us on a long windy tour to the back of the restaurant and sat us at a 4-top table. We hadn't gotten through the first page of the menu when original hostess that ignored us came up to the table and said we could not sit there, that they had to sit a group of 4 that had just came in and that they would find us a table in about 15 minutes. Mister and I looked at eachother, got up and left. We will not be back.

The food was good. (I did not try their sushi). Very generous portion for a Hibachi entree. Prices are reasonable. Service fine. Atmosphere and seating a bit odd. Best for large parties of people. Not so good for couples or singles. Has a bar and sushi bar separated. The manager said they recently changed their name to one with a better description.

Probably the best place to get sushi in Charleston. After a long day of shopping, I just sit at the sushi bar and am never disappointed with a huge variety of fresh BEAUTIFUL sushi. Anything and everything on the menu is great though. Lighting and atmosphere is perfect for every occasion while still being priced appropriately. Service is very quick. If Iion is at the sushi bar, just let him know what you're in the mood, he has never disappointed.

We waited what seemed like forever to place our order and it was a rarity to see our waitress after placing our order. The atmosphere was cool with different lighting. We ordered general tso chicken with fried rice and sesame chicken with lo mein. Both were amazing! The soup was nothing special, and they don't have wonton soup... Overall food was very good, but the service was a enough to likely deter us from returning.
