There aren't too many great options for Korean-operated establishments that serve black bean noodles ("Jajangmyeon") in Northern VA. However, Jang Won Bon does it right by me. I frequent this place usually on weekends and normally order a bowl of the black bean noodles and the sweet and sour crispy pork ("Tangsuyuk"). It's pretty packed on weekends, but you typically won't have to wait any longer than a few minutes to be seated at lunch or dinner time. Service is efficient, but feels a bit abrupt at times as the servers are trying to turn around tables as quickly as possible. They accept credit cards and cash and there is plenty of storefront parking available.

This is my favorite jajjangmyun jib. Jjangpong is amazing. But the spicy seafood Kan jajjang is my jam. Crispy pork is the crispiest. I get sauce on side so I can take the leftovers home. The only negative is they don't have Dolsot Bibimbap in the menu, but I understand that it's not a pure Korean food, but K/Chinese one which explains it. Their foods are pretty decent and it is ok. However, their service is horrible, and they tend to make so much mistakes on To-go foods. They will forget to put one or two things every 2 out of 4 different order. Worst thing is if you call them to let them know they forgot to put ordered food, sauces or other things, they do not even say sorry, not even once they did. They will repeatedly say "oh, no..oh, no..". and pretend like if I am lying to them. I do not even want a money back but at least some apologizes. Restaurant owner is maybe really cheap and no waitresses is willing to tell the restaurant owner about their mistakes. They make so much money since it is a popular spot among Korean-Asian, but they have lost their spirit and became an another greedy typical Chinese restaurant owned by another Korean owner.(I am Korean too so I am not making a racial comment here, it is just typical streo type view from my own). Their mind set is like, "I dont care about one customer complaining, because I have so many others, so fxxx off". They are so lucky that there is no competition like other big cities, they would've have lost their business already with how they treat customers. Only thing I can tell you is even McDonald has a better after care service than this restaurant. I can promise you that I will never ever go back to this restaurant again. But it is your choice whether you go to this restaurant or not. I am not paying a single penny to make this restaurant again for their poor services.

Usually a good place to eat. Today, food was fine, but...my family was seated where the cold air blew in on us everytime the outside door was opened. Shouldn't have been a big deal but the inner door was open and cold air blew in everytime the outer door was opened. They were busy so it opened a lot. When I asked if they would close the inner door, they refused. I asked a second time and they still refused. Their reason was that waiting customers would feel bad if the inner door was closed, and they had to wait in the entryway. Clearly my family's comfort while eating there was not a concern to them. We used to eat here often and they usually recognize us when we come in. I'll think twice before going back.

Food prep is quick enough and cost is reasonable to come for lunch. My only gripe is that the service isn't the best. For Koreanstyle Chinese food, Jang Won is good. I shared Jjajangmyun (black noodle), jjampong (hot and spicy seafood noodle) and tangsuyik (deep fried beef with sweat and sour source) with friends. Jjampong was good but wasn't hot enough to feel right in temperature wise. It is quite busy restaurant, so I felt a little bit rushed while eating.

I just went this restaurant with my family and both food and the service were AWFUL. Servers are rude as we come in. No greeting had to wait even there were open tables. My brother ordered Mapo Tofu. When the food came out, we all tasted that tofu was rotten. We told the server and came back a few minutes later and said "We all tasted and it was fine.
