I have been eating at Awoke for over 15 years my husband of 14 years had our first date there! We have enjoyed dining there at least once a week ever since! In our house we call there wonton soup shepherdstowns magical healing soup because every time anyone gets sick we just eat the soup and no joke we always feel better in the morning! The have the best food around! So if u want quality and great service for a reasonable price without a doubt u need to check this place out! U won't be disappointed guaranteed!

Used to love this place always came here and never had a problem with thw service or food. Well tonight will be my last time coming here have been sitting here for a hour and 20 mins waited 20 mins for our drinks the hour we still havent gotten our food and what little food we did it wasnt worth the wait or time!!

Just passing through Shepherstown and decided to order takeout from A-wok. The food was perfect! The vegetables in the Vegetable Combination had a nice snap and great taste. General Tso's Tofu BLEW my mind! I found that they offer a wonderful variety of vegetarian options and the friendly staff made my transaction quick and easy. See you next time, A-wok!

The numerous times I've ordered take out or dined in I received good service and good food. They have some of the best sweet and sour chicken I've ever had. Prices are little high, but you get a lot of food. Don't see why there are so many bad reviews, I've never had any issues here. Would recommend.

Just ordered take out and when I got home I was extremely disappointed. I order beef and broccoli, the beef tasted really off (haven't had this problem here or anywhere before). However, crab Rangoon was good. Won't be coming back.

*edit* I've had to change my review recently. I went for the first time in a couple months and everything has changed. It appears the restaurant may be under new ownership since the last time I was here in the spring. The dining room, staff and food were all completely different. I was very disappointed overall. The food was your run of the mill take out, nothing like it was before.

Disappointed. They cut every corner to give very cheap food. I ordered take out here once before and decided to give it a second try. There won’t be a third. Portions are small!! An order of “Fried dumplings” are 7 tiny potstickers that I could bet money they bought frozen from food lion next door. They taste okay but I expected the big doughy dumplings like other restaurants. I also got an order of crab Rangoon’s- there are only four pieces as opposed to other restaurants that give 8 or even 12 of them. They should’ve been called “Garlic Rangoon’s” because that’s all Mine were. They also didn’t come with any dipping sauce. Lo mein noodles are tasteless. General tsos chicken was pretty good but not spicy at all. Don’t waste your money.

This has always been my go to Chinese restaurant but last nights order was pretty bad. Ordered Gen Tso Prawn... Half of the 'prawn' were nothing more than fried balls of breading. The wrappers on the steamed dumplings were so thick and the filling was almost none existent. The shrimp lo mein tasted like watery noodles. Pretty disappointed

A-wok has very high quality Chinese food and a variety of menu options. They are a little pricey but not unreasonable. The dining area is always clean and the environment is relaxed. Very friendly and accommodating staff but the English can be rough at times.
